Readthismanualcarefullyandhaveyourinstallerinstructyouonyoursystem'soperationandon

instructedinitsuse.FillouttheSystemInformationpagewithallofyourzoneinformationand

inaccordancewithANSI/SIACP-01-2014ControlPanelStandard-FeaturesforFalseAlarm

turesbuiltintoyoursystem,asthismanualdoesnotcoverallfeatures.
1.1 Fire Detection
Thissystemcanmonitorfiredetectiondevices,suchassmokedetectors,andprovideawarningifa
fireconditionisdetected.Goodfiredetectiondependsonhavinganadequatenumberofdetectors
placedinappropriatelocations.ThisequipmentmustbeinstalledinaccordancewithNFPA72
(N.F.P.A.,BatterymarchPark,QuinceyMA02269).CarefullyreviewtheFamilyEscapePlanning
guidelinesinthismanual.

Thissystemcanmonitorcarbonmonoxidedetectorsandprovideawarningifcarbonmonoxideis

Testyoursystemweeklytoensurethatyoursystemfunctionsasintended.RefertotheTestingyour
Systemsectioninthismanual.Ifyoursystemdoesnotfunctionproperly,callyourinstallationcom-
panyforservice.
1.4 Monitoring
Thissystemcantransmitalarms,troublesandemergencyinformation.Ifyouinitiateanalarmby
mistake,immediatelycallthecentralstationtopreventanunnecessaryresponse.
Note:
lYourinstallermustenablethemonitoringfunctionbeforeitisfunctional.
lConsultwithyourinstallertodetermineifyoursystemisconfiguredwithacommunicator
delay.Acommunicatordelaypreventsareporttothecentralstationifthecontrolpanelis
unsetwithin30-45secondsafteranintrusionalarmistriggered.Notethatfire-typealarms
arenormallyreportedwithoutadelay.

Withnormaluse,thesystemrequiresminimummaintenance.Notethefollowingpoints:
lDonotwashthesecurityequipmentwithawetcloth.Lightdustingwithaslightly
moistenedclothremovesnormalaccumulationsofdust.
lReplacethestandbybatteryevery3-5years.
WARNING!Donotattempttoreplacethebatteryoropentheenclosure,asthereisariskofelec-
tricshockorfire.
Forothersystemdevicessuchassmokedetectors,passiveinfrared,ultrasonicormicrowavemotion
detectors,orglassbreakdetectors,consultthemanufacturer’sliteraturefortestingandmain-
tenanceinstructions.

Yoursecuritysystemcomprisesanintegratedalarmcontrol/panelandvarioussensorsanddetectors.
Thepanelismountedbythemainentry/exitlocation.Thesystemisself-contained;electronicsand
standbybatteryarehousedwithintheunit.
Note:Ensurethatonlytheinstalleroraserviceprofessionalhasaccesstothesystem.
Thesecuritysystemhasseveralzonesofareaprotection.Eachofthesezonescommunicatestoone
ormorewirelesssensors,suchasmotiondetectors,glassbreakdetectors,doorcontacts,etc.A
sensorinalarmisindicatedbymessagesontheWS900mobilephoneuserapplication.
AdditionalfeaturesincludeAutomaticInhibit(SwingerShutdown)foralarm,TamperandTrouble
signalsafterthreeoccurrencesinagivensetperiod,andaprogrammableKeypadLockoutoption.
ForSIACP-01classifiedinstallations,theswingershutdownfeatureisprogrammedsuchthatone
ortwotripsshutsdownthezone.Thezoneisrestoredafteramanualresetbyenteringtheaccess
codeatthetimeofdisarmingthealarmsystem,oritisresetautomaticallyafter48hourswithno
tripsonanyzones.
2.1 Integrated Keypad
TheWS900systemincludesacapacitivetouchintegratedkeypadwith16keys:numbers0thru9,*,
#,Fire,Auxiliary,Panic(FAP),andshift(uparrow).
Innormaloperation,thekeypadremainsdimwhennotinuse.Whenauserisincloseproximity,the
numberkeysilluminate.
Note:TheFAPkeysdonotilluminateunlesstheshiftkeyistapped.SeetheEmergencyKeyssec-
tionformoreinformation.
Note:Thekeypadcanonlybeusedforarming,disarming,andthelocalFAP.Thesamefunctions
areavailablewhenswitchingbetweenpartitions.

tion,ifapplicable,toanemergencysituation.Securitysystemsaregenerallyveryreliable,butthey
maynotworkunderallconditionsandtheyarenotasubstituteforprudentsecuritypracticesorlife
andpropertyinsurance.Yoursecuritysystemmustbeinstalledandservicedbyqualifiedsecurity
professionals.Theseprofessionalscaninstructyouonthelevelofprotectionthathasbeenprovided
andonsystemoperations.
Note:WhenthepanelisinSleepMode,itissavingbatterylife.Thepanelwillnotbeturnedon
untilthereisaspecificreason,suchasahandwaveinfrontofthepanel,orthestartofanentry
delay.
Inthismodethekeypadisstillfunctioningandnothingwillbevisible;howeverifdesired,your

3.1 Stay Arming
StayArmingarmstheperimeterofthepremiseswhilepermittingmovementinside.
ToarmthesysteminStaymode,dothefollowingsteps:
1. EnsureallprotecteddoorsandwindowsaresecureorbypassedandthattheReady
indicatorison.
2. Enteravalidusercodeanddonotleavethepremises.Thesystemwillautomatically
ignorebypassedzones.Exitdelaybegins.
3. Whenexitdelayisactive,theArmed andReadyindicatorsturnonandthekeypadis
silent.
Whentheexitdelayhasexpired,thesystemisarmedandindicatedbythefollowingconditions:
lTheReadyindicatorturnsoff.
lTheArmedindicatorstayson.
Note:ForSIACP-01listedpanels,theStayArmingexitdelaywillbetwiceaslongastheAway
Armingexitdelay.
IfyoursystemisinstalledinaccordancewithSIACP-01StandardforFalseAlarmReduction,the
securitysystemarmsintheStayArmedmodeiftheexitdelaytimeexpiresandthereisnoexit.
3.2 Silent Exit Delay
IfthesystemisarmedinStaymodeorusingtheNo-Entryarmingmethod,thekeypadbuzzeris
silencedandtheexittimeisdoubledforthatexitperiodonly.(SIACP-01only.)
3.3 Away Arming
AwayArmingarmstheentiresystem,includingtheperimeterandinteriordevices.
ToarmthesysteminAwaymode,dothefollowingsteps:
1. EnsureallprotecteddoorsandwindowsaresecureorbypassedandthattheReady
indicatorison.
2. Enteravalidusercodeandexitthepremisesthroughadoorprogrammedasentry/exit
type.Exitdelaybegins.
3. Whenexitdelayisactive,theArmed andReadyindicatorsturnonandthekeypad
beepsoncepersecond.Dependingonyoursystemconfiguration,youhave____secondsto
exitthepremises.Yourinstallercanprogramthistime.
4. Thekeypadbuzzeremitsadistinctpulsatingrateduringthelast10secondsoftheexit
delaytoindicatethatthetimeisexpiring.
5. Tocancelthearmingsequence,enteryouraccesscode.

zonebeforetheendoftheexitdelay,restartstheexitdelay.

3.4 Quick Exit
Ifthesystemisarmedandyoumustexit,usetheQuickExitfunctiontoavoiddisarmingandrearm-
ingthesystem.Usingthisfunctiongivesyou2minutestoexitthepremises.Whenthedoorisclosed
afterexiting,theremainingexittimeiscancelled.
3.5 Arming Errors and Exit Faults
Yoursecuritysystemaudiblynotifiesyouofanyerrorswhenyouareattemptingtoarmthesystem
orexitthepremises.
3.5.1 Arming Error
Anerrortone(longbeep)soundsifthesystemisunabletoarm.Armingerrorsoccurunderthefol-
lowingconditions:
lThesystemisnotreadytoarm,i.e.sensorsareopen
lTheenteredusercodeisincorrect.
lApresenttroublecondition.
Ensureallsensorsaresecureandthesystemisreadytoarm,thentryagain.
3.5.2 Audible Exit Fault
Toreducefalsealarms,theAudibleExitFaultnotifiesyouofanimproperexitwhenarmingthesys-
tem.Iftheentry/exitdoorisnotsecurelyclosedduringtheprogrammedexitdelay,thesystemwill
soundthealarmtoindicateanimproperexit.
Note:Yourinstallermustenablethisfeature.
Tocorrectandexitfault,dothefollowingsteps:
1. Re-enterthepremises.
2. Enteryouraccesscodetodisarmthesystembeforetheentrydelaytimerexpires
3. Ensureallsensorsaresecureandthesystemisreadytoarm.
4. RepeattheAwayarmingprocedure.
3.6 Alarm Cancel Window
Thereisaperiodoftimeinwhichyoucancancelthealarmtransmission.Whentheprogrammed
alarmtransmissiondelayexpires,cancellinganalarmsendsamessagetothecentralmonitoringsta-
tion.Whenthecancellationmessageissuccessfullytransmitted,thesystembeepssixtimes.

3.7 Bypass Zones
Usethezonebypassingfeaturewhenyouneedaccesstoaprotectedareawhilethesystemis
armed,orwhenazoneistemporarilyoutofservice,butyouneedtoarmthesystem.Bypassed
zonesarenotabletosoundanalarm.Asaresult,bypassingzonesreducesthelevelofsecurity.If
youarebypassingazonebecauseitisnotworking,callaservicetechnicianimmediatelytoresolve
theproblemanrestoreyoursystemtoproperworkingorder.
Ensurethatnozonesareunintentionallybypassedwhenarmingyoursystem.Zonescannotbe
bypassedoncethesystemisarmed.Bypassedzones,exceptfor24-hourzones,areautomatically
cancelledeachtimethesystemisdisarmedandmustbebypassedagainbeforethenextarming.

lTwo-hourzonescanonlybeunbypassedmanually.

3.8 Bypass Group
Abypassgroupisaselectionofzonesprogrammedintothesystem.Ifyoubypassagroupofzones
onaregularbasis,youcanprogramthemintoabypassgroup,sothatyoudonothavetobypasseach
zoneindividually.Notethatyoucanonlyprogramonebypassgroupatatime.

keybuttonsareprogrammable.Yourinstallercanverifythefunctionsforeachkey.

toyourhouse,oryoucancallforhelp.

Theemergencykeysgenerateafire,auxiliary,orpanicalarmandalertsthecentralmonitoringsta-
tion.
Tousetheemergencykeys,dothefollowingsteps:
1. Taptheshiftkey onthekeypad.Theemergencykeysilluminate.

2. TouchtheFire,Auxiliary,orPanickeyfor2seconds,asneeded.Thesystembeepsto
indicatethatthealarminputhasbeenacceptedandsenttothemonitoringstation.
3. Toreturntothenumberkeypadwithoutusingtheemergencykeys,tapthe[#]key.
Note:Dependingonyoursystemconfiguration,yourinstallercandisableanyoftheemergency
keys.
6.1 Two-Way Audio Operation
Thisfeatureisusedtoverifythenatureofanalarmandtodeterminethetypeofassistancethe
occupantneeds.Whenthecentralmonitoringstationreceivesanalarm,theyinitiateatwo-way
audiosession.
Note:Onlythecentralmonitoringstationcaninitiateatwo-wayaudiosessionwhentheyreceive
analarm.;theusercannotinitiateasession.
6.2 Intrusion (Burglary) Alarm Continuous Siren

Ifyouareunsureofthesourceofthealarm,proceedwithcaution!
Ifthealarmwasaccidental,enteryouraccesscodetosilencethealarm.Ifthealarmsystemisdis-
armedwithintheprogrammedtransmitterdelaytime,noalarmtransmissionissenttothecentral

monitoringstation.Checkwithyourinstallertoseeifthisoptionhasbeenenabledonyoursystem
andforthetransmitterdelaytime.
Followingthetransmitterdelaytime,youhave5minutestoenteryourusercodetocancelanalarm
thathasbeenpreviouslytransmitted.Acancelsignalissenttothecentralmonitoringstationandthe
systemindicatesthatthecancelsignalwastransmitted.Callyourcentralmonitoringstationtoavoid
adispatch.

lThesystemprovidesaudibleandvisualindicationoftheCOalarm.
IftheCOalarmsounds,dothefollowingsteps:
1. PressthebuttonontheCOdetectortosilencethealarm.
2. Callemergencyservicesoryourfiredepartment.
3. Immediatelymoveoutdoorsortoanopendoor/window.

TheWS900systemsupportsupto100users,includingtheMasteruser.Bydefault,user#1isthe
Masteruser.Youcannotdisableordeletethisuserfromthesystem.Thesystemalsosupportsan
additionaltwoduresscodes,oneforeachpartition.
Fromtheuserapp,youcanprogramandconfigureattributesforusers2thru100.Youcanassigna
usertooneorbothpartitionsandenableordisablesysteminteraction.
Usercodesare4-digitsandmustbeunique;thesystemdoesnotrecognizeduplicatecodes.Ifyou
programaduplicatecode,thesystemerrorsandthecodeisrejected.Ifyoutrytochangeanexist-
ingusercodetoaonethatisalreadyprogrammed,thesystemerrorsandthecodeisunchanged.
7.1 Access Code Types
TheWS900systemprovidesthefollowinguseraccesscodetypes:
Master Code Thisisthesystemmastercode.Youcannotdisableordeletethiscode,butyou
canchangeitintheuserapp.Usethiscodetoprogramallotheraccesscodes,
includingtheduresscodes.Youcanusethiscodetodoalluser-levelfunctions,
excepttoaccessInstallermode.
User Codes Therearethreeaccesslevelsforusercodes:

condition.Atthislevel,theTroubleindicatorflashesthreetimeswithapause,then

Ifthereismorethanonezoneintrouble,eachzonenumberwillflashinsequenceuntilyouexitthe
troublemenuorwhenthetimeexpires.Atthislevel,theTroubleindicatorflashesthreetimeswith
apause,thenrepeats.
