1. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety
precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ THE COMPLETE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE
YOU OPERATE THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME. All information
included in those pages serve for the protection of the operator. If you ignore the
safety instructions, you will endanger your health and life.
This instruction manual is an integral part of the product and must
be carefully kept in a safe place in order to consult it throughout
the equipment service life. Copies of this instruction manual are
available upon request.
The Gharieni Group GmbH shall not be held responsible for any
damages, direct or indirect, caused to people, animals or objects
resulting from negligence or non-compliance with the instructions
contained herein.

DANGER!
To reduce the risk of electrocution:
1. All electrical work to connect the PLS to the mains must be carried out by a
qualified professional. Do not modify the energy supply. The connection must
be carried out in accordance with the current local and legal regulations.
2. Do not connect the PLS to the mains if the PLS itself or the power cable or
the plug are visibly damaged.
3. Never try to repair the PLS yourself. If the PLS does not operate properly,
please contact the manufacturer or the shop you purchased the appliance at.
Original spare parts should be used only.
4. When the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or
an authorized aftersales service or a qualified professional only.

5. Always unplug this appliance immediately after using.
6. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning and maintenance.
WARNING!
To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:
1. The electric components must not come in contact with water. Check all cables
regularly and call the aftersales service when any cable is in improper condition.

2. Always unplug the PLS before cleaning or maintenance.
3. Do not open the housing of the FCP/MCP! Failure to do so will expire the
guarantee.
4. Liquids must not get into the FCP/MCP.
5. The PLS must not be left unsupervised during operation.
6. Close supervision is necessary when the PLS is operated by or near children or
invalids.
7. Use the PLS only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use
attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
8. Never operate the PLS if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or
damaged. Call an authorized service centre for examination and repair.
9. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
10. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
11. Do not operate outdoors. Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are
being used.
12. Do not allow any unauthorized people to operate the PLS!
13. Never immerse the PLS or any parts of it in water. When cleaning it, make sure
that no water can penetrate the housing.
14. Regularly check that the power leads are intact and contact our Customer
Service Department if any damage is found.
15. Always ensure that no parts of the body can be crushed while operating the
MCP. RISK OF CRUSHING!
16. Always keep children away from the PLS. Children must not play with the PLS
or its single components.
17. This device is not intended to be operated by persons with reduced physical,
sensory and mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge, unless they
are supervised or instructed concerning the use of the device and do understand
the danger resulting thereof.

2. Do not sit on the armrests.
3. Do not lean against the footrest.

2. PREFACES
Dear Customer,
Congratulations on buying this high-quality product. Reading these instructions is
definitely not a waste of time, but is crucial to enable proper and responsible
operation of the PLS. STRICTLY OBSERVE THE INSTRUCTIONS TO
AVOID DAMAGE TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY. MAKE SURE THAT
THIS MANUAL IS AVAILABLE TO ANYONE USING THE PLS AND
MAKE SURE THAT IT HAS BEEN READ AND UNDERSTOOD PRIOR TO
USING THE PLS.
3. INTENDED USE
Read the instructions very carefully and only operate the device in its intended use
as described to protect you and your customers from danger. The PLS is intended
for indoor use only.
This product is a commercial product and should only be used for cosmetic
treatments and by properly trained cosmeticians. No other use is permitted:
it will affect your guarantee rights.

4. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 Unpacking
Open the top of the carton carefully. Do not use any sharp-edged objects;
otherwise you can damage the upholstery. Do not lift the PLS but remove the top
cover of the carton. Then you can pull up and remove the outer package.
4.2 Specifications
The PDS product line includes the models PLS Basic, Comfort and XP. Each
model is equipped with partitioned leg rests. They have the same basic dimensions
and functions and a load-bearing capacity of 160 kg. The PLS is multifunctional
and ready to use in just a few easy steps. The height and inclination can be adjusted
using the electric motors via the comfortable foot control. The non-electrically
controlled adjustment options of the PLS are carried out via a pneumatic spring
and the relevant hand lever.
4.3 Before initial operation
Check that all parts have arrived and are not visible damaged. Before installation,
check that there is sufficient free space.

If the floor is not quite level, use the adjusting screw for perfect stability.
4.4 Type plate
When standing at the head of the PLS, the type plate is on the right side panel and
on the inside of the drawer. Do not make the type plate illegible! Do not remove
the type plate! Failure to do so will expire the guarantee.

5. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short-circuit,
grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing a path of low resistance
for the electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding
wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is
properly installed and grounded in compliance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER! Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a RISK OF
ELECTRIC SHOCK. Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if you
are in doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded. Do not modify the
plug provided with the appliance, if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet
installed by a qualified electrician. If repair or replacement of the cord or plug is
necessary, do not connect the grounding wire to either flat blade terminal. The wire
with insulation having an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes
is the grounding wire.
Extension cord: If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a three-wire
extension cord that has a three-blade grounding plug and a three-slot receptacle
that will accept the plug on the appliance. Replace or repair a damaged cord.
6. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 General
The PLS is ready to use in just a few easy steps and can be can be individually
adjusted to body size. Depending on the intended use, you can adjust the desired
treatment positions via the motors or the pneumatic springs within a short period
of time; so you can concentrate entirely on the customer.
6.2 Back rest/seat
The inclinations of the back rest and the seat are adjusted separately. When using a
PLS with electrically-powered adjustment function, you can adjust the inclinations
via the FCP. The inclination of the back rest can be individually adjusted via the
pneumatic spring (all models).

6.3 Leg rests
You can adjust the leg rests separately (independent of the back rest). When they
are at the same height as the seat, they have reached their highest position. Given
the horizontal position you can lower the leg rests up to 900. The adjustment is
carried out pneumatically via hand lever (all models).
Additionally, the leg rests are pivotable to the outside by 900. The entire position of
the leg rests can be adjusted variably up to 16 cm. Slightly loose the big setscrew of
the relevant leg rest, adjust the desired length and tighten the screw.
6.4 Seat
The inclination of the seat can be individually
adjusted from 00to 250(with
boarding/alighting support option from -40
to 250). The inclination is adjusted electrically
via the FCP. Simply press the relevant key on
the FCP.
Seat depth adjustment is optionally available.
The seat can be moved forwards and
backwards by lifting it slightly.
6.5 Arm rests
The arm rests are parallel with the seat and
can be swivelled backwards.

6.6 Height
The horizontal working height can be adjusted from 49.5 cm to 84 cm (46 cm with
Memory - boarding/alighting support option). You can increase the working height
with the adjustable feet by max. 3 cm. The height adjustment is electrically-
powered( all models). Simply press the relevant key on the FCP.

6.8 Foot Control Panel (optional equipment)
The optional FCP can be connected instead of the standard FCP. It is equipped
with a right (R) and a left (L) foot switch unit and a central electronic unit. You find
the diodes A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 and A6 on the central electronic unit.

Use R2 to activate motor function height (A4)/inclination (A6).
Use R1 to change direction.
Use R1 to save a setting (when diode A1 is on only).
Use L1 and L2 to operate the relevant motor.
Please note the designations up/down (Auf/Ab) for the direction of movement.
You can load 2 memory positions (M1 and M2) using the left foot switch unit.
Press R2 until diode A1 lights.
L1 = M1; L2 = M2.
6.8.1 Saving of a position
Adjust the desired position. Press R2 until A1 lights. Then press R1. Finally choose
the relevant save key L1 or L2 and press until you hear an acoustic signal.

6.8.2 Loading of a position
Press and hold R2 until diode A1 lights. Then press L1 or L2 until the saved
position has been reached.
6.8.3 Initializing of the software
If the saved memory positions are not loaded properly, you may have to re-
initialize the software.
Retract and extend all drives, height and inclination completely until they have
reached their final position. Attention! The initializing must be carried out
manually; each drive must be run to its final position separately. Do not use any
memory key (e.g. M1).
When the described positions have been reached, the initializing is complete.
6.9 Heater (optional equipment)
WARNING!
Do not use the option Smart-Thermo when your customer has got a
pacemaker, is pregnant, is affected by thrombosis, suffers from pain due to
unknown reasons. Apply to healthy people only.
Never exceed the default values (preheating period: approx 6 minutes; power
level during treatment: approx. 30%, 3 LEDs) when programming the heater
yourself.
When the treatment is stopped prematurely, cancel the Smart-Thermo function
by pressing the OFF-button on the control panel to avoid heat accumulation.
Disconnect the PLS from the mains when it is not used for a longer period of
time, e.g. during the night.
Do not cover the PLS with items such as blankets, towels clothes etc. when the
heater is switched on. Failure to do so can cause heat accumulation which will
damage the PLS permanently. RISK OF FIRE!
The lying surface of the PLS can be heated to maximize the treatment comfort.
You can set 10 heating levels using the control panel. For quick heating of a cold
lying surface after starting the heater will operate with max. power during the pre-
heating period. The parameters of the heater can be programmed and saved if
desired. Check the current temperature before using the PLS. Disconnect the PLS
from the mains when it is not used for a longer period of time.

6.9.1 Heater control panel
You can operate the heater using the 4 buttons ON/OFF/+/-. The setting of
the heating power is indicated by a 10-level LED bar-diagram.
The green LEDs 1-4 indicate low power/low temperatures.
The yellow LEDs 5-7 indicate medium power/medium temperatures.
The red LEDs 8-10 indicate high power/high temperatures.
6.9.2 Heating
Switch on the heater using the ON-button on the control panel.
The programmed setting starts. This setting starts the pre-heating period first
(approx. 6 minutes; max- power/manufacturer´s setting).
When the pre-heating time has elapsed, the normal treatment setting starts
(duration: 60 minutes; power: 30%/ manufacturer´s setting).
You can stop the pre-heating period using the + and - buttons and set the
temperature to one of the 10 levels.
Switch off the heater using the OFF-button.
6.9.3 Default setting

6.9.4 Programming
The values of the total operation period, the pre-heating period and the heating
power are programmable. Use the following combination to enter the
programming mode:

1. Press and hold the OFF-button.
2. Press and release the ON-button.
3. Release the OFF-button and enter the
Setting of the total operation period.
You can set 10 levels from 10 to 100 minutes. The position of the single and
illuminated LED - from the left to the right - indicates the level. The default setting
is 60 minutes.
Example for level 6 = 60 minutes total operation period:
Press the ON-button to save your setting, then you enter the
Setting of the pre-heating period
Each illuminated LED indicates a pre-heating period of 3 minutes.
Each LED represents a pre-heating period of 3 minutes. The default setting is 6
minutes.
While the heater is still warm, the pre-heating period may be shorter if the
heater is switched on again.
Press the ON-button to save your setting, then you enter the
Setting of the power during treatment
The currently-saved value is indicated by the LED bar. The number of illuminated
LEDs indicates the set heating power in 10% steps. Manufacturer`s setting is 30%.
Set the desired value by pressing the +and -buttons. Save your setting by pressing
the ON-button.
The programming of the heater is complete.

You can finish the programming of the heater by pressing the OFF-
button at any point of time.

6.10 Rotation function
You can rotate the seat of the PLS by 1050to the right or left. During treatment,
always lock the desired adjustment using the lever which is located under the seat.
Loose the lever to change the treatment position of the seat, then lock again.
This function can be used only when the leg rests are not folded down by 900. If
the leg rests should touch the base of the PLS while rotating the seat, please raise
them a bit.
6.11 Manual Control Panel (optional equipment)
1. Press one of the buttons ▲▼ to operate the relevant motor.
2. Never press two ore more buttons simultaneously.
6.12 Audio Relax (optional equipment)
This option provides total relaxation for your customer and adds a personal touch
to your treatments. Two speakers laterally-installed in the headrest support the
massage by an unique experience of sound without harassing your customer. The
MP3-player is equipped with 50 minutes of relaxing-music. Moreover you can load
other music on the MP3-player if desired. The volume is not intended for filling
rooms with sound.
7. CLEANING/MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Always unplug the PLS before cleaning or maintenance.
Clean the housing and upholstery using a damp cloth or sponge and a little soap
only!
The standard upholstery is made of synthetic leather. Do not clean this material
using any aggressive detergent.
If the material of your PLS is customized, please contact our service department
for further information.

10. GUARANTEE PROVISIONS
The Gharieni Group GmbH supplies all new equipment subject to a 3-years
guarantee. Wearing parts (such as e.g. incandescent lamps, UV lamps, glass panels,
consumables etc.) are not covered by this guarantee. Damage or loss due to
unprofessional or improper use, non-compliance with the provisions of the
instructions for use and/or gross negligence is not covered by guarantee either. In
addition, the guarantee is invalidated if any stickers (such as e.g. the type plate,
instruction notices etc.) are removed or if appliances or parts of appliances are
opened without this being explicitly allowed in the operating instructions (e.g. for
cleaning).
10.1 Exclusions from guarantee
Upon delivery, it is necessary to check that the equipment has not been damaged
during transportation and that the set of accessories is complete and in good
condition. Claims must be filed within 8 days after the delivery of Gharieni
PediSpa. Apart from the cases specified in the supply agreement, the guarantee is
void when:
 The malfunctioning is attributable to the operator.
 The instructions in this instruction manual are not followed.
 The Gharieni Basic PediSpa has suffered changes after repair operations
performed by a third party unauthorized by Gharieni Group GmbH.
11. WASTE MANAGEMENT
Do not dispose of the PLS together with your domestic waste. Old
and unused appliances must be send for disposal to the responsible
recycling centre for electric appliances. Do not remove the relevant
symbol from the product.
The PLS is made of metal and plastic components, electronic
components, electric cables. Dispose of the separate components in
accordance with the current local disposal regulations. For further
information, please contact your municipal disposal authorities, your
retailer or
