Function and application
The (V)PE-... contains a chamber with a
diaphragm.
This diaphragm is subjected to pressure
forces (with PE-...)/tensile forces (with
VPE-...) on one side, and to the clamp-
ing force of the springs on the other
side. If the pressure or vacuum forces
are increased in excess of the clamping
force, a piston connected to the dia-
phragm will move and actuate a
changeover switch.
The (V)PE-... can be used as a nor-
mally-closed, normally-open or change-
over switch. It has been designed for
converting pneumatic pressure values
into electrical signals which are used for
control or monitor functions.
Funktion und Anwendung
Der (V)PE-... enthält eine Kammer mit
einer Membran.
An dieser Membrane wirken auf der
einen Seite Druckkräfte (bei PE-...)/Zug-
kräfte (bei VPE-...), auf der anderen die
Spannkraft der Feder. Bei Erhöhung der
Druck- oder Vakuumkräfte über die Fe-
derkraft hinaus, bewegt sich ein mit der
Membran verbundener Kolben und
betätigt einen elektrischen Schalter.
Der (V)PE-... ist als Schließer, Öffner
oder Wechsler einsetzbar. Er dient be-
stimmungsgemäß zur Umwandlung
pneumatischer Druckwerte in elektrische
Signale, die für Steuerungs- oder Über-
wachungsfunktionen gebraucht werden.

•Remove all packing material such as
protective wax, foils, caps and car-
tons.
The individual materials can be dis-
posed of in separate containers for
recycling purposes.
•Use the product in its original state
without undertaking any modifications.
Fitting
Mechanical components
•Select the suitable fastening method:
a) by means of through holes

the housing or
b) by fitting into the following Festo
mounting frames:
type NRRQ-1N for (V)PE-...-1N
type NRRQ-2N for (V)PE-...-2N.
•Fasten the (V)PE-... in the intended
position.
•Entfernen Sie alle Transportvorke-
hrungen wie Schutzwachs, Folien,
Kappen, Kartonagen.
Die Entsorgung der einzelnen Werk-
stoffe in Recycling-Sammelbehälter
ist möglich.
•Verwenden Sie das Produkt im Origi-
nalzustand ohne jegliche eigen-
mächtige Veränderung.
Einbau
mechanisch
•Wählen Sie die geeignete Befesti-
gungsart:
a) Durchgangsbohrungen

b) Einbau in folgende Festo-Montage-
rahmen:
Typ NRRQ-1N für (V)PE-...-1N
Typ NRRQ-2N für (V)PE-...-2N.
•Befestigen Sie den (V)PE-... an der

Warnung:

2. Schutzkappe vorsichtig zusammen-
drücken, bis beide Schnapphaken (A)
und (B) einrasten (Schnapphaken
nicht abbrechen).

Inbetriebnahme
•Schalten Sie die Betriebsspannung
ein.
•Belüften Sie den Druckluftanschluß
mit dem Druck, der als Schaltdruck
benötigt wird oder evakuieren Sie
den Vakuumanschluß mit dem
Vakuum, das als Schaltvakuum
benötigt wird.
•Prüfen Sie die Funktion durch Verän-
dern des anliegenden Drucks oder
Vakuums.
Wartung und Pflege
Zur Reinigung:
•Schalten Sie die Betriebsspannung
ab.
Commissioning
•Switch on the operating voltage.
•Pressurize the compressed air con-
nection with the pressure required
as the switching pressure, or evacua-
te the vacuum required as the swit-
ching vacuum.
•Check the function by modifying the
pressure or vacuum applied.
Care and maintenance
Cleaning
•Switch off the operating voltage.

•Reinigen Sie bei Bedarf den (V)PE-...
Zulässige Reinigungsmedien sind:
– Seifenlauge (max. + 60 oC)
– alle werkstoffschonenden Medien.
Ausbau und Reparatur
Zum Ausbau:
•Schalten Sie folgende Energien ab:
– Betriebsspannung
– Druckluft
– Vakuum.
Zur Demontage der Schutzkappe (Typ
siehe "Zubehör"):
•Vollziehen Sie folgende Schritte:
1. Schnapphaken (A) vorsichtig nach
außen biegen (nicht abbrechen), dann
2. Schnapphaken (B) drücken und
3. Schutzkappe auseinanderziehen.
•Trennen Sie die jeweiligen An-
schlüsse vom (V)PE-... .
•If necessary, clean the (V)PE-....
Permitted cleaning agents are:
– soap suds (max. + 60 oC)
– all non-abrasive agents.
Dismantling and repairs
Dismantling
•Switch off the following sources of
power:
– the operating voltage
– the compressed air
– the vacuum.
Dismantling the protective cap (Type
see "Accessories")
•Proceed as follows:
1. Carefully press hook (A) outwards
(do not break off).
2. Press hook (B).
3. Pull the protective cap apart.
•Disconnect the relevant connections
from the (V)PE-... .
