2. Istruzioni generali di sicurezza
2.1 Leggere le istruzioni prima dell’uso! Prima di usare il prodotto, accertarsi di
aver ben compreso come maneggiare, far funzionare e utilizzare il prodotto. Il
mancato rispetto di queste istruzioni può compromettere la sicurezza dell’u-
tente. Tuttavia, non è possibile scongiurare e offrire protezione contro ogni
circostanza o in situazioni imprevedibili.
2.2 Non salire o scendere scale senza l’assistenza di un addetto. Usare, se dispo-
nibili, rampe e ascensori. In assenza di un accesso per disabili, sono neces-
sarie due persone per sollevare la sedia a rotelle e superare l’ostacolo.
2.3 Se possibile, piegare le pedane verso l’alto prima di salire o scendere dalla
sedia a rotelle.
2.4 Rischio di incidente se non si ha esperienza nel portare la sedia a rotelle. Si
rischia infatti di cadere o incorrere in altre situazioni pericolose. Pertan-
to, esercitarsi con la nuova sedia a rotelle facendo prima pratica su superci
regolari e diritte. Imparare come la sedia a rotelle reagisce allo spostamento
del baricentro; ad esempio, su pendenze o rampe o quando si superano osta-
coli come gradini e bordi di marciapiede. Svolgere queste attività solo con l’a-
iuto di un’altra persona. Consigliamo agli utenti inesperti di montare le ruotine
antiribaltamento sulla sedia a rotelle.
2.5 Azionare il freno contemporaneamente su tutte le gomme non funge da freno
di servizio, ma solo da freno di stazionamento (blocco ruote). Il blocco ruote
non va azionato come freno durante la guida per rallentare la sedia a rotelle,
poiché in casi estremi, un arresto brusco può provocare la caduta del pazien-
te.
2.6 Rischio di danni causati da sovraccarico. La portata massima è 120 kg.
2.7 Le ruote di guida vanno sostituite in caso di gomme danneggiate (il battistra-
da è usurato a tal punto che rimangono solo 5 mm di raggio sui bordi esterni
della gomma) o di danni al cerchione.
Le ruote di guida da 30 cm della versione da transito si sostituiscono allo
stesso modo.
3. Consegna e preparazione all’uso
(NB: Le foto presenti nel manuale possono mostrare un prodotto diverso dalla se-
dia a rotelle che avete effettivamente ricevuto).
La sedia a rotelle è solitamente consegnata completamente assemblata, piegata e
con le ruote posteriori montate.
Sono sufcienti pochi gesti per prepararla all’uso:
1. Tenendo la sedia a rotelle su un anco da in piedi (Figura 1), aprire la sedia spin-
gendo verso il basso con i palmi delle mani (Figura 2). Accertarsi che le barre
telescopiche (Figura 1-A) si siano chiuse no in fondo e che la seduta imbottita
sia completamente piatta.

2. Se applicabile, inserire i poggiapiedi dal anco nelle apposite sedi (Figura 3).
Ruotare i poggiapiedi verso l’interno nché non si bloccano in posizione. Inne,
piegare le pedane verso il basso (Figura 4).

4. Ruotine antiribaltamento montate
(solo per modello Oxford Plus)
Le ruotine antiribaltamento impediscono alla sedia a rotelle di inclinarsi troppo
all’indietro.
Le ruotine antiribaltamento vanno ruotate in posizione attiva su uno o entrambi i
lati prima dell’uso. A questo scopo, premere il perno di aggancio a scatto (parte A)
per regolare. Le ruotine antiribaltamento vanno bloccate in posizione (è percepibi-
le uno scatto) prima che siano in grado di sostenere pesi.
Per gli utenti meno esperti, l’uso delle ruotine antiribaltamento è fortemente con-
sigliato.
5. Trasporto
Afferrare il centro della seduta imbottita davanti e dietro e tirarlo verso l’alto per
piegare la sedia a rotelle (Figura 5).
Per un trasporto più agevole, es. in auto, i poggiapiedi possono essere rimossi
interamente in pochi e semplici gesti. Per spostare il poggiapiedi, premere la leva
di sgancio verso l’interno (Figura 6). A questo punto è possibile fare oscillare verso
l’esterno di 90° il poggiapiedi completo di pedana e rimuoverlo tirandolo verso
l’alto.

6. Uso del bracciolo
I pannelli laterali possono essere ribaltati all’indietro per trasferire l’utente (Figura
8). Per sollevare i pannelli laterali, servirsi della leva di sgancio (Figura 7) posta
dietro il tubo del pannello laterale. L’altezza del bracciolo non è regolabile.

7. Uso dei poggiapiedi
L’altezza dei poggiapiedi standard può essere regolata con l’ausilio di appositi
accessori (Figura 9). Svitare le viti e regolare l’altezza no a raggiungere quella più
idonea all’utente, inne serrare le viti.

8. Sostituzione della seduta e dello schienale
imbottiti
Possono essere rimossi, se necessario, allentando le viti a croce (Figura 10).
9. Pulizia e disinfezione
9.1 Pulire il tessuto con acqua calda e detergente. Rimuovere eventuali macchie
con una spugna o una spazzola morbida. Sciacquare con acqua pulita e la-
sciare asciugare i componenti.
9.2 Non usare detergenti aggressivi, solventi o spazzole dure.
9.3 Pulizia a secco. I componenti non sono lavabili in lavatrice. Per la disinfezione,
usare detergenti a base di acqua (es. concentrato Sagrotan originale). Seguire
le istruzioni d’uso del produttore.
9.4 Prima di disinfettare, pulire tessuti e maniglie. Le parti in plastica, i componenti
del telaio, della struttura e delle ruote possono essere puliti con un detergente
delicato. Lasciare asciugare completamente dopo la pulizia.

10. Riuso
Informazioni per il riuso
Il prodotto può essere riutilizzato. Così come accade con le auto o le macchine
di seconda mano, i prodotti usati sono soggetti a maggiori sollecitazioni. Non è
possibile apportare modiche a caratteristiche e funzioni che mettano in pericolo
pazienti o terze persone durante la vita utile del prodotto.
Sulla base di ricerche di mercato e dello stato attuale della tecnologia, il fabbricante
ha calcolato che il prodotto può essere usato per un periodo di 4 anni, a condizione
che sia usato correttamente e che si rispettino le istruzioni di cura e manutenzione. I
periodi durante i quali il prodotto è conservato presso il rivenditore o dal terzo acqui-
rente non sono inclusi in tale periodo. Si noti che, tuttavia, il prodotto può continuare
ad essere afdabile anche ben oltre il periodo di tempo sopra indicato, a condizione
che sia regolarmente e correttamente curato e sottoposto a manutenzione.
In caso di riuso, il prodotto in questione va prima pulito e disinfettato con cura.
Successivamente, il prodotto va esaminato da un esperto autorizzato che ne con-
trolli le condizioni, l’usura e la presenza di eventuali danni.
Eventuali componenti usurati o danneggiati che non superano tale controllo o non
risultano idonei per l’utente vanno sostituiti.

2. General Safety Instructions
2.1 Please read the instructions for use rst! Before using the product, you should
be familiar with the handling, function and use of the product. You may com-
promise your safety if you do not observe these instructions. However, it is
impossible to protect against and avoid all unforeseeable circumstances and
situations.
2.2 Do not ascend or descend stairs without the assistance of attendants.
If devices such as ramps or elevators are available, they should be used. If
wheelchair-friendly access is missing, two attendants must carry the wheel-
chair over the obstacle.
2.3 If possible, the footplates should be ipped up before getting into or out of the
wheelchair.
2.4 Risk of accident when driving without experience. This can lead to falls and
other dangerous situations. Therefore, familiarize yourself with the new wheel-
chair by practicing on even, straightforward terrain rst. Learn how the wheel-
chair reacts when the center of gravity shifts; for example on slopes or inclines
or when clearing obstacles such as steps and curbs. This should be done only
with the assistance of another person. Using an anti-tipper is strongly recom-
mended for inexperienced wheelchair users.
2.5 All brakes acting on the tires do not serve as service brake but are only de-
signed as parking brake (wheel lock). The wheel locks must not be used as
driving brakes for slowing down the wheelchair, as in extreme cases, the
abrupt stopping of the wheelchair can lead to falls.
2.6 Risk of damage caused by overload. The maximum load capacity is 120 kg.
2.7 The drive wheels must be replaced in case of tire damage (tread becomes
worn down to such an extent that there is only 5 mm of radius left on the outer
edges of the tire) or damage on the rim.
The 12” drive wheels of the transfer version is replaced in the same way.
3. Delivery and Preparation for Use
(Please Note: The photos here may show differences to the wheelchair you actually
received).
Your wheelchair is usually delivered fully assembled, folded, and with the rear
wheels mounted.
A few simple steps are sufcient to prepare it for use:
1. While standing next to the wheelchair (Figure 1), unfold the wheelchair using at
hands (Figure 2). Ensure that the telescoping bars (Figure 1-A) are completely
collapsed and that the seat upholstery is attened out.

2. If applicable, insert the footrests into the receivers from the side (Figure 3). Turn
the footrests inward until locking to the right place. Finally, fold down the foot-
plates (Figure 4).

4. Mounted Anti-Tipper
(only for Oxford Plus model)
The anti-tipper prevents the wheelchair from tipping too far backward.
The anti-tipper must be rotated into the active position on one or both sides be-
fore use. This is accomplished by pressing the ball ratchets (Item A) and making
the adjustment. The anti-tipper must audibly lock in place, before it is able to bear
loads.
For untrained wheelchair users, the use of an anti-tipper is strongly recommended.
5 Transportation
Grab the middle of seat upholstery at the front and the back and pull it upwards,
the wheelchair will be folded (Figure 5).
For more manageable transportation, e.g. in cars, the footrests can be entirely
removed in just a few easy steps. To move the footrest, press the release lever to
the inside (Figure 6). The footrest with footplate can then be swung outward by 90°
and be removed by pulling it upward.

6. Armrest usage
The side panels can be ipped-up to the rear for transfer user (Figure 7).
To raise the side panel, manipulate the release lever (Figure 8) behind the side
panel tube. The height of the armrest is not adjustable.

7. Footrests usage
The height of standard footrests can be changed with tools (Figure 9). To release
the screws and then adjust the height to right place for user, nally tighten the
screws.

8. Replacing the Seat and Back Upholstery
Can be removed if necessary by loosening the cross screws (Figure 10).
9. Cleaning and Disinfection
9.1 Clean the upholstery with warm water and a washing-up liquid.
Remove spots with a sponge or a soft brush. Rinse with clear water and let
the components dry.
9.2 Do not use any aggressive cleansing agents, solvents, or hard brushes etc.
9.3 No wet-cleaning. Components are not machine washable. For disinfection,
water-based agents (e.g. Sagrotan original concentrate) should be used. The
manufacturer‘s instructions for use must be observed.
9.4 Before disinfecting, the pads and handles must be cleaned. Plastic parts,
frame parts as well as chassis and wheels can be cleaned with a mild deter-
gent. Dry thoroughly afterwards.

10. Re-use
Information on Re-Use
The product is suitable for re-use. Similar to second-hand machines or cars, prod-
ucts that are being re-used are subject to increased strain. Features and functions
must not change in a way that could endanger patients or other persons within the
product’s life cycle.
Based on market observations and the current state of technology, the manufac-
turer has calculated that the product can be used for a period of 4 years, provid-
ed that it is used properly and that the service and maintenance instructions are
observed. Periods during which the product is stored at the dealer or with the
third-party payer are not included in this period. It should be clearly pointed out,
however, that the product is reliable far beyond this dened period of time, provid-
ed that it is cared for and maintained appropriately.
In cases of re-use, the affected product must rst be thoroughly cleaned and dis-
infected. Subsequently, the product must be examined by an authorised specialist
to check the condition, wear and possible damage. Any worn and damaged com-
ponents as well as components which do not t or are not suitable for the user
must be replaced.

2. Instructions générales de sécurité
2.1 Merci de lire ces instructions avant d’utiliser le fauteuil ! Avant d’utiliser le
produit, il est nécessaire de bien connaître la manipulation, le fonctionnement
et l’utilisation du produit. Vous risquez de compromettre votre sécurité en cas
de non-respect de ces instructions. Cependant, il est impossible de garantir

une protection et d’éviter certaines circonstances et situations imprévisibles.
2.2 Ne pas monter ni descendre des escaliers sans l’assistance d’accompagna-
teurs. Si des dispositifs tels que rampes ou ascenseurs sont disponibles, ils
doivent être utilisés. En l’absence d’accès adaptés aux fauteuils roulants,
deux accompagnateurs doivent porter le fauteuil roulant pour surmonter
l’obstacle.
2.3 Si possible, les palettes doivent être basculées vers le haut avant de mon-
ter ou de descendre du fauteuil roulant.
2.4 Risque d’accident quand on guide sans expérience. Cette conduite peut pro-
voquer des chutes ou d’autres situations dangereuses. Par conséquent, il est
nécessaire de se familiariser avec le nouveau fauteuil roulanten s’entraînant,
tout d’abord, sur un terrain plat et sans courbes. Apprenez les réactions du
fauteuil roulant quand le centre de gravité se déplace; par exemple, dans des
pentes ou des inclinaisons ou quand vous passez des obstacles tels que des
marches ou des virages. Cet entraînement doit être effectué exclusivement
avec l’aide d’une autre personne. Utiliser un système anti-basculement est
fortement recommandé pour les utilisateurs de fauteuil roulant sans expé-
rience.
2.5 Tous les freins agissant sur les roues ne servent pas de frein de service mais ils
sont uniquement conçus comme frein de stationnement (blocage des roues).
Les blocages des roues ne doivent pas être utilisés pour ralentir le fauteuil
roulant dans la mesure où dans des cas extrêmes, l’arrêt soudain du fauteuil
roulant peut entraîner des chutes.
2.6 Risque de dommage causé par une surcharge. Le poids maximal admis est
de 120 kg.
2.7 Les roues motrices doivent être remplacées quand les pneus sont endomma-
gés (usure de la bande de roulement avec seulement 5 mm de rayon resté sur
les bords extérieurs du pneu) ou en cas de dommage sur la jante. Les roues
motrices de 12’’ de la version transfert sont remplacées dans les mêmes cas.
3. Livraison et préparation pour l’utilisation
(Nota Bene: Les photos présentées peuvent différer du fauteuil roulant que vous
recevrez effectivement).
Votre fauteuil roulant est généralement livré déjà assemblé, plié et avec les roues
arrière montées.
Quelques opérations simples sufsent à le préparer pour pouvoir l’utiliser:
1. Lorsque vous vous trouvez près du fauteuil roulant (Figure 1), dépliez le fauteuil
avec les mains à plat (Figure 2). Assurez-vous que les barres télescopiques (Fi-
gure 1-A) sont entièrement abaissées et que la garniture de l’assise est bien à
plat.

2. Le cas échéant, enlez les repose-pieds dans les récepteurs sur le côté (Figure
3). Tournez les repose-pieds vers l’intérieur jusqu’à ce qu’ils se bloquent dans
la bonne position. Enn, dépliez vers le bas les palettes repose-pieds (Figure 4).
