ATTACHMENT FOR G0733/G0766
INSTRUCTIONS
Introduction
The Model T32730 Outboard Turning Attachment
is designed to fit on the Model G0733/G0766
lathes. The 223⁄4" bed extension can be installed
to support a tool rest and replace a floor-mounted
tool post for outboard turning operations.

Installation
Wear safety glasses during
the entire setup process!
Refer to Outboard Turning in the Model G0733/
G0766 Owner's Manual to remove the tailstock
and position the headstock for outboard turning
operations.
To install outboard turning attachment:
1. Attach bed extension to lathe with (3) M10-
1.5 x 25 cap screws (see Figure 2).

2. Remove hex nut and clamp plate from tool
rest base (see Figure 3).
3. Place tool rest base on bed extension
with clamp bolt inserted through bed (see
Figure 4).

4. Install clamp plate and hex nut removed in
Step 2 on clamp bolt and hand-tighten (see
Figure 5). Clamp plate must be aligned with
extension bed to sit flush.

5. Rotate eccentric rod handle to secure tool
rest base on bed extension (see Figure 4).
Note: If eccentric rod handle does not secure
tool rest base, tighten hex nut from Step 4
until it does.
6. Install either tool rest arm or outboard exten-
sion shaft in tool rest base hole, then secure
with adjustable handle (see Figures 6–7).
— Tool rest arm provides extra adjustment
and reach for larger workpieces.

8. Loosen tool rest lock handle, then remove
tool rest.
9. Install tool rest in outboard extension shaft,
then secure with adjustable handle (see
Figures 9–10).

— If installing tool rest arm, proceed to
Step 7.
— If installing outboard extension shaft, pro-
ceed to Step 8.
7. Install outboard extension shaft in tool rest
arm, then secure with adjustable handle (see
Figure 8).
