Guidelines for Installation and Use
1. Humidity
Do not install this product in a building that leaks rainand with high humidity.
Ifwater leaks into DVR, itcould causea failure or become a fire hazard.
2. TroubleRepair
Do not disassemble or rebuild this product on your own to avoid electric shock.
Ifthere is a trouble with DVR, contact the store where you purchased the product
instead oftrying to repairit yourself.
3. Power Supply
Do not use a power supplyother than specified (AC110V or AC220V option). There
is a danger ofelectric shockor other hazard.
4. InstallationEnvironment
The HNDR is designed for interior use, to be installed in a PC slot. Accordingly,
do not install the HNDR in a place with extreme temperatures.
(Recommended temperature: -10 ~ 45 )
5. Sun light, etc.
This product should not be directlyexposed to sun light or other strong rays oflight,
for fear ofdamage to the product.
6. Impact or Vibration
Be careful not to drop HNDR or cause it to be affected bystrong impact or vibration.
7. Installationin An UnstablePlace
Makesure thatthe HNDR is not installed in an unstable place, shelfor table.
It can injure users or other people, or damage the product.
8. InCase HNDR Does Not OperateProperly
In case an abnormal movement is detected during operation (I.e., unusual noise,
smell, or smoke), stop the operation immediately, cut off the power supply, and contact
the storewhere you purchased the product.
9. Cleaning
When cleaning the HNDR , be sure to turn offthepower to the PC and clean it with a drycloth.
When the soiled area is not washed cleanly, use a cleaner forfurniture.
10. For A/S
For anyofthe following conditions, cut offthepower supplyofHNDR and request
for repair fromthe store where you purchased the product.
A. The connector in the power supplyis damaged.
B. Rain or water leaked into the HNDR .
C. Liquid is spilt on or a foreign material got into the HNDR.
D. The HNDR does not operate as described in the User Manual.
For adjustment ofthe HNDR , followthe instructions as described in the Manual.
(In case it is manipulated in ways other than specified in the Manual, it could
cause more severe damage to the board.)
E. The HNDR fell to the ground and was damaged severely.
F. There is a noticeablechange in performance.

DVR (DigitalVideo Recorder) refers to aproductthatadoptsadigital recording methodinsteadofthe
existing analogue tape method. DVR digitalizes all image data forstorage and playback.
Analogue tape method is not an easywayto retrieve recorded data during searchofimage data. But the
HNDR systemprovides youwith accurate and easysearching method for the desired date andtime.
While the existing CCTV has a recording/playbackimage qualitypoorer than surveillance monitor, the
HNDR systemprovides a recording/playbackimage qualityequivalent to that ofthe surveillance monitor.
With improvements to meetthe need ofan integrated equipment for systemintegration, the HNDR system
has integrated common QUAD, VCR, SWITCHER, and MUX functions.
Keeping recorded data has been a tough task. But the HNDR system makes it possible to keepdata with
various volumes semi-permanentlybyrecording themon up-to-date backup devices (DAT, CD, DVD, etc.).
The HNDR systemallowsyou to control securitydevices in connection with sensors, and operate control
devices automatically/manuallywith ease.
In addition, remote access to DVR allowsyou to bring or control data remotely. (HNDR-Net)
When the HNDR systemhas amodemor LAN installed, the HNDR-Net allowsyou to remotelyaccess to
the HNDR systemto check on its state, retrieve data fromtheHNDR data or move themontothe HNDR-
Net, and set HNDR preferences andmanage schedules.
HNDR is a next generation Digital Video SecuritySystem,providing stability, easysearch and storage, and
increased multi-functionality.

1) Featuresof HNDR
1~16 Video Inputs
Up to 16 videos are available for input.
1~16 Sensor Inputs / 1~4 RelayOutputs
Up to 16 input sensors are available for connection.
Relayoutputs allowyou to operate the HNDR connected with sirens, shutters, and doors when
something moves or sensors go off.
Voice storage and bi-directional communication support
Can store both voice and video data. Bi-directional voice communication is available when a
networkconnection is established with the HNDR-Net. (1 channel ( 4 channel option) )
Multi-screen support
You can view1, 4, 6, 9, 10, or 16 videos on onescreen.
PAN/TILT/ZOOM/FOCUS Operation support
The HNDR can control an equipment, ifinstalled, that adjusts a camera upward/downward/to the
left/to the right within the program.
In addition to the basic functions above, various functions such as Auto Scan, Preset, Tour, etc.
maybe provided byour Scan Dome (HSD-251).
System Auto RecoveryFunction (Watch-Dog)
When a problemoccurs in the system, the HNDR detects the problem, and reboots the system,
restoring it to the normal operational condition.
Recording with Motion and Sensor Detection
Acamera can record images onlywhen it detects anymotion. It can also record images when it
detects sensors. (Data monitoring and storage are made easywithout storing unnecessaryimages.)
Diverse Methods for Image Compression/Transmission
Available choices for compressing and transmitting images are MJPEG and MPEG methods.
Simple Video Authentication
Allowsyou to easilycreate aseparate authentication program(Auth Tool) and video file for
presentation so that therecorded images ofthe HNDR have legal effects.
Convenient Video Playback
Allowsyou to playbacktherecorded HNDR images using aseparateViewer Program(including the
HNDR), or replaythemwithacommon media player bysaving them asacommon video file (AVI
format).
Accurate Motion Detection Setting
Allowsyou to set the stateof detecting accurate motion ofimages on Setup. You can easilyset the
range ofdetecting subtle motion bydot.
Check HNDR-Net Access
Allowsyouto easilyidentifyusers ofthe HNDR-Net and the HNDR-Webwhoare logged in the
HNDR system.
Notification of Emergency
Can send an e-mail automaticallywhen HNDR events (sensor, motion) occur.

Scheduled Recording
Allowsyou to select a desired weekdayand timefor recording using schedules. (Recording is
available for the same timezone or weekdayonly.)
Data Backup and Automatic Backup
Allowsyou to backupdatain differentdevices (DAT,CD, DVD, etc.), and bydesired camera, date,
and time. Automatic backupis also available using recording schedule.
Digitalized Image Search Support
Allowsyou to easilyretrieve saved images bycamera (or simultaneously)and bydesired date and
time. You can also save and print, and correct and enlarge an image.
Network Support (Modem, TCP/IP Protocol)
Networksupport allowsyou to remotelyaccess the HNDRto retrieve orbackupimage data. You
can set up preferences on the HNDR as well.

HNDR-Net: Supports Multi-Net that allowsyou to access multiple HNDRsites. Enables
monitoring, retrieval, and setting up preferences oftheHNDR system.

Select the “PTZ"button with the mouse todisplay “PTZControl" buttons, with which you can move
cameras equipped with Pan/Tilt device to upward, downward, to the left, to the right, or diagonally.
Zoom/Focus adjustments are also available.
Selecting camera directions using the direction switch button is available.
It can be usedto control our Scan Dome(HSD-251, HSDN-251), Zoom(GC-655/755) Camera, and
RX (HRX-1000, HRX-2000).

Select the search button with the mouse torun "DVR Search" (without exitingthe main
program) and open a search window,where you can retrieve desired image/voice data.

Select the setup button withthe mouse to run “DVR Setup" and openasearch window,where
you can change HNDR settings.

Select the exit buttonwiththe mousetodisplayapassword verification windowto verifyshell-
monitoring the HNDR.When password authentication is verified, the HNDRsystemis terminated
with a buzzer sounding for about 1 minute, and the systemis re-booted.
Please note that exiting will be not generated continuouslyunless Hot key”is selected on
shell monitoring.
