Manual Contents
This manual contains the informaon necessary for the correct installaon and operaon
of a Hanskamp AgroTech PipeFeeder.
Study and understand this informaon thoroughly before conguraon of the PipeFeeder.
Failure to do so could result in damage to equipment. Please consult your milking equip-
ment dealer if you do not understand the informaon in this manual, or if you need addi-
onal informaon. All informaon in this manual has been compiled with care. Hanskamp
AgroTech shall not be liable for errors or faults in this manual. The recommendaons are
meant to serve as guidelines. All instrucons, pictures and specicaons in this manual
are based on the latest informaon that was available at the me of publicaon. Your
PipeFeeder may comprise improvements, features or opons that are not covered in this
manual.

1. Introducon
The PipeFeeder High Speed suits all types of milking or feeding carousels and can be lin-
ked to any brand or type of feed computer. The stainless steel pipe holds the stock of
concentrate. As a feed trough of the carousel comes under the PipeFeeder the electric
motor of the dosator gets a signal via the sensor. The PipeFeeder immediately releases
the required feed quanty on me, very rapidly and precisely.
Once the PipeFeeder High Speed receives a signal that all the concentrates have been
released on me it shuts down at once. Any concentrate le in the pipe will fall into the
trough so dairy cow and goat farmers can be assured that with the PipeFeeder High
Speed livestock always get exactly the right amount of concentrates.
The informaon in this manual is for farmers and technicians.
 Dairy farmers use the informaon to test and adjust the PipeFeeder or to list over-
views.
 Technicians use the informaon to install and setup the PipeFeeder.

2. Safety
2.1 Introducon
The safety alert symbol idenes important safety messages on your PipeFeeder and in
the manual. When you see this symbol, be alert to the possibility of personal injury or
death. Follow the instrucon of the safety message.

2.2 Signal Words
Note the use of the signal words DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION with the safety mes-
sages. The signal word for each message uses the following guidelines:
Warning! Indicates a potenally hazardous situaon that, if not avoided, could re-
sult in death or serious injury, and includes hazards that are exposed when guards
are removed.
Danger! Indicates a imminently hazardous situaon that, if not avoided, will re-sult
in death or serious injury.
2.3 Safety Instrucons
YOU are responsible for the SAFE operaon and maintenance of your PipeFeeder. YOU
must make sure that you and anyone else who is going to operate, maintain or work in
the vicinity of the PipeFeeder knows all the related SAFETY informaon in this manual.
YOU are the key to safety. Good safety pracces protect you and the people around you.
Make these pracces a working part of your safety program. Make sure EVERYONE who
operates, maintains or works near the PipeFeeder obeys the safety precauons. Do not
risk injury or death by ignoring good safety pracces.
 PipeFeeder owners must train operators before they operate the PipeFeeder. This
training must be repeated at least annually.
 The operator must read, understand and obey all safety and operang instrucons
in the manual.
 A person who has not read and understood all safety and operanginstrucons is
not permied to operate the PipeFeeder.
 Do not modify the equipment in any way. Unauthorized modicaon may impair
the funcon and/or safety and could aect the life of the equipment, and persons.
 Only use approved spare parts, and make sure they are only installed by authori-
zed technicians.
 The PipeFeeder HighSpeed should be shielded, so that te dosing system is un-
reachable. This separaon should meet European standards and guidelines. Wit-
hout this separaon the PipeFeeder HighSpeed dooesn’t meet the safety require-
ments of Hanskamp AgroTech. If the PipeFeeder doesn’t meet the safety require-
ments, there can not be derrived any rights.

2.3.1 General Safety
 Read and understand the manual and all safety signs before you connect power
supplies to operate, maintain or adjust the PipeFeeder.
 Only trained persons are permied to operate the PipeFeeder. A rst-aid kit must
be available near the PipeFeeder. Store in a highly visible place.
 A carbon dioxide or foam re exnguisher must be available near the PipeFeeder.
Store the re exnguisher in a highly visible place.
 Install all protecve covers and guards before you operate the PipeFeeder.
 Wear the correct protecve clothing and equipment. Disconnect and isolate the
electrical power supply before you clean or do maintenance on the PipeFeeder,
also be sure that the compressed air supply is depressurised.
 Know the emergency medical centre number for your area.
 Contact your nearest milking equipment dealer provider if you have any ques-
ons.
 Review safety related items with all operators frequently (annually).
 The PipeFeeder HighSpeed should be shielded, so that te dosing system is un-
reachable. This separaon should meet European standards and guidelines. Wit-
hout this separaon the PipeFeeder HighSpeed dooesn’t meet the safety require-
ments of Hanskamp AgroTech. If the PipeFeeder doesn’t meet the safety require-
ments, there can not be derrived any rights.
2.3.2 Electrical Safety
 Only an authorized electrician must install the electrical power supply for the
PipeFeeder.
 Make sure the electrical grounding of the electrical system and all parts of the
PipeFeeder meet the local rules and regulaons.
 Replace any damaged electrical lines, conduits, switches and components imme-
diately.
 Isolate the electrical power supply before you open the lid of the PipeFeeder to
work on the electrical system.
2.3.3 Installaon Safety
 Read and understand the instrucons in this manual.
 Make sure the PipeFeeder is correctly installed.

2.3.4 Operang Safety
 Read and understand the applicable manual and all safety signs before you con-
nect power supplies to operate, maintain or adjust the PipeFeeder.
 Only trained persons are permied to operate the PipeFeeder.
 Switch o the electrical power supply by taking plug out of the power point and
secure the plug before you clean or do maintenance on the PipeFeeder. Be sure
that the compressed air supply is depressurised, switch the compressor of by
using the main switch of the compressor, and close the air valve.
 Install the covers, shields and other safety devices before you operate the
PipeFeeder.
 Keep hands, feet, hair and clothing away from all the electrical parts.
 Keep unauthorized persons, especially small children away from the PipeFeeder at
all mes.
 Before the electrical supply is aached to the PipeFeeder, make sure all parts are
ght and that all the parts are in good condion.
 Contact your nearest milking equipment dealer if you have any quesons.
2.3.5 Maintenance Safety
 Read and understand the applicable manual and all safety signs before you con-
nect power supplies to operate, maintain or adjust the PipeFeeder.
 Only trained persons are permied to maintain the PipeFeeder.
 Switch o the electrical power supply by taking plug out of the power point and
secure the plug before you clean or do maintenance on the PipeFeeder.
 Wear protecve clothing and safety goggles when you do work on the pneumac
system.
 Make sure all the covers and guards are installed when maintenance work is com-
plete.

messages are in applicable parts of this manual when potenal hazards may occur
if the instrucons or procedures are not followed.

General descripon:
Hanskamp AgroTech’s PipeFeeder is an electric feed dosing system developed for feeding
concentrates in pellet form (Pic. 1) PipeFeeder is designed for the supply of concentrate,
either linked to the feed computer and used for milking stall feeding. Please read the
whole installaon instrucons and keep the safety instrucons in mind.
If the PipeFeeder is controlled by an MotorController from Hanskamp AgroTech, see also
installaon instrucons Art. No. 1841. This can be requested from the manufacturer. If
the PipeFeeder is not controlled by the MotorController, always consult the manual for
the relevant control unit. See the annex for the order numbers and names of the various
parts.
Transport and storage:
The PipeFeeder will be shipped in a box containing two PipeFeeders. Depending on the
number of PipeFeeders HighSpeed, the items will be send on a pallet. This pallet is com-
pletely sealed and the corners are covered with tape to prevent damage. The PipeFeed-
er is also stored this way.
Please note! Always use an appropriate vehicle (forkli truck, pallet fork,
pump truck, etc.) to move the pallet.
Please note! Parts may fall o the pallet/box when it is being unpacked.

Safety sckers:
The user and installer are responsible for the safe operaon and maintenance of the Pipe-
Feeder. Safety sckers are used to ensure safety in and around the PipeFeeder. These
sckers must be placed correctly. Informaon about which sckers should be aached
where can be found further on in these instrucons for installaon and use (for example
Fig. 10).
Applying the sckers:
 Make sure the surface is dry and clean.
 Make sure the surface temperature is at least 5°C.
 Find the right posion for the scker.
 Remove a small poron of the foil on the back.
 Place the scker on the surface and press a small poron of the self-adhesive
layer onto the surface.
 Carefully remove the foil and press down the rest of the scker.
 Remove any air bubbles with a needle and use the foil to smoothen the scker.
Maintenance of the sckers:
 Keep the safety sckers clean and legible. Clean the safety sckers with soap and
water. Do not use any solvents or abrasives that could damage the safety sckers.
 Replace missing or illegible safety sckers.
Safety sckers are available by Hanskamp AgroTech. Always use the arcle numbers in
your correspondence.

Installaon:
1. The PipeFeeder is designed to be mounted on a wall. First of all ascertain where the
PipeFeeder needs to hang and at what height. To do this, use the mounng holes in
the assembly brackets provided for this purpose (item no. 1902).
2. Grease, before assembly, the bolts and nuts with sucient copper grease.
3. If the distance between the feeder and the dosing unit is too great we advise you to
use a fall pipe ed directly underneath the dosing unit. The PipeFeeder is designed
to hang directly above the feed trough so that the fall height remains low so noise
and dust are reduced. Also the PipeFeeder HighSpeed can be mounted, above a hop-
per. Sample installaons can be found at www.hanskampagrotech.nl/en
Please note! No mounng material is supplied to mount the PipeFeeder to the
wall.
Please note! Always allow ±10 ll 15cm of space under the PipeFeeder.
This way air can run underneath the PipeFeeder.
4. Use a well-shielded electricity cable to connect the dosing unit.
See the annex on page 15 for the connecon diagram for the motor (24VDC,
120 rpm). The motor turns counterclockwise as standard.
Please note! When assembling always rst switch o the
electricity to the control unit.
Please note! Make sure that there is always a plug or lockable switch
placed between the Pipe Feeder and the energy supply
so that power can be disconnected.
5. Using the supplied membrane grommet (item no. 1947), t the cable through the lid
of the PipeFeeder. To do this, drill a hole (Ø 16 mm) at the desired posion in the lid.
Then connect the other end of the cable to the desired output of the control unit.
6. Make a solid and closed connecon with the supply auger. The top connecon of the
PipeFeeder is Ø125mm. This ts a slide coupling socket of PVC or PP exactly across.
Make sure to not allow water, moist or dirt in the stock of the PipeFeeder.
Please note! An insucient seal with the supply auger can cause problems when
operang the PipeFeeder.

Please note! Make sure to rst switch o the electric
power to the control unit before the next step.
 Remove the lid from the PipeFeeder. Remove the motor plate by unscrewing 4
bolts.
 Remove the motor with motor plate and connector from the sha.
 Turn the star on top of the drive sha.
 Make sure that the arrow on the star is level with the recess on top of the stain-
less steel pipe.
 Push the motor with motor plate and connector back onto the drive axis.
Mount these by screwing the 4 bolts ght again.
 Fit the lid back onto the PipeFeeder.
 Switch the electronic power back on.
 Fill the PipeFeeder and allow to rotate once for control (give signal).
This adjustment (pic. 3) should ensure that the exit opening is closed. This will make sure
that a cow is not rewarded for banging against the feeding staon (an-spill principle).
This adjustment should be applied in both the milking stall feeding installaon, in par-
lour, and in the feeding box, out of parlour.
7. When installaon is not completely correct the plasc part will be able to rotate
freely with respect to the stainless steel tube. When the plasc part is rotated in
case of the DC version the adjusng procedure (step 6) should be followed again. In
addion it must be ensured that aer mounng or twisng of the plasc part, the
motor is correctly placed onto the axis
Important!
 Make sure that all the wires are neatly concealed out of reach of
animals. Otherwise hazardous situaons can emerge.
 Before you run the PipeFeeder, always t the lid which covers the
motor carefully. Otherwise hazardous situaons can emerge
(pic. 4).
8. The PipeFeeder has fully electrical operaon. The motor drives the axis that turns a
scoop mechanism at the boom of the stainless steel pipe (Ø129 x 2mm). This
mechanism delivers the feed. If a switch is used to control several dosing units at the
same me, or on the MotorController, then several PipeFeeder dosing units can be
connected to a single feeding line. Please note the maximum permissible current,
which is stated on the power supply (art.nr. 2812 or 2813 PowerUnit), won’t be ex-
ceeded.

9. The PipeFeeder is calibrated by allowing the feeding computer to emit a pulse ten
mes. You then weigh the issued feed, divide this by 10 and enter this value into
the feeding computer. Repeat this procedure every month and also aer changing
the feed type.
End assembly
1. Aer the assembly the PipeFeeder HighSpeed has to be covered by shields. Because
all the dierent situaons, the Installer has to take care of this.
2. When the covers aren’t installed, the machine isn’t safe and doesn’t meet the issued
declaraon of conformity.
3. The mounted protecon shields must sasfy the European standards and guidelines
set.
Important!
 The PipeFeeder is only intended for cylindrical concentrate with a
diameter of Ø4 to Ø6 mm. The manufacturer cannot guarantee prop-
er funconing for other shapes or dimensions.
 During the installaon of the PipeFeeder ensure the pressure of the
concentrate on the dosing unit is greater than 50kg.
 Never insert your hand into the boom of the PipeFeeder when it is
sll in operaon or is connected to the electrical power supply (pic.
4).The size of the exit point is limited by a bar to prevent cuts.
 The PipeFeeder HighSpeed should be shielded, so that te dosing sys-
tem is unreachable. This separaon should meet European standards
and guidelines. Without this separaon the PipeFeeder HighSpeed
doesn’t meet the safety requirements of Hanskamp AgroTech. If the
PipeFeeder doesn’t meet the safety requirements, there can not be
derrived any rights.
Maintenance
1. Check the PipeFeeder installaon daily for faults and wear. Do this by means of a
control test on the feed motors. Make sure that the vibraons and noise caused by
the PipeFeeder are reduced as much as possible
2. If the PipeFeeder needs maintenance and is connected to the controls ensure that
the PipeFeeder cannot start unexpectedly. Make sure there is no voltage on the
installaon! To do this plug the power supply o at the control unit of the dosing
motor.
3. It is recommended to have repairs and maintenance carried out by a specialist.
4. To avoid electric shocks or geng trapped in the feed auger never open the hous
ing and don’t remove the shields when the PipeFeeder is sll running.
5. For the safety of all concerned the user/owner of the PipeFeeder should follow the
advice and direcons given in the installaon instrucons. If it is not possible to
follow this it is the responsibility of the user and the manufacturer cannot be held
responsible/liable for any injury or damage to or by the product.
Please note! In case of maintenance make sure to always rst switch o the electricity
of the installaon.

Cleaning
Clean the PipeFeeder regularly with a moist cloth. Do not spray water under the hood or
in the stock pipe. To guarantee the equipment funcons correctly make sure the exit
point is clean and stays clean.
Please note! Do not spray with high pressure in or on the PipeFeeder. This can cause
blockage.
Disassembly
In case of disassembly all parts must be separated by material type for processing through
a suitable waste management system.
Please note! In case of disassembly always switch o the electrical voltage of the in-
stallaon.
Warranty limitaons
The warranty excludes costs and expenses due to:
 incorrect use of the equipment, not in accordance with the specicaons in the
instrucons for installaon and use;
 the consequences of any intervenons by engineers other than engineers recog-
nised and approved by Hanskamp AgroTech for carrying out service, maintenance
and other technical work;
 incidents such as freezing, ice, re, ooding, inundaon or any other form of ex-
treme water damage, and lightening;
 defects in the electrical system or earthing system;
 damage to the electrical system caused by vermin and so forth.
The warranty is not applicable to consequenal damage that is not related to the feed
staon itself. All systems have been tested. However, in the event of faults, Hanskamp
AgroTech cannot be held responsible for consequenal damage.

4. FAQ
