Safety rules for laser lights
The laser light/laser radiation used in the GMC®system
is Class 2 with maximum ≤1mW and 650nm wavelength.
These lasers do not normally present an optical hazard,
although staring at the beam may cause flash blindness.
WARNING. Do not stare directly at the laser beam.
A hazard may exist if you deliberately stare into the beam,
please observe all safety rules as follows;
• The laser shall be used and maintained in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Never aim the beam at any person or an object other
than the work piece.
• The laser beam shall not be deliberately aimed at
personnel and shall be prevented from being directed
towards the eye of a person for longer than 0.25s.
• Always ensure the laser beam is aimed at a sturdy work
piece without reflective surfaces. i.e. wood or rough
coated surfaces are acceptable. Bright shiny reflective
sheet steel or the like is not suitable for laser use as
the reflective surface could direct the beam back at the
operator.
• Do not change the laser light assembly with a different
type. Repairs must only be carried out by the laser
manufacturer or an authorised agent.
CAUTION. Use of controls or adjustments or performance
of procedures other than those specified herein may result
in hazardous radiation exposure.
Please refer to the relevant EN standards, EN60825 for
more information on Lasers.
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING. Read all safety warnings and all
instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-
operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless)
power tool.
1. WORK AREA SAFETY
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark
areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while operating
a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adaptor plugs
with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

f. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3. PERSONAL SAFETY
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
b. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c. Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the
off position before plugging in. Carrying power tools with
your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times. This enables better control of the power tool
in unexpected situations.
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of these devices
can reduce dust related hazards.
4. POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool
for your application. The correct power tool will do the job
better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn
it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power source before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool
or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Always unplug your power tool when leaving
unattended. Such preventative safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally
by untrained users.
f. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power tools
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
g. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
h. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.,
in accordance with these instructions and in the
manner intended for the particular type of power
tool, taking into account the working conditions and
the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could result in
a hazardous situation.
5. SERVICE
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Additional safety rules for jigsaws
WARNINGS. Before connecting a tool to a power source
(mains switch power point receptacle, outlet, etc.) be sure
that the voltage supply is the same as that specified on the
nameplate of the tool. A power source with a voltage greater
than that specified for the tool can result in serious injury to
the user, as well as damage to the tool. If in doubt, do not
plug in the tool. Using a power source with a voltage less
than the nameplate rating is harmful to the motor.
Your tool is double insulated for additional protection against
a possible electrical insulation failure within the tool.
Always remove the plug from the mains socket before
making any adjustments or maintenance, including
changing the blade.
• Ensure that the lighting is adequate.
• Do not use the saw unless the guards are in place
• Keep the shoe flat on the work piece.
• Do not put pressure on the saw, such that it slows the
motor down. Allow the saw blade to cut without pressure.
You will get better results and you will be taking better
care of your tool.
• Keep the area free of tripping hazards.
• Do not let anyone under 18 years operate this jigsaw.
• Only use blades in good condition.
• Before cutting, check that there is sufficient clearance for
the blade under the work piece.
• Do not touch the blade after operation. It will be very hot.
• Keep your hands away from under the work piece.
• Never use your hands to remove sawdust, chips or waste
close by the blade.
• Rags, cloths, cord, string and the like should never be left
around the work area.
• Avoid cutting nails. Inspect the work piece and remove all
nails and other foreign objects before beginning sawing.
• Support the work properly.
• Never reach over the blade to remove waste or off cuts.
• Do not attempt to free a jammed blade before first
switching off the machine.
• If you are interrupted when operating the saw, complete
the process and switch off before looking up.
• Periodically check that all nuts, bolts and other fixings are
properly tightened.
• Do not store materials or equipment above a machine in
such a way that they could fall into it.
• Always hold the saw on parts that are insulated. If you
accidentally cut into hidden wiring or the saw’s own cable,
the metal parts of the saw will become ‘live’.
• Do not secure the jigsaw upside down in a vice or work
bench and use it as a saw bench. This can lead to
serious injury.
• When using the jigsaw, use safety equipment including
safety goggles or shield, ear defenders, dust mask and
protective clothing including safety gloves.

Unpacking
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
that your power tool is faulty or that a part is missing. If you
find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the parts
have been replaced or the fault has been rectified. Failure
to do so could result in serious personal injury.
Assembly
The GMC jigsaw is packed, fully assembled except for
the blade.

Adjusting the shoe for angular cutting
The shoe plate (4) should be
kept flat against the work piece
when making a cut. It can be
tilted left and right to change
the angle of cut.
CAUTION. Always ensure
that the jigsaw is switched off
and plug is removed from the
power point before making any
adjustments.
1. To adjust the angle of
cutting, first turn the jigsaw
upside down and lift the
shoe lock (17) to the vertical
position.
2. If you are adjusting the shoe
for the first time you need
to turn the shoe lock anti-
clockwise until it is loose
enough to allow the shoe to
be moved forward and be
tilted.
3. The shoe plate can be
tilted to set positions at
45° each way and at 0°. It
can also be tilted to other
angles between the set
positions using the scale located on the base, close to
the pendulum lever (10), to judge the angle of cut.
4. Retighten the shoe lock clockwise and press the lever flat
against the jigsaw base.
NOTE. For accurate work it is necessary to make a trial
cut, measure the work and reset the angle until the correct
setting is achieved.
Switching the jigsaw on/off
1. Connect the plug to the
power point
2. Start the tool by squeezing
the on/off trigger switch (2).
Release the trigger to stop
the tool.
If you press the lock on button
(5) while the trigger switch is
depressed, the switch is kept in
the operating position.
Adjusting the cutting speed
The variable speed feature of
this jigsaw enhances the cutting
performance and saves the
blade from undue wear.
The electronic speed control
dial (11) is used to program
the speed of the blade. The
speed should be adapted to the
material being cut.
Use your finger or thumb to
turn the dial forwards to increase the speed and backwards
to decrease it.
Pendulum adjustment
The pendulum lever (10) has 4
positions. The first position “0”
selects normal cutting without
pendulum action. The next 3
positions (1, 2 and 3) cause
the blade to swing slightly
backwards and forwards as it
cuts. This pendulum actions
increases the efficiency of cutting. Set the pendulum lever
(10) to one of the three settings (1,2 or 3) according to
degree of pendulum action required. Experiment on a piece
of scrap material to determine the optimum pendulum action
setting for the material of the work piece.

Making a cut
WARNING. The blade guard
(6) should always be in place
when the jigsaw is in use.
1. Switch on the jigsaw and
allow the blade to reach
maximum speed.
2. Slowly guide the jigsaw
forward using both hands, keeping the shoe plate flat
against the work piece. Do not force the jigsaw.
NOTE. Use only enough pressure to keep the blade cutting.
Do not force the cutting, allow the blade and the saw to do
the work.
Pocket & round cutting
1. When starting a cut from
the centre of a work piece,
drill a 12mm diameter hole
to ensure that there is
clearance for the blade.
2. When cutting tight curves,
reduce the speed of the saw.
WARNING. Do not move the saw forward along its cut until
the blade has completely entered the material and the shoe
comes to rest on its surface.
Cutting metal
1. When cutting metals, a suitable cooling/cutting oil must
be used.
2. Squirt the lubricant onto the blade or work piece at
regular intervals during cutting in order to reduce wear on
the blade.
Parallel fence
The parallel fence (9) fits into the shoe plate (4) and is
locked in place with the locking knob. It is used to guide
the jigsaw along a straight line which can be an edge of the
work piece or a piece of straight timber clamped to the work
piece. By changing the position
of the guide and using the
same straight edge as a guide,
it is possible to quickly and
easily make parallel cuts in the
work piece.
Blade guide
The blade guide (7) is spring
loaded. Depending on the
position of the pendulum
lever (10), the guide remains
stationary (non-pendulum)
or oscillates backwards and
forwards, causing the blade to
cut with a pendulum action.
Changing a blade
WARNING. Always ensure that the saw is switched off and
plug is removed from the power point before making any
adjustments.
Removing the blade
1. Turn the unit upside so you
can access the jigsaw blade
2. Using your thumb and
forefinger push down the
tool free blade change
control on both sides on the
jigsaw blade ensuring that
your fingers do not contact
the teeth of the jigsaw blade.
3. Whilst the tool-free blade change control (12) is pressed
down the blade to be replaced is free and can be easily
removed by using your other hand.
NOTE. If the blade is difficult to release using the blade
change control, lightly tap the end of the blade with a
wooden mallet or similar. This will free the blade which can
then be released as before using the blade change control.

Refitting a new blade
1. Ensure the blade change
control (12) is pressed down,
slide the new blade into the
locating groove in the blade
clamp with the teeth pointing
forward, ensuring that the
blade rear edge is located
and supported by the blade
guide (7).
2. Release the blade change
control and the blade will
secure firmly in place.
3. Replace the plug and run
the jigsaw under no load to
check that it runs smoothly
and the blade is secure
before using it to cut any
materials.
Dust extraction adaptor
The dust extraction adaptor (13) allows a dust extraction
system or a household vacuum cleaner to be connected to
the tool in order to remove dust whilst the tool is in use.
WARNING. Do not use a dust extraction system or a
vacuum cleaner when cutting metal. Sparks may ignite
residual wood dust.
Blade storage
Both sides of the shoe have
blade storage area for one
blade each. Slide the blade
storage tab to the left for the
left side or to the right for the
right side. A blade can then
be inserted or removed from
the shoe.
Using the GMC®laser guide system
Laser light assembly
The laser light is powered from a transformer housed within
the assembly. The GMC®laser guide line can be used for
improved operator cutting vision, accuracy of cut, faster
set-up and increased safety of operation.
Laser light on/off switch
The laser beam can be switched on and off using the
switch (1).
Laser aperture
When the GMC®laser guide is switched on, an intense
narrow beam of pure red light is emitted from the laser
aperture (15). The line shines along the work piece to guide
you as you cut. The line is clearly visible and will not be
obscured by sawdust.
Maintenance
WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched off and
the plug is removed from the power point before making any
adjustments or maintenance procedures.
1. Keep the tool’s air vents unclogged and clean at all times.
2. Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter
has entered the grills near the motor and around
the trigger switch. Use a soft brush to remove any
accumulated dust. Wear safety glasses to protect your
eyes whilst cleaning.
3. Re-lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
4. If the body of the saw needs cleaning, wipe it with a soft
damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used but nothing like
alcohol, petrol or other cleaning agent.
5. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
CAUTION. Water must never come into contact with
the saw.

Power cord maintenance
If the supply cord needs replacing, the task must be carried
out by the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s agent, or an
authorised service centre in order to avoid a safety hazard.
General inspection
Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They
may vibrate loose over time.

Veiligheidsregels voor laserlicht®
Het laserlicht / de laserstraling die wordt gebruikt in het
GMC® systeem is van klasse 2, met maximaal 1 mW en
650nm golflengte. Deze lasers vormen normaalgesproken
geen optisch gevaar, hoewel het kijken naar de straal
plotseling opkomende blindheid kan veroorzaken.
WAARSCHUWING. Kijk niet rechtstreeks in de laserstraal.
Het kan gevaarlijk zijn wanneer u expres in de straal kijkt,
neem de volgende veiligheidsregels in acht:
• De laser moet worden gebruikt en onderhouden in
overeenstemming met de instructies van de fabrikant.
• Richt de straal nooit op een persoon of op een object
anders dan het werkstuk.
• De laserstraal mag niet opzettelijk op personeel worden
gericht en mag niet langer dan 0,25 sec. op het oog van
een persoon worden gericht.
• Zorg er altijd voor dat de laserstraal gericht wordt op
een stevig werkstuk zonder reflecterende oppervlakken,
hout of ruwe oppervlakken zijn bijvoorbeeld geschikt.
Helder glanzend, reflecterend plaatstaal of iets dergelijks
is niet geschikt voor het gebruik van laser, omdat het
reflecterende oppervlak de straal terug kan richten naar
degene die het gereedschap bedient.
• Vervang de laserlichtconstructie niet door een ander type.
Reparaties mogen alleen worden uitgevoerd door de
laserfabrikant of een bevoegde tussenpersoon.
LET OP. Het gebruik van bedieningsinrichtingen of het doen
van aanpassingen of het uitvoeren van procedures anders
dan de hierin gespecificeerde, kan leiden tot blootstelling
aan gevaarlijke straling.
Raadpleeg de relevante EN standaarden, EN60825 voor
meer informatie over lasers.
Algemene veiligheidsregels
WAARSCHUWING. Lees alle instructies door. Het niet
opvolgen van alle instructies die hieronder vermeld staan, kan
resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel
De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde
waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op uw op de stroom
aangesloten (met een snoer) elektrische gereedschap of uw
met een accu (snoerloos) bediende elektrische gereedschap
Bewaar deze instructies
1. Werkgebied
a. Houd het werkgebied schoon en zorg voor een goede
verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak tot
ongelukken.
b. Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve
omgevingen, , zoals bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid
van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen
kunnen doen ontbranden.
c. Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u
elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding kunt u de
controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2. Veiligheid met betrekking tot elektriciteit
a. De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten
passen bij het stopcontact. U mag op geen enkele manier
de stekker aanpassen. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers
bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap. Het gebruikmaken
van ongewijzigde stekkers en bijpassende stopcontacten
vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok..
b. Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken
zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en koelkasten. Het
risico op een elektrische schok neemt toe als uw lichaam
geaard wordt .
c. Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer
elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het risico op een
elektrische schok toe.
d. Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om te
dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het stopcontact
te trekken. Houd het snoer verwijderd van hitte, olie,
scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Door beschadigde
of in de knoop geraakte snoeren neemt het risico op een
elektrische schok toe.
e. Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt,

maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is
voor gebruik buitenshuis. Het gebruik van een snoer dat
geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis vermindert het risico op
een elektrische schok.
3. Persoonlijke veiligheid
a. Blijf alert, houd uw aandacht gericht op wat u aan het
doen bent en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u
elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik het elektrisch
gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder
invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Eén moment
van onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van elektrisch
gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk letsel.
b. Maak gebruik van veiligheidsmateriaal. Draag altijd
oogbescherming. Veiligheidsmateriaal dat onder de juiste
omstandigheden gebruikt wordt, zoals een stofmasker, niet-
slippend veiligheidsschoeisel, een helm of oorbescherming,
vermindert persoonlijk letsel.
c. Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt
gestart. Kijk of de schakelaar in de uit-stand staat voordat
u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het dragen van
elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de schakelaar of
het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met
de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot ongelukken leiden.
d. Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het
elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of
stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het
elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot persoonlijk
letsel.
e. Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo
houdt u meer controle over het elektrische gereedschap in
onverwachte situaties.
f. Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende
kleding of sieraden. Houd uw haar, kleding en
handschoenen weg van bewegende delen. Loshangende
kleding, sieraden of lang haar kunnen in bewegende delen
terechtkomen.
g. Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling
worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan aan en gebruik
deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze onderdelen
kan het risico op stofgerelateerde ongelukken verminderen.
4. Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a. Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch
gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk dat u wilt
uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en
veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de
schakelaar het apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt. Elk
elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met de
schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c. Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u
instellingen aanpast, accessoires verandert of
het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke
voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d. Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op
buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen die niet
bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of met
deze instructies het elektrische gereedschap niet
bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de handen
van onervaren gebruikers.
e. Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer
op foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van bewegende
delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap zou
kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische gereedschap
beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren voordat u het
weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door
slecht onderhouden elektrisch gereedschap.
f. Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed
onderhouden scherp snijdende snijwerktuigen slaan minder
snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
g. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, de accessoires
en onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies en zoals is
bedoeld voor elk specifiek type elektrisch gereedschap,
en houd daarbij rekening met de werkomstandigheden
en het uit te voeren werk. Gebruik van elektrisch
gereedschap voor werkzaamheden die verschillen van
die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot een
gevaarlijke situatie.
5. Onderhoud
a. Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door
een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen identieke
vervangende onderdelen. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de
veiligheid van het elektrische gereedschap gewaarborgd
blijft.

Aanvullende veiligheidsregels voor
decoupeerzagen
WAARSCHUWINGEN. Voordat u gereedschap met de stroom
verbindt (stopcontact, verlengsnoer, etc.), dient u ervoor te
zorgen dat het voltage gelijk is aan wat op het gegevensplaatje
van het gereedschap wordt vermeld. Indien het voltage van de
stroombron hoger is dan op het gereedschap vermeld staat,
kan dit leiden tot ernstig letsel voor de gebruiker en schade aan
het gereedschap. Verbind het gereedschap niet met de stroom
indien u twijfelt. Indien u een stroombron gebruikt met een
voltage dat lager is dan op het gegevensplaatje staat vermeld,
is dit schadelijk voor de motor.
Uw gereedschap is dubbel geïsoleerd voor extra bescherming
tegen een mogelijk elektrisch isolatieprobleem binnenin het
gereedschap.
Haal altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u instellingen
aanpast of onderhoud pleegt, inclusief het vervangen van
zaagblad.
• Gebruik de zaag alleen als de beschermkappen op hun
plaats zitten
• Houd de voetplaat plat op het werkstuk.
• Oefen niet zoveel druk op de zaag uit dat dit de motor
vertraagt. Laat het zaagblad zonder druk zagen. U krijgt een
beter resultaat en het is beter voor uw gereedschap.
• Houd uw werkgebied vrij van zaken waar u over kunt
struikelen.
• Laat personen jonger dan 18 jaar niet met deze
decoupeerzaag werken.
• Gebruik alleen zaagbladen die in goede conditie zijn.
• Controleer voor het zagen of er onder het werkstuk
voldoende ruimte voor het zaagblad is.
• Raak het zaagblad na het zagen niet aan. Het is erg heet.
• Houd uw handen niet onder het werkstuk.
• Verwijder zaagstof, spaanders of afval vlakbij het zaagblad
nooit met uw handen.
• Lappen, kleden, snoeren, koorden en dergelijke mogen nooit
in het werkgebied rondslingeren.
• Zaag niet door spijkers. Inspecteer het werkstuk en verwijder
alle spijkers en andere vreemde objecten voordat u begint te
zagen.
• Ondersteun het werk goed.
• Reik nooit over het zaagblad heen om afval of afgezaagde
stukken te verwijderen.
• Probeer een zaagblad dat vastzit niet los te maken voordat u
de machine hebt uitgeschakeld.
• Als u gestoord wordt tijdens het zagen, maak uw werk dan
af en schakel de zaag uit voordat u op- of omkijkt.
• Controleer regelmatig of alle moeren, bouten en andere
onderdelen nog goed vastzitten.
• Berg materiaal en apparaten niet boven een machine op
zodat ze erin kunnen vallen.
• Houd de zaag altijd vast aan onderdelen die geïsoleerd zijn.
Als u per ongeluk in verborgen bedrading zaagt of in het
eigen snoer van de zaag, komen de metalen delen van de
zaag onder stroom te staan.
• Zet de decoupeerzaag niet ondersteboven in een klem of
werkbank om hem als zaagbank te gebruiken. Dit kan tot
ernstig letsel leiden.
• Wanneer u de decoupeerzaag gebruikt, dient u
veiligheidsmateriaal te gebruiken, inclusief een veiligheidsbril
of -schild, gehoorbescherming, een stofmasker en
beschermende kleding inclusief veiligheidshandschoenen.

Uitpakken
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
tVanwege de moderne massaproductietechnieken is het
niet waarschijnlijk dat uw elektrische gereedschap gebreken
vertoont of dat er een onderdeel ontbreekt. Als u ziet dat er
iets niet in orde is, gebruik het gereedschap dan niet totdat de
onderdelen vervangen zijn of het defect is hersteld. Indien u dit
niet doet, kan dit leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk letsel
Montage
De GMC-decoupeerzaag is volledig gemonteerd verpakt, met
uitzondering van het zaagblad.

De voetplaat instellen voor hoekzagen
De voetplaat (4) moet plat op
het werkstuk gehouden worden
wanneer u zaagt. Hij kan naar
rechts of links gekanteld worden
om de zaaghoek te veranderen.
LET OP. Zorg er altijd voor
dat de decoupeerzaag is
uitgeschakeld en dat de stekker
uit het stopcontact is gehaald
voordat u iets aanpast.
1. Om de zaaghoek aan
te passen, moet u de
decoupeerzaag eerst
ondersteboven zetten en de
voetplaatvergrendeling (17)
verticaal zetten.
2. Als u de voetplaat voor de
eerste keer instelt, moet u
de voetplaatvergrendeling
linksom draaien tot hij zo
los zit dat de voetplaat naar
voren bewogen en gekanteld
kan worden.
3. De voetplaat kan gekanteld
worden naar een stand
van 45° en 0° naar beide
kanten. Hij kan ook naar
andere hoeken tussen deze ingestelde standen gekanteld
worden, waarbij u de schaalverdeling op de voetplaat, vlak
bij de pendelhendel (10), gebruikt om de zaaghoek vast te
stellen.
4. Zet de voetplaatvergrendeling rechtsom weer vast en druk
de hendel plat tegen de voetplaat van de decoupeerzaag.
LET OP. Om nauwkeurig te werken, moet u eerst een
testzaagsnede maken, het werk meten en de hoek opnieuw
instellen totdat de juiste instelling is bereikt.
De decoupeerzaag aan/uitschakelen
1. Steek de stekker in het
stopcontact
2. Start het gereedschap door in
de aan/uit-trekkerschakelaar
(2) te knijpen. Laat de trekker
los om het gereedschap te
stoppen.
Als u op de vergrendelknop
(5) drukt terwijl de
trekkerschakelaar is ingedrukt,
dan blijft de schakelaar in de operationele positie staan.
De zaagsnelheid instellen
Deze decoupeerzaag heeft
een variabele snelheid, wat
de zaagprestaties verhoogt en
het zaagblad beschermt tegen
voortijdige slijtage.
Met de elektronische
snelheidscontroleknop (11)
kunt u de snelheid van het blad
programmeren. De snelheid
moet worden aangepast aan het
materiaal dat u zaagt.
Gebruik uw vinger of uw duim om de knop voorwaarts te
draaien om de snelheid te verhogen en achterwaarts om deze
te verlagen.
Instellen pendelen
De pendelhendel (4) heeft
4 standen. De eerste stand
“0” is voor normaal zagen
zonder pendelen. De volgende
3 standen (1, 2 en 3) laten
het zaagblad enigszins
achterwaarts en voorwaarts
zwenken tijdens het zagen.
Dit pendelen verhoogt de effectiviteit van het zagen. Stel de
pendelhendel (10) in op één van de drie standen (1, 2 of 3)
die overeenstemt met de mate van pendelen die u wenst.
Experimenteer op een stukje afvalmateriaal om de beste
pendelstand te bepalen voor het materiaal van het werkstuk.

Een zaagsnede maken
WAARSCHUWING. De zaagkap
(6) moet altijd op zijn plaats
zitten als de decoupeerzaag in
gebruik is.
1. Schakel de decoupeerzaag
in en laat het zaagblad de
maximale snelheid bereiken.
2. Geleid de decoupeerzaag
langzaam met beide handen naar voren, waarbij u
de voetplaat plat op het werkstuk houdt. Forceer de
decoupeerzaag niet.
LET OP. Gebruik net voldoende druk om het zaagblad
aan het zagen te houden. Forceer het zagen
niet, laat het zaagblad en de zaag het werk doen.
Gat- en rondzagen
1. Wanneer u begint te zagen
vanuit het midden van een
werkstuk, boort u een gat
met een diameter van 12
mm, zodat er ruimte voor het
zaagblad is.
2. Wanneer u scherpe hoeken
zaagt, dient u de snelheid van
de zaag te reduceren.
WAARSCHUWING. Voer de zaag niet naar voren langs de
zaaglijn voordat het zaagblad helemaal in het materiaal zit en
de voetplaat op het oppervlak rust.
Metaal zagen
1. Wanneer u metaal zaagt, moet u een geschikte koel-/
zaagolie gebruiken.
2. Spuit tijdens het zagen het smeermiddel met regelmatige
tussenpozen op het zaagblad of werkstuk om de slijtage
van het zaagblad te verminderen.
Parallelgeleider
De parallelgeleider (9) past in de voetplaat (4) en wordt
op zijn plaats gehouden met de vergrendelknop. Hij wordt
gebruikt om de decoupeerzaag langs een rechte lijn te
geleiden. Dit kan de rand van het werkstuk zijn of een rechte
lat die op het werkstuk is geklemd. Door de positie van de
geleider te wijzigen en dezelfde
rechte hoek als richtlijn te
gebruiken, is het mogelijk om
snel en eenvoudig parallelle
zaagsnedes te maken in het
werkstuk.
Zaagbladgeleider
De zaagbladgeleider (7) werkt
met een veer. Afhankelijk van de
stand van de pendelhendel (10)
blijft de geleider stationair (niet-
pendelen) of trilt hij achteruit en
vooruit, waardoor het zaagblad
pendelzaagt.
Zaagblad vervangen
WAARSCHUWING. Zorg
er altijd voor dat de zaag is
uitgeschakeld en dat de stekker
uit het stopcontact is gehaald
voordat u iets aanpast.
Het zaagblad verwijderen
1. Draai het apparaat
ondersteboven, zodat u
bij het zaagblad van de
decoupeerzaag kunt.
2. Duw met uw duim
en wijsvinger de
gereedschapsvrije
zaagbladwisselknop aan
beide kanten van het
zaagblad naar beneden, waarbij u ervoor moet zorgen dat
uw vingers niet in contact komen met de tanden van het
zaagblad van de decoupeerzaag.
3. Wanneer de gereedschapsvrije zaagbladwisselknop (12)
wordt ingedrukt, ligt het zaagblad dat vervangen moet
worden bloot. Het kan dan gemakkelijk verwijderd worden
met uw andere hand.
LET OP. Als het lastig is het zaagblad los te krijgen met
de zaagbladwisselknop, klop dan lichtjes met een houten
hamer o.i.d. op het uiteinde van het zaagblad. Zo komt het
zaagblad vrij en kan het verwijderd worden zoals hierboven
beschreven.

Een nieuw zaagblad monteren
1. Draai het apparaat
ondersteboven, zodat u
bij het zaagblad van de
decoupeerzaag kunt.
2. Duw met uw duim
en wijsvinger de
gereedschapsvrije
zaagbladwisselknop aan
beide kanten van het
zaagblad naar beneden,
waarbij u ervoor moet
zorgen dat uw vingers niet
in contact komen met de
tanden van het zaagblad van
de decoupeerzaag.
3. Wanneer de
gereedschapsvrije
zaagbladwisselknop (12)
wordt ingedrukt, ligt het
zaagblad dat vervangen
moet worden bloot. Het kan dan gemakkelijk verwijderd
worden met uw andere hand
Stofafvoeradapter
U kunt een stofafvoersysteem of een huishoudstofzuiger
verbinden met de stofafvoeradapter (13) om tijdens gebruik
stof af te voeren.
WAARSCHUWING. Gebruik geen stofafvoersysteem of
stofzuiger wanneer u metaal
zaagt. Door de vonken kunnen
restjes houtstof in brand
vliegen.
Opbergruimte zaagblad
Aan beide kanten van de
voetplaat bevindt zich een
opbergruimte voor een
zaagblad. Schuif de klep voor
de opbergruimte naar links voor
de linkerkant en naar rechts voor de rechterkant. U kunt nu
een zaagblad in de voetplaat plaatsen of eruit halen.
Het GMC®lasergeleidingssysteem gebruiken
Laserlichtconstructie
Het laserlicht wordt gevoed door een transformator binnenin
de constructie. De GMC®lasergeleiding kan gebruikt
worden voor een beter zicht op het zaagwerk, nauwkeuriger
zagen, snellere instelling en grotere veiligheid.
Aan/uit-schakelaar laserlicht
De laserstraal kan aan- en uitgeschakeld worden met de
schakelaar (1).
Laseropening
Als de GMC®lasergeleiding is ingeschakeld, wordt er een
intense smalle straal puur rood licht uitgezonden vanuit de

geleiden tijdens het zagen. De lijn is duidelijk zichtbaar en
wordt niet gehinderd door zaagstof.
Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING. Zorg er altijd voor dat het gereedschap
is uitgeschakeld en dat de stekker uit het stopcontact is
gehaald voordat u instellings- of onderhoudprocedures
uitvoert.
1. Houd de ventilatieopeningen van het gereedschap altijd
schoon en open.
2. Controleer regelmatig om te zien of er stof of ander
ongewenst materiaal
in de roosters bij de motor en rondom de trekkerschakelaar
zit. Gebruik een zachte borstel om eventueel opgehoopt
stof te verwijderen. Draag tijdens het schoonmaken een
veiligheidsbril om uw ogen te beschermen.
3. Smeer alle bewegende delen regelmatig.
4. Als de behuizing van de zaag schoongemaakt moet
worden, neem deze dan af met een zachte, vochtige
doek. U mag een mild reinigingsmiddel gebruiken,
maar geen stoffen als alcohol, benzine of andere
reinigingsmiddelen.
5. Gebruik nooit bijtende middelen om plastic onderdelen te
reinigen.
