CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The Gallagher Weigh Scale W110 is a tough and reliable product designed for use
in typical livestock environments. However, proper care and maintenance can
extend its life.
Listed below are guidelines for keeping the Weigh Scale and Loadbars in good
condition:
•Store the Weigh Scale in a cool, dry area when not in use.
•After use, clean the Weigh Scale with a damp cloth. Take care not to scratch
the display.
•Don't submerge loadbars in any liquid, or spray at high-pressure.
•Carefully position the loadbar cables to prevent trapping or crushing.
•Regularly clean the area beneath the loadbars to prevent a build-up of
dirt/manure. The platform should be cleaned after use to prolong life.
•Do not transport loadbars with a weight applied to them. G-forces when
travelling may exceed rated capacity for the loadbar.
•Fit the dust caps provided on the cable connectors to keep the connections
clean and dry.
POWER AND BATTERIES
The Weigh Scale W110 is powered by 4 AA alkaline batteries. (Not included with
unit).
It is recommended the batteries are removed from the scale if not in use for long
periods of time.
Important: Use of rechargeable batteries may cause inaccuracies in the battery
gauge display.
Note: The W110 will power
down automatically after 30
minutes of inactivity to
preserve battery life.

INSTALLATION
Installing the Scale bracket
The bracket can be mounted on a flat vertical surface, a round post, or a rail.
To mount the bracket on a
flat vertical surface, or a
round wooden post, use
the 4 x tek screws included
with the unit.
To mount the bracket on
either a vertical or
horizontal bar, use the 'U'
bolts included with the
unit.
Do not mount the Weigh Scale bracket on the weighing crate or chute.

Installing the loadbars
If using loadbars, follow these steps:
1. Select a weighing site that provides a solid, level and well drained surface.
2. Ensure the loadbars and platform are well secured and clear of any
obstructions.
3. Either bolt the loadbars to the concrete pad or locate them on studs set into
the concrete. It is important that the loadbars and platform sit flat without
any rocking or twisting to avoid weighing inaccuracies.
Note: It may be necessary to shim the loadbars or platform to ensure there
are no twisting pressures within the platform. Weights should be evenly
distributed over the top of the weigh bars.
4. Connect the loadbar cables to the Weigh Scale.
WARNING – Do not weld the loadbars or any structure that they are
attached to. Loadbars contain sensitive electronic devices which will be
damaged by welding. Damage caused by welding will void warranty.
Loadbars are not suitable for installation under a weighing crate or chute.
Installing the Weigh Scale
The Weigh Scale can be placed on a table top or mounted on the Weigh Scale
bracket supplied.
Position the Weigh Scale:
•clear of the platform to ensure it does not interfere with the flow of
animals during the weighing cycle
•within easy reach of the loadbar leads
•within easy reach of the operator (for manual weighing), and
•in a well-lit area

SCALE OPERATION
Buttons Description
1 Power Turns unit on and off
2 Weigh Press to lock the displayed weight on the screen.
The (padlock) icon will show once the weight has locked.
In Livestock modes – the locked weight will be averaged to
account for animal movement.
Pressing the Weigh button again will cause a re-weigh
operation and the display will be updated.
3 Tare Press to zero the displayed weight, ready to begin weighing
4 Settings
Used when recalibrating the system. The icon will display.
Refer to Calibration (p 12) for more information.
5 KG/LBS Press to change the units which the weigh is displayed in from
kilograms (KG ) to pounds (LBS).
6 Mode Press to change weighing modes:

Buttons Description
General mode – used when weighing static
weights and produce. No averaging of weights is
performed. The weigh button must be pressed to
lock the displayed weight on the screen.
Livestock mode – used when weighing moving
animals. Displayed weights are averaged to filter
out sudden changes in weights. The weigh button
must be pressed to lock the displayed weight on
the screen.
Livestock locking mode - used when weighing
moving animals. Displayed weights are averaged
to filter out sudden changes in weights. The scale
will automatically lock the displayed weight on the
screen once the animal is stable enough to do so.
7 Up Press to increase display contrast.
8 Down Press to decrease display contrast.
9 Back Used when recalibrating the system to back up one stage.
10 OK Used when recalibrating the system to confirm a selection.
Error Messages
Should a problem be detected within the scale system, the Weigh Scale W110
will display an error code on its screen. If an error code is shown, turn off the
W110 and closely inspect the loadbar connections and cables. Switch the Weigh
Scale back on and check whether error message still displays.
Any damage to the connector or cable may require replacement by a Gallagher
service agent. If there is no obvious damage to the system, contact your local
Gallagher service centre and quote the error code that is displayed.

CALIBRATION
Note: The W110 is factory calibrated to the loadbars/loadcell which it was
supplied with. In some instances, if another set of loadbars is to be used with
the indicator it is necessary to calibrate the system to ensure accuracy. Each
loadbar is calibrated independently and therefore must be removed from any
structure before calibration begins.
To recalibrate the W110, follow the steps below:
1. Connect both load bars to the indicator and ensure that they have no weight
applied.
2. Press the Settings button to display the capacity of the connected
loadbars, then press the down arrow . The display will show ‘CAL-‘.
3. Press OK to enter the calibration wizard. The display will change to show
‘bAr1’ as loadbar 1 (left hand socket) is calibrated first.
4. Press OK to begin calibration of the first loadbar. The display will show
‘rdy?’, with ‘ZERO WEIGHT’ flashing on the display. Ensure there is no
weight on the loadbar and press OK once more.
5. As the scale determines a zero weight the display will change to ‘- - - -‘.
Once complete, the display will change to show the value of the test weight
to be used, and ‘TEST WEIGHT’ will flash on the screen. This value can be
adjusted by using the up or down button (holding the up or down
button will increment in larger steps).
Note: For best results it is recommended that a calibration weight of at least
10% of the capacity of the connected loadbar be used.
6. Once the test weight has been entered on the display press the OK button.
The display will show ‘rdy?’, with ‘TEST WEIGHT’ flashing on the display.
Load the calibration weight onto the loadbar and press OK once more to
calibrate the bar.
7. Once complete, the display will change to show ‘bAr2’ as loadbar 2 (right
hand socket) is calibrated next.
8. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the second loadbar to complete calibration.
9. Once completed, the scale will display ‘done’. Press OK to return to the
normal operating mode.
Note: The Back button can be used throughout the calibration procedure
to step back and/or repeat any stage.

EQUIPMENT
This symbol on the product or its packaging indicates that this product must
not be disposed of with other waste. Instead, it is your responsibility to
dispose of your waste equipment by handing it over to a designated
collection point for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic
equipment. The separate collection and recycling of your waste equipment
at the time of disposal will help conserve natural resources and ensure that
it is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment.

VERZORGING & ONDERHOUD
De Gallagher-weegschaal W110 is een robuust en betrouwbaar product, dat
ontworpen is voor gebruik bij veehouderijen. Een goede verzorging en goed
onderhoud kunnen de levensduur van het product verlengen.
Hieronder staan een paar tips om de weegschaal en de weegbalken in goede
staat te houden:
•Bewaar de weegschaal, als deze niet gebruikt wordt, in een koele en droge
omgeving.
•Maak de weegschaal na gebruik schoon met een vochtige doek. Let erop dat
er geen krassen op het display komen.
•Dompel de weegbalken niet onder in een vloeistof en spuit de balken ook
niet onder druk schoon.
•Plaats de kabels van de weegbalken zorgvuldig om verstrikking of
vertrapping te voorkomen.
•Maak het gebied onder de weegbalken regelmatig schoon om ophoping van
vuil/mest te voorkomen. Maak het platform na gebruik schoon om de
levensduur van het systeem te verlengen.
•Vervoer de weegbalken nooit met een toegepaste belasting. De g-krachten
tijdens transport kunnen hoger zijn dan de nominale capaciteit voor de
weegbalk.
•Plaats de meegeleverde beschermkapjes over de kabelverbindingen om de
verbindingen schoon en droog te houden.
VERMOGEN & BATTERIJEN
De weegschaal W110 functioneert op 4 AA alkaline batterijen. (Niet
meegeleverd.).
Als de weegschaal langere tijd niet wordt gebuikt, wordt aanbevolen de
batterijen uit het systeem te halen.
Belangrijk: Het gebruik van
oplaadbare batterijen kan
onnauwkeurigheid
veroorzaken in de weergave
voor het meten van de
batterijstatus.
Opmerking: Om de batterijen
te sparen, schakelt de W110
automatisch uit als deze
gedurende 30 minuten niet
gebuikt wordt.

INSTALLATIE
Installeren de beugel van de weegschaal
De beugel kan op een plat verticaal oppervlak, een ronde paal of een rail worden
gemonteerd.
Gebruik de meegeleverde 4
x teksschroeven om de
beugel op een plat
oppervlak of een ronde
houten paal te monteren.
Gebruik de meegeleverde
'U'-bouten om de beugel
op een verticale of
horizontale balk te
monteren.
Monteer de beugel van de weegschaal niet op het weegkrat of de weegkooi.

Installeren van de weegbalken
Volg de volgende stappen om de weegbalken te monteren:
1. Zoek een weeglocatie uit met stevige en gelijkmatige ondergrond en een
goede afvoer.
2. Zorg ervoor dat de weegbalken en het platform stevig verankerd en vrij van
obstakels zijn.
3. Zet de weegbalken met bouten op het betonblok vast of plaats ze op de
pennen in het beton. Om onnauwkeurigheid in de metingen te voorkomen,
is het belangrijk dat de weegbalken en het platform volstrekt horizontaal
zijn vastgezet en niet kunnen schudden of draaien.
Opmerking: Het kan nodig zijn de weegbalken of het platform op te vullen
om er zeker van te zijn dat er geen wringspanning kan ontstaan. Het
gewicht dient gelijkmatig te worden verspreid over de bovenkant van de
weegbalken.
4. Sluit de kabels van de weegbalken aan op de weegschaal.
WAARSCHUWING - de weegbalken of een constructie waarop deze zijn
bevestigd nooit lassen. De weegbalken zijn voorzien van gevoelige elektronische
apparaatjes die bij lassen kunnen beschadigen. Bij beschadiging als gevolg van lassen
komt de garantie te vervallen.
Weegbalken zijn niet geschikt voor installatie onder een weegkrat of een weegkooi.
Installeren van de weegschaal
De weegschaal kan op een tafel worden geplaatst of op de meegeleverde beugel
worden gemonteerd.
Plaats de weegschaal:
•op afstand van het platform om er zeker van te zijn dat de stroom dieren
tijdens de weegcyclus niet wordt verstoord
•ruim binnen bereik van de kabels van de weegbalken
•ruim binnen bereik van de operator (bij handmatig wegen) en
•in een goed verlichte ruimte

SCALE OPERATION
Knoppen Omschrijving
1 Aan/Uit Schakelt de eenheid aan en uit
2 Wegen Indrukken om het op het scherm weergegeven gewicht te
vergrendelen.
Het (slot)-pictogram wordt weergegeven zodra het
gewicht is vergrendeld.
In Vee-standen - het vergrendelde gewicht wordt
gemiddeld om rekening te houden met bewegingen van
dieren.
Door nogmaals op de knop Wegen te drukken, wordt het
wegen herhaald en wordt het display geüpdatet.
3 Tarra Indrukken om het weergegeven gewicht op nul te zetten,
gereed om het wegen te starten.
4 Instellingen Om het systeem opnieuw te kalibreren. Het pictogram
wordt weergegeven.

5 KG/LBS Indrukken om de weergegeven weegeenheid te wijzigen
van kilogram (KG) in pound (LBS).
