Thefield busmodule typeSPC200−COM−DN2enables the
SPC200 tobecoupled as aslavetotheDeviceNet field bus.
Maximumonefield busmodule may beinstalled on the
SPC200.
This manual containsinformation on installing, commission
ing and diagnosing theDeviceNet field bus.
Basic componentsand modules for theSPC200 aredescribed
in thesystem manual typeP.BE−SPC200−... Thesafety instruc
tionsspecified in themanuals must alwaysbeobserved and
therelevant componentsand modules must only beused as
intended. Please observealso thesafety instructionsin the
operating instructionsfor thecomponentsused.
TheSPC200 and themodules and cables tobeconnected are
only tobeused as follows:
in accordance with designated use
only in industrial applications
without any modificationsby theuser. Only theconver
sionsor modificationsdescribed in thedocumentation
supplied with theproduct arepermitted.

When used together with commercially available compo
nents, such as sensorsand actuators, thespecified limitsfor

This manual is intended exclusively for technicianstrained in
control and automation technology, whohaveexperience in
installing, commissioning, programming and diagnosing
DeviceNet slaves.

DeviceNet IO": Ifyou set this protocol variant, you can
start programs or NCrecord numbersas with alocal I/O
module. Thescopeof functionsthereforecorrespondsto
thepredecessor module typeSPC200−COM−CAN.

scopeof functionsof theDeviceNet I/Oand also further
functions, e.g. downloading actual positions, specifying

Operating modes TheSPC200 offers, as with control via an I/Omodule, two
operating modes even via thefield bus:
Start/Stop mode:
Hereyou can start or stop programs which aresaved in
theSPC200. TheSPC200 can then carry out theposition
ing tasksindependently.
Record Select mode:
Thecompletesequence control is managed by thePLC/
IPC. Up to1000 NCrecordscan beaccessed via thefield
busmodule.
Theoperating modecan only beset via WinPISA. Detailed
information can befound in thesystem manual for the
SPC200 (comparedocumentation overview Tab.0/2).
