MANUAL BEFORE ATTEMPTING INSTALLATION.
This installation manual contains important instructions
and safety information about the BKON™Craft Brewer.
Observe the following dangers, warnings, cautions and
notices when installing the BKON Craft Brewer:
Risk of burning or scalding
-Hot water and steam are released repeatedly during
the cleaning cycle.
-Keep hands away from the outlet (purge valve) while
in operation.
-The glass cylinder may be HOT to the touch.
-Do not disconnect “Hot Water” line before purging
lines of hot water or allowing sufficient time for water
in lines to cool.

Making improper changes in the form of modifications or
unauthorized repairs can lead to injury or damage to the

-Programming and settings may only be preformed

EXPLANATION OF SAFETY SYMBOLS
Hot Water System
Possible health hazard from heavy lifting
Lifting heavy objects can cause injury.
-Do not lift or move the machine without appropriate
help or equipment.
Improperly transporting the machine can cause faults or
damage.
-Always transport in an upright position.
-Transport the machine so that it is protected from
the elements, such as rain and moisture.
Using inappropriate tools can damage components of
the machine.

GENERAL
The BKON™Craft Brewer is designed for high volume
use, for the creation of “quick serve / on demand”
drinks prepared by a Barista (operator). The machine
ships from the factory in two parts: tower and supply
center. The tower is where the product is brewed and
dispensed. A brew handle is used to hold product during
a brew cycle.
Cold water should be supplied to the unit. During
a cycle, 8 to 20 oz. of water passes through three
thermoblock heaters (requiring a 208 - 230 volt, 30
amp circuit). Lower temperatures are achieved by
use of a mixing cold water with hot. The BKON Craft
Brewer utilizes a vacuum pump to reduce air pressure
inside the brew cylinder during the brew cycle. A water
supply connection is located on the front of the supply
center and should be connected per national and local
municipality codes and regulations.
PRE-INSTALLATION
1. Water Pressure is very important.
Ensure sure incoming water pressure is between
30 and 90 psi. BKON brewer should not be
installed if pressure is outside this range.
2. Remove BKON™Craft Brewer from shipping
carton
This unit will arrive in a skid-mounted carton.
Examine shipping cartons and unit for damage
prior to unpacking. Immediately photograph any
damage for possible claim purposes.
CAUTION
The shipping container may have staples and will have
banding under tension, which can cause injuries. Wear
gloves and eye protection to reduce the risk of injury
when removing the banding from the carton.
-Cut the plastic banding using heavy scissors or tin
snips.
-Use caution to avoid contact with banding, when
cut.
-Lift cardboard carton straight up and off unit.
3. Leave Unit on Skid Until Ready to Place on
Counter
CAUTION
The unit and shipping skid combined weigh
approximately 185 lbs (84 kg). Do not attempt to remove
it from the shipping skid without assistance or the use of
proper lifting equipment.
PRE-INSTALLATION / DELIVERY
4. Remove Packing & Loose Components
The BKON Craft Brewer unit consists of a brew
tower and a supply center that are all secured
so they will not open or shift during shipping.
The shipment also includes loose components
which include brew handles and brew baskets,
communications cable, lines and hardware.
Remove any other boxes from the shipping skid,
and then remove any tape and foam blocking
securing the components in place.
-Peel the protective white plastic film from all
stainless steel surfaces.
5. Electrical Preparation
Before you set this unit in place, locate the
appropriate 208-volt power outlet. A power
cord with plug is provided attached to the water
vacuum supply center. This power cord is
hardwired into the water vacuum supply center.
6. Plumbing Preparation
Before installing, verify plumbing (water, drain)
and electrical accommodations are provided
at the installation location. Make sure the drain
piping is clear of any leaks or obstructions.
NOTICE
The tower must be mounted on a counter that meets
NSF splash zone requirements.
7. Tools required
2 adjustable wrenches, 1 Phillips screwdriver, 1
tube of clear silicone, 1 3/8” water supply line,
1 3/4” hose connection for drain, 1 5’ drain hose,
1 hose clamp, wire ties.

1.
Ensure hole has been cut in counter prior to
installation -
-The hole should be cut in the counter/table by a
qualified person, hired by the customer, prior to
the arrival of the installer, unless that person is
one in the same

Verify hole size is correct -
-A.) Width = 244mm (9½”)
-B.) Depth = 130mm (5⅛”)
-C.) Min. Clearance = 203mm (8”)
-(edge of work top to BKON™- operator side)

Place BKON™unit over cut out -
-Unbox the craft brewer
-Place craft brewer over counter cut out

Tilt the craft brewer on to its back -
-Gently lay the craft brewer on its back

Craft brewer tower on its back -

Install gasket to base of craft brewer -
-Attach the rubber gasket (highlighted in red) to
base

Raise the tower into place -

Examine gasket for correct installation -

Insert the (4) support bolts -
-Choose the proper length bolts for installation,
either 3” or 6”
-Ensure the bolt heads are seated in the recesses,
to prevent bolts from turning during tightening

Install support panel in place -
-Tighten fasteners (wingnuts, lock washers and
washers) to secure tower in place

Connect communications cable -
-Connect communications cable in place and
secure
IMPORTANT: Ensure notches are aligned to
prevent pin damage

Risk of burning or scalding to person(s) in the vicinity of the unit
during cool down or calibration cycle if the dranin lines are not
secured properly during installation.
Hot water and steam are released under pressure during the cleaning cycle.
Ensure drain lines are securely anchored in per local, state, and national building and plumbing codes.
Installation
NOTE: Use only 6mm high temperature tube supplied with BKON unit.
NOTE: Do not connect tower drain to WVSC drain. Both should empty into the store drain.

Connect primary drain -
-Install drain hose to the drain pan adapter
-Turn hose connector clockwise to tighten

connect to WVSC hot and cold water connections
via proper lines (WVSC image shown in step 21)

Note - Drain lines are single runs to store drain
to prevent possible back up issues (Refer to the
‘Connecton Diagram’ on Page 8).

Install drain pan gasket -
-Drain pan gasket shown white for image clarity
-Ensure gasket is installed in groove in tower base

Install drain pan -
-Secure drain pan in bottom of tower with (4)
screws

Install drain pan filter-sieve -
-Drain pan filter-sieve installs into the drain opening

Install tower drain pan cover -
-Place drain pan cover over drain pan
19.
Install Water Vacuum Supply Center (WVSC) in
cabinet -
-Place WVSC in cabinet with connections facing
forward
20.
Connect communications cable -
-Connect communications cable in place and
secure

Power - Start Up
When turning on machine, it is necessary to
have the Brew Basket and Brew Handle out of
the machine until the User Interface is ready
and menus are available.
The BKON™ Craft Brewer has a power On/Off
switch mounted on the front of the Supply Center.
Rotate the black handle clockwise from the “OFF”
to the “ON” position. The craft brewer now has
power. Once power is turned on, the initialization
sequence must finish before drink preparation is
possible.
NOTICE
Entering Time and Date -
-At the home screen, press the wrench icon button
-Press the Time/Date button
-Select hour box, enter current hour, press Ok
-Time format used is the 24 hour clock
-Example: 16 :30 = 4:30 PM
-Select minute box, enter current minute, press Ok
-Select month box, enter current month, press Ok
-Select day box, enter current day, press Ok
-Select year box, enter current year, press Ok
-Press the <button will get you to the home screen
-The Time & Date has been successfully updated
