1 User instructionsEnglish
The field bus node CPX-FB6 for CPX terminals is intended
exclusively for use as a slave on the Interbus.
The maximum values specified in the section “Technical
specifications” must be observed here. Detailed informa
tion can be found in the manual for the field bus node
P.BE-CPX-FB6-.. as well as in the CPX system manual
P.BE-CPX-SYS-.. .
Warning
SSwitch off the power supply before connecting or
disconnecting plugs (otherwise this could lead to
functional damage).
SUse only power units which guarantee reliable
isolation of the operating voltages as per IEC 742/
EN60742/VDE 0551 with at least 4 kV isolation resis
tance (Protected Extra Low Voltage PELV). Switch
power packs are permitted, providing they guarantee
reliable isolation in accordance with EN 60950/
VDE 0805.
SConnect an earth conductor of sufficient cross-sec
tional area to the connection on the CPX terminal
marked with the earth symbol.
SThe CPX field bus node contains electrostatically
sensitive components. Do not therefore touch any
contacts. Observe the regulations for handling elec
trostatically sensitive components.
Please note
Commission only a CPX terminal which has been fitted
and wired completely.

In normal operating status all green LEDs light up; the yellow and red
LEDs do not light up.
Without a field bus connection the LEDs UL, RD, PS and PL light up.

3 Installation instructions
3.1 Fitting
Field bus node CPX-FB6 is mounted in a manifold sub-base
of the CPX terminal.

Dismantling
SRemove the screws and carefully lift up the field bus
node.
Fitting
1. Check the seal and sealing surfaces and refit the sub-
base.
2. Place the screws so that the self-cutting threads are
used. Tighten the screws by hand in diagonally oppo
site sequence. Tightening torque 0.9...1.1 Nm.

1) Protocol chip SUPI3-OPC guarantees automatic recognition as to
whether further Interbus slaves are connected. A bridge between
pins 5 and 9 is not therefore necessary.
2) The incoming interface is electrically isolated from the CPX periph
ery. The plug housing is connected to the FE of the CPX terminal by
means of an R/C combination.
3) The plug housing is connected to the FE of the CPX terminal.

3.4 Power supply for the CPX terminal
The operating and load voltage supplies for the CPX ter
minal are provided via manifold sub-bases. These transmit
the operating and load voltages to the neighbouring mod
ules.
