This section uses the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as
an example to explain the basic operations for viewing
the PDF in Adobe Reader.

For Windows
Right click on a page in the PDF manual and select
Find in the menu that is displayed to open the

Select Find in the Edit menu to open the search

FTo enlarge text in the display that is too small to
see well, click . Click to reduce the size. To
specify a part of an illustration or screenshot to
enlarge, do the following.
For Windows
Right click on the page in the PDF manual
and select Marquee Zoom in the menu that is
displayed. The pointer changes to a magnifying
glass, and you can use it to specify the range of the
place you want to enlarge.

order to change the pointer to a magnifying glass.

Using the Printer
Overview
This section explains the process from loading cotton media on the supplied platen to printing with color ink only.
To use the optional platen or print with White ink, see the User’s Guide (Online Manual).
Work Item Summary
ACreating/Sending Jobs Send the job created by laying out images in Garment Creator 2, to this
printer.
See the Garment Creator 2 manual for more details.

When using the platen for the first time, attach the grip pad supplied
beforehand.

CPrinting Confirm that the job has been received and the lamp on the xbutton on
the printer is lit before you start printing.

DFixing the Ink Remove the T-shirt from the printer, and then fix the ink in a heat press or
oven.
The optimum conditions vary depending on the media fabric or the
device for fixing ink.
See the User's Guide (Online Manual) for more details.
Note:
In the following situations, you need to apply a pre-treatment liquid to the printing surface before loading the media.
❏When printing White ink on cotton media
❏When printing on polyester media (in any ink color)
Applying a pre-treatment liquid will fix the ink to the T-shirt and improve the color development.

Attaching a Grip Pad
A
Only peel off one section on the back of the
grip pad as shown in the illustration.
B
Place the platen on a flat surface, align the
corners of the grip pad so they are slightly
inside the corners of the platen, and then fasten
the adhesive side of the grip pad to the platen.
Do not allow the corners of the grip pad
from which the back has not been removed to
protrude from the edges of the other side of the
platen.
C
Gently press on the section from which the
back has been peeled off the grip pad to stick
the grip pad onto the platen.
D
Peel off all of the other sections on the back of
the grip pad as shown in the illustration.
E
Stick it from the end that is already stuck, as
shown in the illustration.

Loading the T-shirt
(media)

Press the Pbutton to turn on the printer.
B
Hold the supplied platen so that the hanger is
facing you, and insert it so that the shaft of the
platen fits into the slot.
Note:
If the platen does not move forward, press the }
button to move it forward.

On the printer's screen, confirm that Platen
Gap is set to Auto.
D
Loosen the fixing lever.
E
Move the lever clockwise to set the scale to P.
When the scale is at P, the platen is at its
highest position; the platen position lowers as
the number increases.
Moving the lever in the counterclockwise
direction increases the numbers, which lowers
the platen position.
Moving the lever in the clockwise direction
decreases the numbers, which raises the platen
position.

Tighten the fixing lever, and then secure the
platen gap lever.

Slide the hem of the T-shirt over the platen
from the front.
The line inside the frame in the illustration
indicates the center of the platen.

Pull the parts of the shirt that extend beyond
the platen to flatten the print surface.

Important:
Do not pull too hard on the T-shirt. If
the T-shirt is stretched too much, the print
quality may decline due to deformed images
and so on, and the white under-base print
may extend outside the image.

I
Remove any lint from the printing surface, and
press the fibers flat.
There may be lint on the T-shirt if you have
not applied pre-treatment liquid. Remove the
lint using the sticky tape or roller and press the
fibers flat using the hard roller. Lint and fibers
may stick to the print head and stain other
areas.

Remove any slack or creases from the printing
surface and make it flat.

Important:
The printer detects the highest part of the
print surface. If there is any slack or creasing
as shown in the illustration below, the
distance between the print head and the print
surface may increase and print quality may
decline. Flatten the T-shirt so that there is no
slack or creasing.
Use the grip pad tool supplied to flatten the
printing surface. The T-shirt sticks to the grip
on the platen keeping it flat and preventing it
from moving during printing.
