F2 Backrest Adjusting Lever

Description
This kit includes a backrest adjusting lever for use with the F2 Monobloc
Ambulance Cot.
This manual includes parts and instructions for removing and installing
a backrest adjusting lever.
Tools Required Qty.
5 mm Hex Wrench 1 ea.
10 mm Open End Wrench 1 ea.
Parts Supplied Qty.
Backrest Adjusting Lever 1 ea.
Spring 1 ea.
Screw 1 ea.
Washer 2 ea.
Lock Nut 1 ea.

Removing the Backrest Adjusting Lever
1. Raise the backrest to its highest position.
2. Using the 5 mm hex wrench and the 10 mm open end wrench,
remove and discard the backrest adjusting lever, spring, screw,
washers and lock nut (Figure 1).

Compress the lever against the backrest tube
to relieve tension. This helps with removing the
screw.

Installing the New Backrest Lever
1. Insert the 90 degree leg of the spring into the backrest adjusting
lever (Figure 2). The long end of the spring is held by the slot.
2. Hold the spring in place. Compress the long end of the spring
against the backrest tube and align the screw holes.
3. Place the lever assembly into the mount (Figure 3). Hold in place
as you complete step 4.

Start high in the backrest tube bracket, then
slide down.
Use an assistant as necessary.

4. Place a washer on the screw and insert the screw through the
lever assembly as shown in Figure 4.
5. Place the second washer on the other end of the screw and thread
the lock nut (Figure 4).
6. Tighten the screw and lock nut.
7. Check the function of the new backrest adjustment lever. Conrm
the backrest can be adjusted to each locking position.
