2. Operation
Switch in "Off" position.
Main vo ltage must correspond to the operating voltage marked
on the rating plate .
To prevent the overbridging of the insulation no additional
marking plates and signs must be riveted or screwed. We re-
commend the use of transfers.
Grinding wheels: Only use grinding wheels with the admissible
peripheral speed. In any case pay attention to your local safety
regulations on the use of grinding wheels.
3. Maintenance and lubrication
Pull out the plug before carrying out any maintenance work.
After 100 working hours clean air openings of the motor hous-
ing. Blow out motor with dr y pneumatic air.
After 900 working hours clean machine thoroughly. Rinse ball
bearings in clean solvent and pack with fresh grease for ball
bearings FK 3 (tube with ca . 11h oz [40 g), order reference MZ
60-2/FK 3).
Fill space between inner and outer ring only one
third with grease. Dismantling see paragraph 4.

Clean electric parts only dry.
Replace carbon brushes when they have worn down to 7 mm
(0.28 in). To replace brushes see paragraph 4, sections 1 and 2.
Only use "Fein" carbon brushes.
After fitting new brushes, run tool unloaded for about 15 min .
Check cable at regular intervals. To exchange cable see para-
graph 4, section 3.
No claims can be entertained for damage due to negligent main-
tenance and lubrication.
4. Dismantling of the machine
The tool should only be taken apart by an expert!
1. Unscrew screws (12), remove cover (11) .
2. Clamp off carbon cable and pull carbon brushes (5) out of
holder.
3. Unscrew screw (109), remove switch lever (108) . Unscrew
screws (106, 63), push back handle. Clamp off cable from
switch (102).

4. Unscrew screws (64), remove grinding wheel spindle bearing
(35) and intermediate ring (59), pull intermediate bearing (55)
with armature (25) out of motor housing (1). Draw out
clutch (58).
5. Loosen protecting sleeve (48), draw out clutch (47), remove
fitting key (46). Draw out driving shaft (37). Take off circlip
Seeger (43) and flat spring (42) from driving shaft, remove
ball bearing (41).

Draw ring (10) out of motor housing, unscrew screws (9) and
take out pole housing (7).
7. Unscrew scre ws (4) and remo ve carbon holder.
5. Repair and spare parts

haul and repair work quickly and expertly.
