USE AND MAINTENANCE BOOK
FEATURES
The irrigation device generates a pulsating water jet with adjustable pressure.
It is equipped with a nozzle with a little guard sheet C,suitable for otologists. The device may only be
used in medical practices and only as irrigation device for the auditory canal.
The product or its components cannot be used for usages different to the ones specified in the present
manual.
WARNINGS
Plug in device only into a properly installed socket. The device has an alternating voltage
of 220 volts.
Fix device on the wall or put it on a surface in a way that it cannot fall into water. Do not
dip it into water! Before cleaning always pull out plug from the socket.
Use device only with a full water container A.
Empty water container Atotally after use.
Operating time up to a maximum of 12 minutes.
Use exclusively water for rinsing. For cleaning and disinfection of the appliance decalcifying and
disinfecting agents can be used provided they are properly measured.
Flex has to be examined regularly for damages.
Do not use device if damages are detected. Go to an expert electrician.
Avoid precarious repairs. Repairs shall be carried out with original spare parts only, which
shall be installed according to the intended use.
UNPACKING
Always remember that packing elements (paper, cellophane, stitches, adhesive tape, etc.)
can cut and/or hurt if they are not carefully handled.
They shall be removed with adequate means and shall not be left at the mercy of irresponsible
persons; the same is valid for tools used to remove packages (scissors, knives, etc.).
After opening the packages, first of all it is necessary to check all pieces and parts composing the
product. Check that they are all present and in perfect conditions.
INSTALLATION
Apart form the use as a table device it can be fixed detachably to the wall using the given fixing system
F. Because of automatic emptying of the system the installation height has to be chosen in a way that,
while in use, the handle Dis clearly over the level of the device!

Dieses Produkt entspricht den anspruchvollstenAuswahlkriterien im Hinblick auf qualitativ hochwertige
Produktionsmaterialien und Endkontrollen. Die Garantiedauer beträgt ab dem Lieferdatum GIMA 12
Monate.
Während der Garantielaufdauer werden alle eindeutig auf Herstellungsfehler rückführbaren defekten
Teile kostenlos repariert und/oder ausgewechselt. Arbeitskosten, Tagesgeld, Transport-,
Verpackungskosten, etc. sind ausgeschlossen. Von der Garantie ausgeschlossen sind somit alle nicht
verschleißfesten Elemente wie die Teile aus Kautschuk oder PVC, Dopplersonde, SpO2Sensoren,
Lämpchen, Batterien, Elektroden, Handgriffe, Dichtungen, Widerstände und andere weitere Teile.
Für den Stillstand des Geräts kann keine Entschädigung verlangt werden.
Ferner verlängert die Auswechslung oder Reparatur, bei Inanspruchnahme der Garantie, nicht die
Garantiezeit.
Die Garantie verfällt bei: Reparaturen seitens unberechtigten Personals oder mit nicht
von GIMA zugelassenen Ersatzteilen, Störungen oder Defekten, die auf Nachlässigkeiten
rückführbar sind, Schläge, Zweckentfremdungen des Geräts oder Einbaufehler.
Bei derAbnahme, Löschung oder Änderung der Kennnummer erlischt die Garantie.
Die als defekt geltenden Geräte sind nur dem Händler zu übergeben, bei dem der Kauf erfolgte.An uns

CARACTERÍSTICAS
El aparato de lavado produce un chorro de agua de pulsaciones, con una presión que puede ser regulada.
Monta un surtidor con una pantalla de protección C, especialmente útil para los odontólogos. El aparato
puede ser utilizado exclusivamente por los médicos y sólo como instrumento para enjuagar el conducto
auditivo.
El aparato o sus partes no puede ser utilizado para un uso distinto del que se especifica expresamente
en este manual.
ADVERTENCIAS
Enchufar el aparato exclusivamente en una toma instalada correctamente. El voltaje del
aparato es de 220 Voltios, en corriente alternada.
Montar el aparato en una pared o bien colocarlo sobre una superficie de forma tal que el
agua pueda caer. ¡No sumergirlo en agua! Desenchufar siempre aparato antes de limpiarlo.
Utilizar el aparato solamente cuando el depósito Aestá lleno de agua.
Vaciar completamente el depósito Adespués de haber usado el aparato.
El tiempo máximo de funcionamiento es de 12 minutos.

1. Filling water
Remove the water basin Apulling it upwards and fill it by WARM WATER, only after having checked
the temperature (see running instructions).
Insert the filled basin A, placing it well on its base carefully.
2. Putting on the nozzle
Put square jet on the handle Dand press it until it engages. Put on guard sheet C.
3. Quick filling of the tube system
Lowering the handle Dunder device level for a short time - before switching it on Ethe first time -
helps the quick filling of the tube system. Put handle Dalways back into the handle mounting of the
device to avoid automatic emptying of the water container and the tube system.
WATCH OUT! Do not fix over washbasin etc.!
FUNCTIONING
1. Anamnesis and otoscopy
Otoscopy and questioning of the patient are necessary before the irrigation process.
In case of a tympanic-membrane perforation and/or an inflammatory process in the auditory canal an
irrigation is not advised.
In case of bad anamnesis the patient should be asked whether he/she has ever suffered from otorrhea,
whether water in the auditory canal has caused pains or whether former irrigations of the auditory
canal have already caused problems.
2. Temperature of water
IMPORTANT! To avoid irritations the irrigation of the auditory canal has to be carried
out with warm water! water temperature has to be checked immediately before the irrigation
process!
To facilitate temperature checking, the device is supplied with the provided Temp.Test-Card.
Before filling, place the card under the water spurt. When temperature is correct (38° C) the card indicator
is green. Should it remain green for 2-3 seconds, the container can be filled. The lower levels are signalled
by blue colour while the higher levels are in brown colour.
After having filled the container, the card is to be hung on the back wall of the Abasin, in order that the
indicator is under the water level. That way water temperature can be monitored anytime, which is
particularly useful if washing is not immediately carried out.
3. Positioning of the irrigation jet
IMPORTANT! The irrigation jet has always to be directed towards the meatus walls! Do
never direct the irrigation jet towards the tympanic membrane!
Do never position the irrigation nozzle far into the auditory canal. Put it at the beginning
of the auditory canal towards the meatus walls.
The nozzle position must always grant the outlet of rinsing water!
4. Adjusting the pressure
A general adjustment of the pressure Bvalid for every irrigation cannot be given as it depends, among
other things, on the prevailing situation in the auditory canal, the sensitivity of the patient and not least
the irrigation technique of the doctor.
IMPORTANT! Therefore it is absolutely necessary to get an impression of the range of the
pressure by means of the finger pulp test.
Put the irrigation jet towards the finger pulp of the middle finger with different pressure
levels.
In view of the higher sensitivity of the auditory canal with this test you get a good idea of how to adjust
the pressure B.

3. Positionierung des Spülstrahles
WICHTIG! Der Spülstrahl muß immer auf die Gehörgangswand gerichtet werden!
Der Spülstrahl darf niemals in Richtung des Trommelfelles gerichtet werden.
Die Spulstrahldüse keinesfalls tief im Gehörgang positionieren, sondern etwa am Anfang
des Gehörganges an die Gehörgangswand richten.
Die Position der Düse muss immer den Ausgang des Spülwassers garantieren!
4. Druckeinstellung
Eine generelle und für alle Spülungen gültige Druckeinstellung Bkann nicht vorgegeben werden, da
diese u.a. von den jeweiligen Gegebenheiten ins Gehörgang, der Empfindsamkeit des Patienten und
nicht zuletzt von der Spültechnik des Arztes abhängig ist.
WICHTIG! Es ist deshalb unbedingt notwendig, sich vor einer Spülung einen Eindruck
über die zur Verfügung stehende Bandbreite des Spülstrahldruckes mittels Fingerbeerentest
zu verschaffen.
Hierbei richtet man den Spülstrahl bei den verschiedenen Druckstufen Bauf die Fingerbeere des
Mittelfingers.
Der Test wird immer vor jeder Reinigung durchgeführt, da im Fall einer schlechten Wartung, die
Kalkablagerungen im Rohrsystem den Strahldruck erhöhen können.
Um eine Ohrspülung bei einer erwachsen Person durchzuführen, raten wir Niveau 2 für die Testspülung,
während Niveau 3-4 für die Hauptspülung.
Die Druckniveaus 5-6 sind ausschließlich zur Wartung vorgesehen!
5. Test-Spülung
Mit einen fast drucklosen Spülstrahl wird eine kurze Testspülung durchgeführt. Damit wird die
Empfindsamkeit des Patienten getestet und dieser gleichzeitig an die Spülung gewöhnt.
Entsprechende Reaktionen des Patienten können hierbei z.B. auch auf Trommelfellperforationen
hinweisen, die mittels Otoskopie nicht zu sehen waren!
6. Spülung
Die Pulsation des Spülstrahles bewirkt die Cerumenablösung auch bei einem relativ niedrigem
Spühlstrahldruck.
Normalerweise wird die Spülung mit einem Druckniveau 3-4 für maximal 15 Sekunden durchgeführt.
Den Druck während der Spülung nicht erhöhen!
Wenn der Patient sich nicht wohl fühl, sofort die Spülung unterbrechen!
Weiche bis mittelharte Cerumen können meist ohne lokale Behandlung mit aufweichenden Ohrentropfen
abgelöst werden. Bei komplettem Cerumenverschluß sollte vorher mit einen Haken eine kleine Öffnung
in die Cerumenplatte geritzt werden.
Eine Beobachtung des Auffangwassers kann Hinweise auf den Spülerfolg geben.
Nach der Cerumenentfernung sollte der Gehörgang getrocknet und desinfiziert werden.
INSTANDHALTUNG
Gehäuse, Handgriff Dund Düsenteil nur mit feuchtem Lappen wischen und nachtrocknen. Netzstecker
ziehen!
Der BehälterA und das Rohrsystem sollten regulär desinfiziert werden. Den BehälterA (Füllmenge ca.
600 ml) mit Wasser füllen und ein Desinfizierungsmittel für Instrumente hinzufügen und für einige Zeit
wirken lassen. Das Rohrsystem mit Düse spülen. Pumpen Sie das Wasser mit dem Desinfektionsmittel
ab und spülen Sie mit klarem Wasser einige Male mit einem Druckniveau 5-6 nach.

The test is to be carried out always before each washing, because in case of bad maintenance, the
limestone deposits in the tube system can increase the stream pressure.
For a ear canal cleaning on an adult subject a 2 level for the test washing is suggested while for the chief
washing a 3-4 level is recommended.
Pressure levels 5-6 are foreseen only for maintenance process!
5. Irrigation test
A short irrigation test is carried out with an almost pressureless irrigation jet. So the sensitivity of the
patient can be tested and at the same time he/she gets used to the irrigation.
Reactions of the patient can indicate e. g. a tympanic membrane perforation which could not be seen
by means of the otoscopy!
6. Irrigation
The pulsation of the irrigation jet has the effect of a cerumen detachment even with a relatively low
pressure of the irrigation jet.
Usually the washing process is carried out with a 3-4 level pressure, lasting for no more than 15 seconds.
Do not raise the pressure while washing!
If the patient does not feel well stop washing immediately!
Soft to medium-hard cerumen can mostly be removed without local treatment but simply putting emollient
drops into ears. In case of a complete cerumen obstruction a small hole should be scratched into the
cerumen with a little hook.
Observation of the collected irrigation water can indicate the success of the irrigation.
After a cerumen detachment the auditory canal should be dried and disinfected.
MAINTENANCE
Wipe container A, handle Dand nozzle only with a damp cloth and dry them afterwards. Pull out plug!
The A basin and the tube system should be disinfected regularly. Fill the Abasin in (volume about 600
ml.) with water, add a disinfectant for appliances and let act as long as necessary. Wash the tube system
with the nozzle. Pump the water with the disinfectant away and rinse with clear water with 5-6 level
pressure out, repeatedly.
The nozzles can be disinfected by a cold disinfectant used for appliances.
Decalcification can be carried out like disinfection using the proper additive, otherwise pure wine vinegar
can be used.
GUARANTEE
Thank you for having acquired our product.
This product meets the most stringent requirements regarding the selection of quality manufacturing
materials and also the final control. The product has a 12-month warranty, valid from the date it is
delivered by GIMA.
During the guarantee period free repair and/or replacement of any defective parts due to faulty
manufacture will be given, labour, postal, transport and packaging charges etc. are not included. The
guarantee therefore excludes components subject to wear and tear such as parts in rubber or PVC,
doppler probes, SpO2sensors, lamps, batteries, electrodes, handpieces, washers and packings,
resistances, etc.
No compensation will be given for loss of use of the product.
Furthermore replacement or repairs effected during the guarantee period do not lengthen the duration
of the guarantee.

AUSPACKEN
Wir weisen darauf hin, dass die Verpackungselemente (Papier, Zellophan, Metallstifte,
Klebeband, etc.) schneiden u/o verletzen können und aus diesem Grund mit Vorsicht
behandelt werden müssen. Diese Elemente müssen mit den entsprechenden Werkzeugen
entfernt werden und dürfen nicht unverantwortlichen Personen überlassen werden; das
gleiche gilt für die Werkzeuge zur Entfernung der Verpackung (Scheren, Messer, etc.).
Der erste Arbeitsschritt nach der Öffnung der Verpackung ist eine allgemeine Kontrolle der Teile, aus
denen sich die Ertrag zusammensetzt; überprüfen, dass alle notwendigen Komponenten vorhanden
sind und sie sich in einem einwandfreiem Zustand befinden.
INSTALLATION
Neben der Verwendung als Tischgerät kann das Gerät mittels beiliegendem Wandhalter Fabnehmbar
an der Wand befestigt werden. Wegen Selbstentleerung des Systems ist die Installationshöhe so zu
wählen, daß während des Betriebes der Handgriff Ddeutlich über dem Geräteniveau liegt!
1. Wasser einfüllen
Den Wasserbehälter A füllen, indem sie ihn nach oben ziehen und mit LAUWARMEN WASSER füllen,
nachdem Sie die Temperatur geprüft haben (siehe FUNKTION).
Den gefüllten WasserbehälterA einführen, und darauf achten, dass er gut auf der Basis befestigt ist.
2. Düsenteil aufsetzen
Winkeldüse auf den Handgriff Daufsetzen und bis zum Einrasten andrücken. Spritzschutzteller C
aufschieben.
3. Schnellfüllung des Schlauchsystems
Kurzes Absenken des Handgriffes Dunter das Geräteniveau - vor dem Ersteinschalten - dient der
Schnellfüllung Edes Schlauchsystems. Handgriff Dimmer in die Handgriffhalterung des Gerätes
zurückstecken zur Vermeidung des selbsttätigen Auslaufens von Wasserbehälter und Schlauchsystem.
Achtung! Nicht über Waschbecken etc. befestigen!
ARBEIT
1. Anamnese und Otoskopie
Vor einem Spülvorgang ist eine otoskopische Untersuchung des Gehörganges und eine
Patientenbefragung unbedingt notwendig.
Bei einer Trommelfellperforation und/oder entzündlichen Prozessen ins Gehörgang ist eine Spülung
kontraindiziert.
Bei unklarer Anamnese sollte der Patient gefragt werden, ob er jemals unter Ohrenlaufen gelitten hat,
ob eindringendes Wasser in den Gehörgang Schmerzen verursacht oder ob schon frühere
Gehörgangspülungen problematisch gewesen sind.
2. Wassertemperatur
WICHTIG! Zur Vereinigung von Irritationen darf eine Gehörgangspülung nur mit warmem
Wasser durchgeführt werde. Die Wassertemperatur ist unmittelbar vor dem Spülvorgang
zu prüfen.
Um die Temperaturkontrolle zu vereinfachen wird das Gerät mit einer Test-Card Temperatur geliefert. Vor
demAuffüllen die Karte unter den Wasserstrahl setzen. Wenn die Temperatur korrekt ist (38 °C) zeigt der
Kartenanzeiger die Farbe GRÜN an. Wenn diese Farbe für 2-3 Sekunden bleibt, den Behälter füllen. Die
niedrigen Werte werden mit BLAUER Farbe angezeigt, während hohe Werte werden mit der Farbe
BRAUN angezeigt.
Nachdem man den Behälter aufgefüllt hat heften Sie bitte das Blatt an die hintere BehälterwandA, damit
derAnzeiger unter demWasserniveau steht. Somit können Sie ständig die Wassertemperatur kontrollieren;

INSTRUCTIONS DE FONCTIONNEMENT ET ENTRETIEN
CARACTERISTIQUES
L’ appareil pour le lavage de l’oreille crée un jet d’eau à pulsations dont la pression est réglable.
Il est équipé d’une buse enfichable avec une assiette pour la protection contre les giclées C, les deux
conviennent à l’utilisation en otologie. L’appareil doit exclusivement être utilisé dans les cabinets de
médecins et uniquement en tant qu’appareil pour le lavage de l’oreille. Le produit, ou ses parties, ne
peut être utilisée pour un usage différent de celui spécifié dans l’usage prévu par le présent manuel.
AVERTISSEMENTS
L’appareil doit exclusivement être branché sur des prises installées de façon conforme.
L’appareil nécessite une tension alternative de 220 volt.
L’appareil doit être posé ou fixé au mur de façon à ce qu’il ne puisse pas tomber dans
l’eau. L’appareil ne doit pas être plongé dans l’eau! Avant le nettoyage, il faut toujours
enlever la prise.
L’appareil doit exclusivement être mis en service lorsque le récipient d’eau Aè pieno d’acqua.
Après usage, le récipient d’eau Adoit toujours être complètement vidé.
Le temps d’exploitation maximal est de 12 min.
Pour l’irrigation utilisez exclusivement de l’eau. Pour le nettoyage et la désinfection de l’appareil on peut
utiliser des détartrants et des désinfectants du moment qu’ils soient dosés d’une manière adéquate.
Il faut régulièrement contrôler le câble de secteur pour déterminer s’il est endommagé ou non.
En cas d’endommagements, l’appareil ne doit pas être mis en service, mais il faut prendre
contact avec un expert en électronique. Eviter toute réparation précaire. Les réparations
doivent être effectuées exclusivement avec des pièces de rechange originales, qui doivent
être installées selon l’usage prévu.
DEBALLAGE
Nous rappelons que les éléments de l’emballage (papier, cellophane, agrafes métalliques,
ruban adhésif, etc..) peuvent couper et/ou blesser s’ils ne sont pas maniés avec soin. Ils
doivent être enlevés avec des outils adéquats et ne pas être laissés à la portée de personnes
non responsables; les même règles sont valables pour les outils utilisés pour le déballage
(ciseaux, couteaux, etc... ).
La première opération à faire après avoir ouvert les emballages, est un contrôle général des pièces et
des parties qui composent la machine; vérifier que soient présents tous les composants nécessaires et
qu’ils soient en conditions parfaites.

Das Ohrspülgerät erzeugt einen pausierenden Wasserstrahl mit einstellbarem Druck.
Es ist mit einem für den otologischen Einsatz geeigneten aufsteckbaren Düsenteil mit Spritzschutzteller
Causgerüstet. Das Gerät darf nur in der Arztpraxis und nur als Ohrspülgerät verwendet werden.
Das Produkt oder einzelne Teile dürfen nicht für andere Zwecke verwendet werden, als nur für diese,
wie in diesem vorliegendem Handbuch beschrieben.
VORSCHRIFTEN
Gerät nur an ordnungsgemäß installierte Steckdose anschließen. Am Gerät liegen 220
Volt Wechselspannung an.
Gerät so stellen oder an der Wand befestigen, daß es nicht ins Wasser fallen kann. Gerät

Das Netzkabel muß regelmäßig auf Schadstellen überprüft werden.
Bei Festellung von Schadstellen das Gerät nicht in Betrieb nehmen, sondern einen
Elektrofachmann aufsuchen.
Auf jeden Fall gewagte Reparaturen vermeiden. Die Reparaturen werden nur mit
Originalersatztteilen durchgeführt, die nach dem entsprechenden Gebrauch installiert
werden.

Aucun remboursement pourra être requis pour l’arrêt de l’appareil.
La garantie n’est pas valable en cas de: réparation effectuée par un personnel non autorisé
ou avec des pièces de rechange non homologuées par GIMA, avaries ou vices causés par
négligence, coups, usage anormal de l’appareil ou erreurs d’installation.
La garantie sera révoquée si le numéro de matricule résultera enlevé, effacé ou altéré.
Les appareils considérés défectueux doivent être rendus seulement et uniquement au revendeur auprès
duquel a eu lieu l’achat. Les expéditions qui nous seront envoyées directement seront repoussées.
