Removing the Front Bezel
The ARX 4000 employs a highly modular design that allows several key components to be replaced on
a FRU basis. Several of these FRU’s can only be reached by removing the Front Bezel.
Step 1 Remove front bezel
Using the two cutouts on the lower half on either side of the data plane pull gently on the bezel

Replacing a X2 module
Preparation
Before beginning ensure that the Field Tech understands that work will be done only on the
Backup Switch.
Verify that the Tech can identify the Backup and the Active and the active switch is fully
functional.
Ensure the correct X2 module needs to be replaced. There are two X2 modules 2/1 and 2/2.
They are labeled as such on the bottom of the slot. 2/1 is the left-most and 2/2 is the right-
most, if facing the front of the switch.
Removing a X2 module
Take the Field Tech through the following steps:
Step 1 Tag the cable so that it will be easily identifiable later
Step 2 Remove the fiber optic cable from the X2 module
Step 3 Grasp both sides of the locking mechanism
Step 4 Pull forward on the locking mechanism

Step 1 Place the X2 module into the slow heat sink side up
