SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install
the product. If you have any questions regarding the product, please call customer service at
1-888-567-2055, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., EST, Monday - Friday.
• Before you begin installing the fan, disconnect the power by removing fuses or turning off circuit
breakers.
• Make sure that all electrical connections comply with local codes, ordinances, or the National
Electrical code. Hire a qualified electrician or consult a do-it-yourself wiring hand-book if you are
unfamiliar with installing electrical wiring.
•Make sure the installation site you choose allows a minimum clearance of 7 ft. from the blades
to the floor and at least 30 in. from the ends of the blades to any obstruction.
•If you are mounting the fan to a ceiling outlet box, use a METAL octagonal outlet box.
Secure the box directly to the building structure. The outlet box and its support must be able to
support the moving weight of the fan (at least 35 lbs.) Do NOT use a plastic outlet box.
• After you install the fan, make sure that all connections are secure to prevent the fan from falling.
• Instructions for supply connections: conductor of a fan identified as grounded conductor to be
connected to a grounded conductor of power supply; conductor of a fan identified for equipment
grounding to be connected to an equipment-grounding conductor.
Do not install or use fan if any part is damaged or missing.
WARNING
Read all instructions and safety information before installing your new fan.
Review accompanying assembly diagrams.
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or personal injury, wire connectors provided
with this fan are designed to accept only one 12 gauge house wire and two lead wires
from the fan. If your house wire is larger than 12 gauge or there is more than one house
wire to connect to the two fan lead wires, consult an electrician for the proper size wire
connectors to use.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, do not bend the blade arms
when installing them, balancing the blades, or cleaning the fan. Do not insert foreign
objects between the rotating fan blades. Mount to outlet box marked “ACCEPTABLE
FOR FAN SUPPORT” and use mounting screws provided with the outlet box. Most outlet
boxes commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures are not acceptable for fan sup-
port and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove the hanger ball portion from the
downrod/hanger ball assembly (D) by loosen-
ing the set screw in the hanger ball until the
ball falls freely down the downrod. Remove the
pin from the downrod, then remove the hanger
ball. Retain the pin and hanger ball for
reinstallation in Step 4. (Fig. 1)

2. Slightly loosen the two center support
housing screws on motor arm assembly (A)
with T-handle wrench (J) as shown. (Fig. 2)

4. Route wires and support cable through canopy
screw cover (F) and canopy (E) and position
them on the downrod. (Fig. 4)

3. Route the black, white and blue wires through
the downrod. Push the downrod into top of
center support housing of the motor arm
assembly (A) until the downrod makes contact
with the stop feature. Align holes in downrod
with holes in support housing. Using the
T-handle wrench (J), secure downrod to fan
assembly with socket head cap screw (FF)
and nylon lock nut (DD). NOTE: MAKE SURE
SCREW PASSES THROUGH HOLES IN
DOWNROD BY PULLING UP ON THE
DOWNROD PRIOR TO FULLY TIGHTENING
THE CAP SCREW. Fully tighten all three
screws preassembled on the support housing
of the motor arm assembly (A). (Fig. 3)

WARNING

fuse box before hanging.
NOTE: If you are not sure if the outlet box is
grounded, contact a licensed electrician for
advice, as it must be grounded for safe operaion.
5. Reinstall the hanger ball on the downrod as
follows. Route the three 54 in. wires through
the hanger ball. Position the pin through
the two holes in the downrod and align the
hanger ball so the pin is captured in the
groove in the top of the hanger ball. Pull the
hanger ball up tight against the pin. Securely
tighten the set screw in the hanger ball.

CAUTION
A loose set screw could result in a wobbly
fan.

6. Cut off excess lead wire approximately 6 to 9
in. above top of the top of the downrod. Strip
insulation off 1/2 in. from the end of each lead
wire. (Fig. 6)

2. To begin mounting the hanger bracket (C), drill
a 1/4 in. pilot hole through the center of the
junction box, into the ceiling joist or structural
member, independent of the junction box.
Loosely attach the hanger bracket (C) to the
ceiling structure using the long lag bolt (HH)
and flat washer (EE). Do not fully tighten the
long lag bolt (HH) yet. Hanger bracket (C)
should be free to rotate. (Fig. 2)

1. To attach ceiling support cable (JJ), drill a
1/4 in. pilot hole, located independently from
the junction box (not included), into the ceiling
joist or structural member. Securely attach the
ceiling support cable (JJ) with the short lag
bolt (GG) and steel washer (EE). (Fig. 1)

Failure to follow these hanger bracket
installation procedures may result in
damage to hanger bracket.
NOTE: Ceiling support cable must be fastened in
the ceiling joists with 2 in. lag bolt.

NOTE: No lubrication to be used on screw. Pilot
hole for lag screw to be no larger than 1/4 in
diameter. Screw must have at least 1-1/2 in of
thread engagement into structure joist.

HANGING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Hang fan assembly into hanger bracket (C),
making sure groove in hanger ball (D) mates
with tab on hanger bracket (C). Carefully rotate
the fan assembly and hanger bracket (C)
together to orient the fan in the desired
position. (Fig. 1)
2. Once desired position is determined, remove
fan assembly from the hanger bracket (C)
WITHOUT rotating hanger bracket (C). Fully
tighten long lag bolt (HH) in center of hanger
bracket (C) without rotating the hanger bracket
(C). (Fig. 2)
3. Place fan assembly back into hanger bracket
(C) making sure groove in downrod/hanger
ball assembly (D) mates with pin on hanger
bracket (C). Attach the safety cable from fan to
ceiling support cable (JJ). Slide cable clamp
onto safety cable. Place the end of cable
through the loop of ceiling support cable (JJ).
Pull as much cable through loop as possible.
Feed end of cable into clamp hole and firmly
tighten screw. Cut off excess safety cable.

WARNING
Check to see that all connections are
tight, including ground, and that no bare
wire is visible at the wire connectors
except for the ground wire. Do not
operate fan until the blades are in place.
Noise and motor damage could result.
2. After connections have been made, turn leads
upward and carefully push leads into the outlet
box, with the white and green leads to one side
of the box and the black and blue leads toward
the other side. The wires should be spread
apart with the grounded conductor and the
equipment-grounding conductor on one side of
the outlet box and the ungrounded conductor
on the other side of the outlet box. (Fig. 2)

1. Connect the green grounding lead from the
downrod/hanger ball assembly (D) and the green
grounding lead from the hanger bracket (C) to the
supply grounding conductor (this may be a bare
wire or wire with green colored insulation).
Securely connect wires with wire connectors
(II). Securely connect the white fan motor wire
to the white supply (neutral) wire using wire
connector (II). Securely connect the black
fan motor wire and blue wire to the black supply

WARNING
To avoid possible fire or shock, make
sure that the electrical wires are
completely inside the canopy housing
and not pinched between the housing
and the ceiling.
1. Remove one of the two shoulder screws in the
hanger bracket (C). Loosen the second
shoulder screw without fully removing it.
Assemble canopy (E) by rotating key slot in
canopy (E) over shoulder screw in hanger
bracket (C). Tighten shoulder screw. Fully
assemble and tighten second shoulder screw
that was previously removed. (Fig. 1)

CANOPY HOUSING INSTALLATION
2. Securely attach and tighten the canopy
screw cover (F) over the shoulder screws in
the hanger bracket (C), utilizing the keyslot
twist-lock feature. (Fig. 2)

CAUTION
Do not connect fan blades until the fan is
completely installed. Installing the fan with
blades assembled may result in damage to
the fan blades.
BLADE INSTALLATION

1. Remove and discard the five rubber motor
stops from each motor by removing the
screws. (Fig. 1) 1

WARNING

2. Position the blade (H) over the blade holder
(G) with threaded posts showing. Make sure
the bottom edge of the blade (H) is fully seated
against the blade arm. With a Phillips
screwdriver, tighten washer-head screws (BB)
with fiber washers (CC) to secure the blade to
the blade arm. (Fig. 2)
3. Attach blade holders (G) to the motor hub
using thescrews (AA). (Fig. 3)

1. Disassemble the housing switch cup assembly
(B) by removing three preassembled screws.

2. Remove one of the three screws in the support
bracket. Slightly loosen the remaining two
screws. Assemble the switch cup assembly (B)
to the housing support bracket on motor arm
assembly (A) using the two key slots in the
switch cup assembly (B). Replace the third
screw and securely tighten all three screws.

3. Securely attach the 9-pin switch cup connector
to the wiring harness socket within the
switch cup assembly (B). (Fig. 3)
4. Install the housing switch cup cover onto the
housing switch cup (B) with the three screws
removed in step 1 above. (Fig. 4) 4

WALL CONTROL WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: If you are not sure if the outlet box is
grounded, contact a licensed electrician for
advice, as it must be grounded for safe
operation.
WARNING
To avoid possible electrical shock, be
sureelectricity is turned off at the main
fuse box before hanging.
1. With electrical power still disconnected,
remove the existing wall plate and switch.
Using wire nut supplied with 3-speed wall
control (I), connect black wire from 3-speed
wall control (I) to black house supply (hot).
Connect other black wire from 3-speed wall
control (I) to black wire leading to outlet box.
Lastly, connect green wire from 3-speed wall
control (I) to ground wire leading to ceiling
outlet box. (Fig. 1)
2. Attach 3-speed wall control (I) to outlet box
(not included) using the two screws provided
with the 3-speed wall control (I). Attach wall
plate to the switch control front using the two
small screws provided with the 3-speed wall
control (I). (Fig. 2)

WALL CONTROL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Restore electrical power to the outlet box by
turning the electricity on at the main fuse box.
(Fig. 1)
2. Check the operation of the fan by sliding the
3-speed wall control (I) to one of the numbered
settings. (Fig. 2)
3. If airflow is desired in the opposite direction, turn
the fan off and wait for the blades to stop
turning. Then slide the reverse switch on each
switch cup assembly (B) to the opposite
position and turn fan on again. (Fig. 3)

WARNING
The balancing clip must always be firmly
pushed onto the blade till it touches the
edge of the blade. Failure to do so could
allow clip to fly off and cause personal
injury.
BLADE BALANCING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Interchanging positions of adjacent blades (H)
can redistribute the weight and result in a
smoother operation. If wobble decreases,
leave blades (H) as they are. If wobble
increases, switch back to original position.
Attach the balancing clip in the balance kit
(LL) to the mid-point on the top edge of one
blade (H). (Fig. 1)
2. Run the fan at high speed (air downflow) and
observe wobble. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for
each blade (H). Note which blade (H) has the
least wobble. On that blade (H), install the
balancing clip in the balance kit (LL) to the top
edge of the blade (H) near the blade holder
arm of the motor assembly (A). (Fig. 2)
Start the fan and notice wobble. Stop the fan
and move the balancing clip in the balance kit
(LL) in small steps toward the end of the
blade (H). At each incremental step, turn on
the fan and observe the wobble. Determine
the location of the balancing clip in the
balance kit (LL) that gives the least amount
of wobble.
3. Peel the backing paper from one of the
weighted squares in the balance kit (LL).
Secure the weighted square in the balance kit
(LL) firmly to the top of the blade (H), centered
at the balancing clip in the balance kit (LL)
location and centered between the edges of
the blade (H). (Fig. 3)
Remove the balancing clip in the balance kit
(LL), start the fan and observe. If the wobble
still persists, repeat steps 1 through 3
until the wobble disappears.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Do not use water when cleaning your ceiling fan. It could damage the motor or the finish
and create the possibility of electrical shock.
WARNING
•When cleaning, use only a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the finish.
•Abrasive cleaning agents are not required and should be avoided to prevent damage to finish.
RECOMMENDED: Periodically check that the fan motor unit screws, blade screws, support
housing and light kit screws are tight and secure.
•Periodic light dusting of the blades is recommended. A feather duster will work best.
•Avoid using water, cleansers, or harsh rag, which can warp and ruin the finish.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE

incorrectly, loosen the screws and retighten.
5. Check to see that the hanger bracket is
secured to a structural member with the 5 in.
lag bolt. The hanger bracket must be
securely anchored and should not have
any movement.
6. Interchanging an adjacent blade pair
can redistribute the weight and result in a
smoother operation. A heavy blade can
also be identified by turning off the fan
and seeing if one blade on one or both
sides quickly drops to the down position.
Trade out this blade with an adjacent
blade.
