Battery Replacement
For best performance, we recommend replacing the batteries that
came with this toy with three, new alkaline "C" (LR14) batteries.
Battery
Compartment
Door
• Locate the battery compartment
on the bottom of the toy.
• Loosen the screws in the battery
compartment door with a Phillips
screwdriver. Remove the battery
compartment door.
• Insert three "C" (LR14) alkaline
batteries, as indicated inside the
battery compartment.
Hint: We recommend using alkaline
batteries for longer battery life.
• Replace the battery compartment
door and tighten the screws with
a Phillips screwdriver. Do not
over-tighten.
• When sounds or lights from this toy
become faint or stop, it’s time for an
adult to change the batteries!

Battery Tips
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix different types of
batteries: alkaline, standard
(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable
(nickel-cadmium).
• Remove the batteries during long
periods of non-use. Always
remove exhausted batteries from
the toy. Battery leakage and
corrosion can damage this toy.
Dispose of batteries safely.
• Do not dispose of batteries in a
fire.The batteries may explode
or leak.
• Never short circuit the battery
terminals.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are
not to be recharged.
• Only batteries of the same or
equivalent type as recommended
in the "Battery Replacement"
instructions are to be used.
• If removable rechargeable batter-
ies are used, they are only to be
charged under adult supervision.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be
removed from the toy before they
are charged.
• If you use a battery charger, it
should be examined regularly
for damage to the cord, plug,
enclosure and other parts. Do not
use a damaged battery charger
until it has been properly repaired.

Before Use
A plastic tab was attached to the toy for in-store demonstration
purposes.While the tab may have already been removed, check the
back of the toy to be sure. If the plastic tab is still attached, pull and
remove the tab from the toy.Throw the plastic tab away.

Stories, Lights and Music!
• To change modes, slide the power/mode switch to one of the three
positions: stories ; songs or off .
• Slide the switch to stories .
• Drop one of the figures down the
chimney or through the tree
house to hear a short phrase.
• When a page is turned, your
child hears a short story about
the pictures on the pages
as lights flash and the car
travels around.
• Slide the switch to song position .
• Drop one of the figures down the
chimney or through the tree house
to hear a short tune or a fun
sound effect.
• When a page is turned, your child
hears a fun song as the lights flash
and the car travels around.
• Slide the volume switch on the bottom of the toy to: low or high volume.
Hint: If your child is not actively playing with this toy, it turns off
automatically (sleep mode).
• When your child is finished with this toy, slide the power/mode switch to the
off position .
