Assembling ready for use
The Ewbank VC600 4 can be used as a handheld
vacuum cleaner and as an upright stick-vac.
Floor brush and crevice tool accessories can
be added by inserting the required accessory
into the waste chamber inlet. Simply insert
the accessory in a straight line into the waste
chamber inlet (Fig. 1).
We recommend a light spray of polish or other
lubricant spray into the inlet of the waste
chamber to make this easier. Do not twist either
the Ewbank VC600 or the accessory while
inserting or removing an accessory.
Extension handle
The extension handle can be added to convert
the Ewbank VC600 to a stick vacuum.
The handle and extension wand are delivered
disconnected inside the product packaging. To
assemble the extension handle, pull the pin from
the handle by unscrewing it until it comes away
completely. Next t the handle onto the shaft so
that the holes in the shaft match the holes on
the handle. Ensure the single hole on the other
end faces forwards. Attach the hook and screw
the pin all the way in
To attach the extension handle to the body of
the VC600, hold the vac body by its handle and
push the extension handle into the body (Fig. 2).
Push the handle in until an audible “click” is
heard. To remove the handle, fully depress button
‘A’ on the top of the unit and pull the handle out
of the hole, releasing the button once the handle
is clear of the unit.
To remove, pull out in a straight line.
Remember to ensure the lter and pre-lter are
tted before use

Important Care Advice
The VC600 is a powerful highly efcient, yet lightweight and portable vacuum
cleaner. The powerful suction will remove the smallest particles of dust and
dirt from your carpets and upholstery. To prevent the unit from overheating and
to maintain the efciency of the VC600 the lter MUST BE cleaned regularly.
The waste chamber is transparent to enable you to see accumulated dirt and
debris (Fig. 10). When this happens the efciency of the motor unit is reduced
and the waste chamber must be emptied and the lter assembly cleaned.
A blocked lter will restrict airow to the motor
which can start overheating.
This will become apparent as the noise of the motor will become higher pitch.
If this happens stop the unit and then clean the lter.
As a safety precaution the motor is designed to cut out in the event of
overheating. Please allow the unit to cool sufciently for up to one hour before
restarting.
Handheld Use
Use without accessories as a
handheld vac.
• Perfect for tidying up after meals,
vacuuming upholstery, stairs and
anywhere that needs a quick clean
up (Fig. 3).
Using the crevice tool
• Ideal for cleaning inside edges
of sofas/arm chairs. Great for
window cills. (Fig. 4).
Using the oor head.
• Use with the oor head to
clean carpets, rugs and any types
of bare oor (Fig. 5).

Emptying the waste chamber and
caring for your lter
Disconnect the VC600 from the power socket-
outlet and remove any accessory attached to the
unit. Depress the waste chamber release button B
(Fig. 6). While holding the release button, separate
the chamber from the main body. Remove the pre-
lter and lter body from the chamber and empty
the waste from the chamber (Fig. 7). The chamber
can be rinsed out with warm (not hot) soapy water
if necessary. Ensure that the chamber is dry before
re-assembly.
Filter cleaning - we recommend the lter and pre-
lter are checked and cleaned each time the waste
chamber is emptied.
The VC600 lter has 2 separate parts, an outer pre-
lter foam which ts over the pleated lter The
pre-lter will collect larger particles and prevent
these from becoming lodged in the grooves of the
pleated lter. Clean regularly.
To clean the lter separate the two parts, pulling
the foam pre-lter off, then gently shake, tap or
brush the pleated lter to remove dust particles
and debris from the grooves (Fig. 8). The outer pre-
lter can be brushed and tapped to remove debris
around the lter (Fig. 9).
All parts of the lter assembly are suitable for
gentle washing in warm (not hot) water. Do not
use detergent. Allow to dry naturally for 24 hours
before retting to the VC600. Ensure all parts have
fully dried before reassembly.
Only use the VC600with both parts of the lter
assembly in place.

Trouble shooting
If an accessory does not remove easily when pulled (in a
straight line) from the VC600 unit, then squeeze the inlet of
the accessory and pull away from the body of the unit or put
a small amount of hot water into the bottom of the waste
container - this will release the accessory.
