NOTES
Please read the instruction manual thoroughly before using
your new appliance. It is important to keep these instructions
as a useful reminder that’ll help you enjoy the many features
available. If the appliance becomes faulty during regular use,
it should only be repaired by an authorised service engineer.
The manufacturer is not responsible if the appliance becomes
damaged or defective as a result of the user not following the
information included in the instruction manual.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
The following safety instructions must be followed
when using the appliance.
Please read this section very carefully!
Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide
safety rules for every specific situation, so we ask you to apply
commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a
situation that isn’t described below.
•
The appliance has been engineered for household use only, no
other (heavy duty, catering kitchen) uses are allowed.

EN
HBLX-190
5
EN
• Never use the appliance outdoors.
Attention! Whenever the work is finished and the
appliance is no longer in use, or when during work
the hand blender is put down, for safety reasons
always unplug the power connector from the mains or
extension cable.
• This device is not supposed to be used by physically or
mentally handicapped people, or persons without experience
or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a
person supervises or guides their use of the device, who is at
the same time responsible for their safety. As for children,
supervision is recommended to make sure that they do not
play with the device. This device is not supposed to be used by
children under the age of 14, not even with supervision!
• The appliance can only be operated on a stable, flat surface.
Always make sure that the appliance cannot slide off the
surface where it has been placed during operation and that
will not fall into any dish containing liquid or into the sink.
Should the appliance by chance fall into liquid during use (or
get wet) never reach for it, but unplug the connector of the
appliance from the mains and only then lift it out of the liquid
and take it to specialist engineer for checking.

HBLX-190
6
• In order to avoid electric shock never let the handle (which is
also the motor casing), electric cord or plug get into water or
other liquid.
• You must not attach or otherwise use any additional parts that
are not recommended by the manufacturer. Using them may
cause an accident or other problems with the appliance.
• Never lay the mains cable beside or across sharp edges or
hot surfaces. Never wrap the mains cable around the cover
of the appliance, do not pull the cable and do not lift the
appliance with the mains cable because the cable can break
or the insulation can be damaged. A damaged cable must be
replaced by an authorised service engineer. The appliance
must not be used or connected to a wall socket if the cable is
damaged.
• Don’t put the appliance near hot objects (e.g. oven, hob,
heating appliance etc.) or on any hot surface.
Don’t place the appliance anywhere it could slide down, fall or
be knocked off accidentally.
Never have the hand blender rest on the wide head of the
stainless steel attachment as this position is unstable.
• Do not touch the appliance with moist hands. Plug the
connector of the appliance into the mains with dry hands

EN
HBLX-190
7
only, and check that the casing, power cord and connector of
the appliance as well as the mains socket are dry. Should any
moisture get under the casing of the appliance stop using it
immediately and take it to a specialist engineer for checking or
repair.
• The pushbuttons that operate the appliance require
continuous pressure during operation, therefore if they are
released during work (e.g. when the appliance is put down for
a moment), the motor unit stops.
• Always make sure that the appliance cannot slide off the
surface where it was placed when out of use and that it will
not fall into any dish containing liquid or into the sink.
Should the appliance fall into any kind of liquid during
operation do not grasp it, first disconnect it from the mains
and only remove it from the liquid when the power has been
disconnected. Take it to specialist engineer for checking and
repair.
• Before connecting the appliance to the mains, check that and
stainless steel attachment is properly connected and locked.
Only fully assembled appliances should be connected to the
mains. Never remove the attachment while the household
appliance is in operation or is connected to the mains.

HBLX-190
8
Make sure the motor has stopped completely and unplug the
power cable from the mains before starting to remove the
attachment.
• Do not allow anything to fall into the appliance and do not
push anything into the opening of the appliance as the
appliance could be damaged and could cause electrical shock.
• Don’t use the appliance in the presence of explosive or
inflammable gases, vapours or liquids.
• Avoid using the blender where it would be subjected to very
high or low temperatures, jarring or vibration.
Do not use it in a wet or damp environment.
The appliance can be operated and stored at temperatures
between +5 and +40 °C.
Attention! The appliance and its accessories cannot be
washed in a dishwasher.
For cleaning read the chapter “Maintenance and
cleaning”.
Attention! The blades of the stainless steel attachment
are very sharp and turn at high speed; so they can cause
severe injuries if not used according to the instructions.
Never operate the hand blender without attaching

EN
HBLX-190
9
the blending attachment or with the blades turning in
the air (without being immersed in food). Never turn
the blending attachment or blades of the appliance
towards people standing nearby, not even when it is
disconnected! Never touch moving parts.
Take care to avoid your hands, clothing, and other
appliances or tools used coming close to the moving
parts of the operating appliance, thereby preventing
accident hazards and damage to the appliance. Avoid
loose-fitting clothing and don’t wear jewellery (chains,
bracelets, etc.) during work. If your hair is long, wear a
scarf or cap when using the appliance.
In order to avoid any food spilling from the mixing
beaker or bowl during processing always turn the hand
blender on only when it is already immersed in the dish
filled with food (or ingredients).
Do not use the appliance to process solid food. The hand
blender can only be used to process liquid food (liquids,
creams, sauces, dips). Make sure that during use the
food to be processed covers the blade in the wider part
of the stainless steel attachment. Never use the hand
blender to crush ice cubes or prepare ice slush!

HBLX-190
10
• Be especially careful when mixing warm liquids or food
because liquid spilled accidentally represents a scalding
hazard. When mixing hot food be sure to remove the dish
with the food from the stove before starting. Avoid mixing
food hotter then 80 °C with the hand blender, as the appliance
could be damaged if the attachment comes into contact with
higher temperature food; the manufacturer shall not be liable
for appliances damaged under these circumstances.
• Always clean the blender after use, if possible immediately
after the work is finished. This is important for the hygienic use
of the appliance and also because the blending attachment
of an appliance whose cleaning has been neglected can be
damaged by the dried food remains. During cleaning do
not put the handle with the motor under running water or
immerse it in water. Besides cleaning the blending attachment
and blades directly after use all other cleaning should only be
carried out with the appliance unplugged.
Please respect the environment when the appliance
reaches the end of its life. Electrical products must not
be disposed of with other residential waste because they
can damage the natural world and may be hazardous to
human health.

EN
HBLX-190
11
You should dispose of the appliance at an appropriate
recycling site or by using a collection service that
specialises in electrical appliances.
• If your appliance is damaged or operates in an abnormal way,
immediately stop using it and take it to an authorised service
engineer for checking, repair or adjustment.
• The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage
that results from overuse, incorrect operation, incorrect
maintenance, neglecting the information given in the
instruction manual or normal wear and tear. In addition, the
manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by any
parts of the appliance breaking or cracking.
The power cord and plug of the appliance must not be
altered in any way nor extended. If the power cable
is too short, use a standard, commercially available
extension cable of minimum 10 Amp load capacity
(cables with lower load capacity could heat up during
use). When positioning the extension cable take care to
avoid creating a trip hazard.
• Never use the appliance with its power cable damaged, if
operation is erratic or it is otherwise damaged. In these cases
take the appliance to a specialised service station for checking,

HBLX-190
12
repair or adjustment. Only skilled experts in the service station
are authorised to repair the appliance.
• You must not disassemble the appliance, remove its cover or
to try to repair it. Ignoring this advice could cause a serious
accident. There are no parts in the appliance that can be
repaired at home or used for any other purpose. Never operate
the appliance with a damaged mains cable or connector. Do
not use the appliance if it fails to work normally or if it has
been dropped or damaged. If the appliance becomes faulty
for any reason or if any moisture is allowed inside, take it
to an authorised service engineer for checking and repair.
Only service engineers who have been trained and approved
should repair the appliance. The manufacturer cannot take any
responsibility for unauthorised repairs or for any circumstances
resulting from not following the instructions.
• Special instructions:
The appliance was engineered wait for intermittent
use. It is very important to wait for at least 10 minutes
after a maximum 1 minute of operation. If the blended
material is denser than average or when chopping,
reduce the time of use to even less then the 1 minute
operation. During pauses always unplug the appliance.

EN
HBLX-190
13
Disregard for the instruction about pauses can result
in damage to the appliance and will be considered
improper use.
The manufacturer will not be held liable for any
failure of the appliance caused by or originating
from exceeding the time established for continuous
operation or non compliance with the times prescribed
for waiting. The manufacturer will also not be liable
for damage to the blending blades and the drive of the
blending blades caused by improper use (e.g. improper
cleaning, maintenance, dry running), or overload (e.g.
damages caused by accidental or deliberate processing
of hard materials).
Please keep this instruction manual. If you give the
appliance to anyone else, you must give them this
instruction manual, too!

15
4. If the blender is to be stored within its wall mounting bracket,
ensure that this bracket is installed where the mounted
blender will not hamper kitchen work or be dislodged, while
being adequately distant from hot surfaces and objects. For
example do not position the appliance above a stove, oven or
hotplate. Also, do not mount the bracket above a sink, from
where the appliance or power cord could fall into the water.
Always unplug the appliance before storing it in its wall
mounting bracket.
How to use the appliance
1. Insert the stainless steel attachment into the unplugged
handle and motor base so that the attachment’s shaft
connector fits into the star profile drive connecting piece
at the bottom of the base; then turn it clockwise until the
bayonet lock secures the attachment tightly to the base. When
disassembling the unplugged appliance remove the blending
attachment from the base by turning it in the opposite
direction, anti-clockwise.
2. Add all the ingredients into a good sized bowl or the
measuring beaker and then immerse the stainless steel blade
of the appliance into these ingredients. Plug the appliance
power cord into a mains socket and press one of the two

HBLX-190

operating buttons to start blending. Use the smaller diameter
button for low speed and performance, and the larger
diameter button for higher speed and performance blending.
Notes:
- for safety reasons the operating buttons have to be
continuously pressed down during work,
- when selecting a mixing bowl be sure that the side walls are
sufficiently high to prevent any spillage of the ingredients or
liquids during blending; be sure that the ingredients will not
spill even when using the stage 2 higher speed for blending.
3. When blending is completed turn the hand blender off by
releasing the operating button, wait until the blades stop and
only then lift out the appliance from the bowl.
4. When the work has been finished the cleaning of the appliance
should begin without delay; have a dish nearby with water
and soft, neutral detergent prepared in advance. Immerse the
blending attachment into the cleaning liquid and operate the
appliance for a few minutes. Then immerse it in another dish
with clean water and rinse the detergent residues from the
blending attachment.

EN

5. After use remove the power cord of the appliance from the
mains. It is recommended to clean the appliance after work as
soon as possible.
Practical advices for the use of the appliance
• For optimal results move the blending attachment around in
the ingredients.
• Before making fruit puree: cut the fruits into small pieces and
add a little liquid (e.g. milk) to the mix before blending. Clean
the fruits before starting the work; if the fruits have seeds,
remove them.
• Do not blend ice or other solid matter (e.g. seeds) with the
blender.
• When preparing mayonnaise pour all ingredients into the
beaker then push the attachment of the hand blender to the
bottom of the beaker and move it evenly up and down again.
• Make sure that the food to be blended always covers the
lower, wide part (blade guard) of the attachment during work.

1. Clean the outside cover of the appliance with a damp, soft,
lint-free cloth and then wipe the cleaned surfaces with a dry
lint-free cloth. Take care not to allow any moisture inside the
cover. Let the appliance dry completely before re-using or
storing it.
2. Never use solvents (acetone, benzene, petrol etc.) to clean the
appliance because these materials could dissolve the plastic
cover and damage the internal components. Do not use harsh
or abrasive cleaning agents.
3. Never remove the casing or dismantle the blender.
4. If the appliance will not be used for a longer time, after
cleaning put it in a nylon bag and store it in a dust, humidity
