Notes • Please keep this manual for future refer-
ence, as it contains important information.
• Adult assembly is required to replace the
batteries. Tool needed for battery replace-
ment: Phillips screwdriver (not included).
• When sounds from this toy become faint
or stop working, it’s time for an adult to
replace the batteries!
• Requires four “AA” batteries for
operation (included).
• Rotate the volume dial to a comfortable
listening level.
• There are 26 letter tiles. One side has a
raised letter of the alphabet along with
the Braille letter. The other side has a pic-
ture of a word associated with that letter.
• The words shown in bold, italic quotes
are sample responses. The toy may
respond differently, depending on which
tile is rolled.

• If the desk does not recognize the tile rolled,
check to see if:
- Tiles are rolled outside a zone of about 1 m (3 feet)
from the sides and front of the desk. Do not roll tiles
behind the desk.
- Your child is playing with the desk in a noisy room
with clicking noises in the background. This toy
recognizes the clicking sounds made from each
tile as it is rolled. If there is another clicking or
tapping noise in the background, the toy will not
be able to identify the tile because of this interfer-
ence. Make sure your child plays with this toy in
a quiet room.
- Your child rolls the tile while the toy is “talking”.
Wait until the toy is finished “talking”.
- Your child has rolled two tiles at the same time.
Roll only one tile at a time.
- Both wheels on the tile do not contact a surface
when rolled.
• If the desk does not recognize the letter rolled, you
will hear a tone. Simply re-roll the tile. This time,
try rolling it slower.
• For best performance, roll the tiles on the desk surface.
• This toy features an automatic shut off, and will turn
off if your child is not actively playing with it after
about 15-30 seconds. You can also turn this toy off
by pressing the power button o/●.

IMPORTANT! To completely remove dry-
erase marker residue from the drawing
surface, wipe it with a damp cloth after
each use. Dry-erase marker images left on
the drawing surface for extended periods of
time should also be removed this way.
• Use only the Fisher-Price®dry-erase
marker with this product. Never use
regular or permanent markers because
they cannot be erased and will damage
the drawing surface.
• Never use the Fisher-Price dry-erase
marker on any other surfaces. The
markings may not erase from porous
surfaces such as cloth, unfinished wood,
matte finish paint, wallpaper, vinyl, etc.

For best performance, we recommend
replacing the batteries that came with
this toy with four, new alkaline “AA”
(LR6) batteries.
• Locate the battery compartment on the
back of the toy.
• Loosen the screws in the battery compart-
ment door with a Phillips screwdriver.
• Lift to remove the battery compart-
ment door.
• Insert four “AA” (LR6) alkaline
batteries as indicated inside the
battery compartment.
• Replace the battery compartment door
and tighten the screws with a Phillips
screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.

• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batteries:
alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or
rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
• Remove the batteries during long periods
of non-use. Always remove exhausted
batteries from the toy. Battery leakage
and corrosion can damage this toy.
Dispose of batteries safely.
• Never short circuit the battery terminals.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to
be recharged.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent
type as recommended in the “Battery
Replacement” instructions are to be used.
• If removable rechargeable batteries are
used, they are only to be charged under

• Si le tableau ne reconnaît pas un carreau glissé,
s’assurer que :
- les carreaux sont glissés sur les côtés ou à l’avant
du tableau, à 1 m maximum de celui-ci. Ne pas
faire glisser les carreaux derrière le tableau;
- l’enfant ne joue pas avec ce produit dans une
pièce bruyante où des cliquetis sont en bruit de
fond. Ce jouet reconnaît les cliquetis faits par
chaque carreau glissé. Si d’autres cliquetis sont
en bruit de fond et produisent des interférences,
le jouet ne peut reconnaître le carreau. S’assurer
que l’enfant joue dans une pièce tranquille;
-Y l’enfant ne fait pas glisser le carreau alors que
le jouet «parle». Il faut attendre que le jouet ait
cessé de « parler »;
- l’enfant ne fait pas glisser deux carreaux à la
fois. Il faut faire glisser un seul carreau à la fois;
- les deux roulettes sous le carreau entrent en
contact avec la surface du tableau.
• Si le tableau ne reconnaît pas la lettre glissée,
il émet un son. Glisser le carreau de nouveau
plus lentement.
• Pour de meilleurs résultats, glisser les carreaux
sur la surface du tableau.
• Ce jouet comporte un système d’arrêt automatique;
il s’éteindra 15 à 30 secondes après que l’enfant

• L’enfant peut se pratiquer
à former les lettres en
traçant celle en relief sur
chaque carreau.
• Puis, il peut utiliser le marqueur
à encre lavable (fourni) pour écrire la lettre
ou faire un dessin sur la surface du jouet !
Remarque : Laisser sécher l’encre du mar-
queur pendant au moins 15 secondes avant
d’y toucher.
• Utiliser un essuie-tout pour nettoyer la
surface du tableau.
IMPORTANT ! Pour enlever le résidu d’encre
lavable sur la surface à dessiner, essuyer
celle-ci avec un linge humide après chaque
utilisation. Les dessins à l’encre lavable
laissés sur la surface à dessiner pendant
de longues périodes peuvent aussi être
éliminés de cette façon.
• Utiliser uniquement le marqueur à encre
lavable Fisher-Price avec ce jouet. Ne
jamais utiliser de marqueurs ordinaires
ou à encre indélébile car leur encre ne
peut être effacée de la surface à dessiner.
• Ne jamais utiliser le marqueur à encre
lavable Fisher-Price sur d’autres surfaces.
Les marques peuvent être difficiles à
enlever sur les surfaces poreuses comme
du tissu, du bois non protégé, de la pein-
ture mate, du papier mural, du vinyle, etc.
