CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The Gallagher Weigh Scale W110 is a tough and reliable product designed for use
in typical livestock environments. However, proper care and maintenance can
extend its life.
Listed below are guidelines for keeping the Weigh Scale and Loadbars in good
condition:
•Store the Weigh Scale in a cool, dry area when not in use.
•After use, clean the Weigh Scale with a damp cloth. Take care not to scratch
the display.
•Don't submerge loadbars in any liquid, or spray at high-pressure.
•Carefully position the loadbar cables to prevent trapping or crushing.
•Regularly clean the area beneath the loadbars to prevent a build-up of
dirt/manure. The platform should be cleaned after use to prolong life.
•Do not transport loadbars with a weight applied to them. G-forces when
travelling may exceed rated capacity for the loadbar.
•Fit the dust caps provided on the cable connectors to keep the connections
clean and dry.
POWER AND BATTERIES
The Weigh Scale W110 is powered by 4 AA alkaline batteries. (Not included with
unit).
It is recommended the batteries are removed from the scale if not in use for long
periods of time.
Important: Use of rechargeable batteries may cause inaccuracies in the battery
gauge display.
Note: The W110 will power
down automatically after 30
minutes of inactivity to
preserve battery life.

INSTALLATION
Installing the Scale bracket
The bracket can be mounted on a flat vertical surface, a round post, or a rail.
To mount the bracket on a
flat vertical surface, or a
round wooden post, use
the 4 x tek screws included
with the unit.
To mount the bracket on
either a vertical or
horizontal bar, use the 'U'
bolts included with the
unit.
Do not mount the Weigh Scale bracket on the weighing crate or chute.

Installing the loadbars
If using loadbars, follow these steps:
1. Select a weighing site that provides a solid, level and well drained surface.
2. Ensure the loadbars and platform are well secured and clear of any
obstructions.
3. Either bolt the loadbars to the concrete pad or locate them on studs set into
the concrete. It is important that the loadbars and platform sit flat without
any rocking or twisting to avoid weighing inaccuracies.
Note: It may be necessary to shim the loadbars or platform to ensure there
are no twisting pressures within the platform. Weights should be evenly
distributed over the top of the weigh bars.
4. Connect the loadbar cables to the Weigh Scale.
WARNING – Do not weld the loadbars or any structure that they are
attached to. Loadbars contain sensitive electronic devices which will be
damaged by welding. Damage caused by welding will void warranty.
Loadbars are not suitable for installation under a weighing crate or chute.
Installing the Weigh Scale
The Weigh Scale can be placed on a table top or mounted on the Weigh Scale
bracket supplied.
Position the Weigh Scale:
•clear of the platform to ensure it does not interfere with the flow of
animals during the weighing cycle
•within easy reach of the loadbar leads
•within easy reach of the operator (for manual weighing), and
•in a well-lit area

SCALE OPERATION
Buttons Description
1 Power Turns unit on and off
2 Weigh Press to lock the displayed weight on the screen.
The (padlock) icon will show once the weight has locked.
In Livestock modes – the locked weight will be averaged to
account for animal movement.
Pressing the Weigh button again will cause a re-weigh
operation and the display will be updated.
3 Tare Press to zero the displayed weight, ready to begin weighing
4 Settings
Used when recalibrating the system. The icon will display.
Refer to Calibration (p 12) for more information.
5 KG/LBS Press to change the units which the weigh is displayed in from
kilograms (KG ) to pounds (LBS).
6 Mode Press to change weighing modes:
