The safety alert symbol appears above
information which alerts you to unsafe actions or
situations and will be followed by the word
DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION.
DANGER: White lettering / Red background.
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation
which, if not avoided, Will result in death or
serious injury.
WARNING: Black lettering / Orange
background. Indicates a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, Could result in
death or serious injury.
CAUTION: Black lettering / Yellow
background. Indicates a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, May result in
minor or moderate injury.
Important calls attention to special mechanical
information and Note emphasizes general
information worthy of special attention.
WARNING
While maintenance or adjustments are
being made, someone could start the
engine. Accidental starting of the engine
could seriously injure you or other
bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition switch
and engage parking brake before you do any
maintenance.
Note: Determine the left and right sides of the
machine from the normal operating position.
Installing the Jack Mount Kit

1. Stop the engine, wait for all moving parts to
stop, and remove key. Engage parking brake.
2. Remove and retain the UltraVac counter
weight(s) if so equipped, the front floorpan and
floorpan liftout panel (which may be hinged in
older models) (see Figure 4).

3. Place the jack mount bracket (item 2) onto the
front frame as shown in Figure 1.
4. Install the jack mount receiver (item 4) onto
the jack mount bracket and secure with two
3/8-16 x 3 inch carriage bolts (item 3) and two
3/8-16 flanged nyloc nuts (item 1).

5. Insert the jack mount (item 6) into the
receiver. Two sets of mounting holes are
provided on the jack mount; see Figures 5 and
6 to determine the appropriate mounting hole.
Once the hole is aligned with the receiver,
secure with the clevis pin (item 7) and hairpin
(item 5).

6. Reinstall the front floor pan assembly and
UltraVac counter weights if so equipped.
WARNING
This jack mount kit is intended for use with
the mower as described in this instruction
sheet. Other uses may cause failure of frame
members and drive system which could
cause serious injury or death.
OUsing the jack mount kit for uses other
than as described is not approved by
Exmark.
ODo Not use jack mount kit as a tow
hitch.
OUse jack mount kit with an approved
Exmark jack kit.
Using the Jack Kit
The jack kit raises the front end of the mower to
allow you to clean under the mower deck and
change the blades.
WARNING
The mower could fall onto someone and
cause serious injury or death.
ORead and understand the operator’s
manual before performing maintenance.
OAlways turn the engine off, set the
parking brake and remove the key
before performing any maintenance to
the mower.
ODo Not keep the mower raised on the
jack for extended periods of time.
OAlways use a jack on a level surface.
OEnsure the jack is secured properly to
the mount using the jack pin.
OThis jack is intended for use with the
mower as described in this instruction
sheet. Other uses may cause unseen
damage or failure of the jack.
ODo Not rely solely on the jack for
support. Use adequate jack stands or
equivalent support.
ODo Not mount or dismount the mower
while the jack is raised.
OPrior to each use, inspect jack and
mount kit for proper working function
and no visible signs of damage.
1. Only use the Exmark approved jack(s) rated at
2,000 lbs or higher lift capacity with Exmark
jack mount.
2. Stop the engine, wait for all moving parts to
stop, and remove key. Engage parking brake.
3. Raise the mower deck to the transport
position.
4. Insert the jack tube onto the jack mount, align
the mounting holes, and secure with the jack
pin (see Figure 7).

5. Crank the handle on the jack to raise the
mower until the jack is completely vertical.
6. Lower the mower onto the jack stands or
equivalent support.
7. Perform the maintenance.
8. When maintenance is completed, remove the
jack stands or equivalent support.
9. Crank the handle on the jack to lower the
mower.
10. Remove and store the jack. The jack mount
(item 6, Figure 1) may also be removed for
mowing clearance.
Important: The mower is not designed to
store the jack when it is not being used.
Do Not drive the mower with the jack
installed.
