YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical appliances may expose people to

death. The use of electrical products may create
hazards that include, but are not limited to,

damage. These instructions are intended to
provide you with the information you need to
use the product and to avoid such hazards.
When using electrical appliances, basic
precautions should always be followed to
reduce risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to
persons including the following:
1. Warning – Read all instructions before using
this heater.
2. Warning – This heater is hot when in use.
To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch
hot surfaces. If, provided, use handles
when moving this heater. Keep combustible
materials, such as furniture, pillows,
bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at
least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the
heater and keep them away from the sides
and rear.
3. Warning – Extreme caution is necessary
when any heater is used by or near children
or invalids, and whenever the heater is left
operating and unattended.
4. Warning – Always unplug heater when not
in use.
5. Warning – Do not operate any heater with
a damaged cord or plug or after the heater
malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged
in any manner. Discard heater or return
heater to authorized service facility for
examination and/or repair.
6. Warning – For residential use only.
7. Warning – Do not use outdoors.
8. Warning – This heater is not intended for
use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar
indoor locations. Never locate heater where
it may fall into a bathtub or other water
container.
9. Warning – Do not run cord under carpeting.
Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners,
or similar coverings. Do not route cord
under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord
away from traffic area and where it will not
be tripped over.

MOVING THE HEATERSET-UP
10. CAUTION – THIS APPLIANCE HAS A
POLARIZED PLUG (ONE BLADE IS WIDER
THAN THE OTHER). TO REDUCE THE RISK
OF SHOCK, THIS PLUG IS INTENDED TO
FIT ONLY ONE WAY IN A POLARIZED
OUTLET. IF THE PLUG DOES NOT FIT
SECURELY IN THE OUTLET, REVERSE
THE PLUG. IF IT STILL DOES NOT FIT,
CONTACT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN. DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO DEFEAT THIS SAFETY
FEATURE.
11. Warning – This heater draws 12.5 amps
during operation. To prevent overloading a
circuit, do not plug the heater into a circuit
that already has other appliances working.
12. Warning – It is normal for the plug to feel
warm to the touch; however, a loose fit
between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug
may cause overheating and distortion of
the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to
replace loose or worn outlet.
13. Warning – To disconnect the heater, first
turn off the product, then grip the plug body
and pull it from the wall outlet. Never pull by
the cord.
14. Warning – Do not insert or allow foreign
objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust
opening as this may cause an electric shock
or fire, or damage the heater.
15. Warning – To prevent a possible fire, do not
block air intakes or exhaust in any manner.
Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, or
where openings may become blocked.
16. Warning – A heater has hot and arcing or
sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas
where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids
are used or stored.
17. Warning – Use this heater only as
described in this manual. Any other use
not recommended by the manufacturer
may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to
persons.
18. Warning – Always plug heater directly into
a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an
extension cord or relocatable power tap
(outlet/power strip).
19. Warning – Never tamper with this product
or attempt to fix it. Any tampering with, or
modification of this product can result in
serious injury, death, or fire. Risk of electric
shock. Do not open. No user serviceable
parts inside.
20. Warning – Do not remove product labels
that contain warnings or safety instruction.
21. Caution – The output of this heater may vary
and its temperature may become intense
enough to burn exposed skin. Use of this
heater is not recommended for persons with
reduced sensitivity to heat or an inability to
react to avoid burns.
22. Caution – Before cleaning, or storage, or
when not in use, turn the product’s controls
to the OFF position and unplug the heater
from the electrical outlet and allow to cool.
23. Caution – Place the heater on a firm, level,
open surface free from obstructions and
at least 3 feet (0.9 m) away from any
combustible materials. DO NOT use on an
unstable surface such as bedding or deep
carpeting. Be sure the heater is not in a
position where it may be tripped over by
small children or pets. The heater’s rubber
feet will hold it firmly in position.
24. Caution – If your home has aluminum
wiring have a licensed electrician check
your receptacle’s connections. When
using a 1500 watt heater, aluminum wire
connections can cause a safety issue.
25. SAVE THESE
INSTRUCTIONS
Place the heater on a rm, level, open surface free from
obstructions and at least 3 feet (0.9 m) away from any wall
or combustible material.
DO NOT use on an unstable surface such as bedding or
deep carpeting.
BE SURETHE HEATER IS NOT IN A POSITIONWHERE IT MAY
BETRIPPED OVER BY CHILDREN OR PETS.
Turn o the heater.
Allow it to cool for ten minutes.
Unplug heater and move. This heater is equipped with a
convenient carrying handle for your convenience.

OPERATION
EnergySmart® CoolTouch Heaters require no assembly. Never
leave an operating unit unattended.
Plug the heater into an electrical wall outlet.
Models HZ-7200 & HZ-8000 Series – EnergySmart®
Cool Touch Heater Operation
Turn the heater on by pressing the Power Button ( ).The
Power Indicator Light will illuminate. Fig. 1
To save up to 35% in energy bills, turn the Power Knob to
your DesiredTemperature. There are four (4) comfort settings
of 65°F (18°C), 70°F (21°C), 75°F (24°C) and 80°F (27°C).
The EnergySmart® thermostat will automatically select the
appropriate power level to best accommodate your Desired
Temperature. As the air temperature (CurrentTemperature)
in the room approaches the DesiredTemperature, the heater
will automatically lower the power consumption and provide
consistent warmth without wasting energy.
Illuminated LED lights will indicate the Current Room Temperature.
NOTE:The LOW setting is designed to operate only if the
temperature is below 55°F (12°C). If the room temperature is
above 55°F (12°C), the heater will remain OFF until the
temperature drops below this level. If you want the heater to
operate when the room temperature is above 55°F (12°C),
move the Power Knob to a higher setting.
To override the EnergySmart® feature and produce maximum
heat, turn the Power Knob clockwise to HIGH. The will run the
heater at constant 1500 watts.
To turn on the oscillation feature, press the ( ) button once. To turn it o, press the ( ) button once more. Please note, the
oscillation function will stop when the Energy Smart™ mode has reached the desired temperature and the heater is no longer
blowing warm air. It will start back up when the heater starts blowing warm air again.
Press the Power Button ( ) and unplug the heater when you are nished using it and the Power Indicator Light will go out.
Turn heater on by pressing Power Button ()button.
The heater will default to the Constant HI mode and the
CurrentTemp Indicator will display the current room
temperature. Fig 2.
The Energy Usage Indicator will display the power
consumption used by the heater.

TROUBLESHOOTING
This EnergySmart® Cool Touch Heater is equipped with several devices and features for added protection:
- This heater was crafted using a high quality safety plastic which allows for the“CoolTouch”exterior. If the heater grille is
touched briey, it will not cause a burn. For safe operation, do not continuously hold bare skin against the grille..
• Tipoverprotection–atip-overswitchthatdisablestheheaterifitisaccidentallytippedover.
• Ahightemperaturesafetycontrolpreventsoverheating.
• Thermalcut-ofusethatwillpermanentlyshutdowntheheatershoulditoperateatahigherthannormaltemperature.
It is recommended that the heater be cleaned at least once a month and before o-season storage. Save the carton for o-season storage.
• TurntheheaterOFF( ) and unplug it. Allow it to cool.
• Useadryclothtocleanonlytheexternalsurfacesoftheheater.DONOTUSEWATER,WAX,POLISHORANYCHEMICALSOLUTION.
• Beforestoring,cleantheEnergySmart®CoolTouchHeaterusingtheabove-mentionedsteps.Wrapthecordarounditscordwrap
underneath the heater base. Pack the heater in its original carton and store it in a cool, dry place.
If your heater shuts o unexpectedly or fails to operate, one of your heater safety features may have been activated to prevent overheating.
• Besureitispluggedinandthattheelectricaloutletisworking.
• CheckyourEnergySmart®Thermostatsetting.Theunitmaysimplybeobecauseyouhavereachedyourdesiredheatsetting.
• Checkforanyobstructions.Ifyoundanobstruction,turntheheaterOFFandunplugit.Allowtheheatertocoolcompletely,
then remove the obstruction. Wait at least 10 minutes, then re-plug the heater in and follow the OPERATION instructions.

The CurrentTemp Indicator will display the current room
temperature.
In the EnergySmart® mode, the Energy Usage Indicator will display
what power consumption the heater has automatically selected to
eciently meet your DesiredTemperature.
To override the EnergySmart® function, turn the heater OFF ()or
press SET to choose a Constant Heat mode.
EnergySmart™ Mode - A smart thermostat that helps you
save energy. Press SET to choose four (4) comfort settings of
65°F (18°C), 70°F (21°C), 75°F (24°C), 80°F (27°C). This is
NOTE: Because the Low setting does not require as much electricity
to operate, it is more energy ecient and may be a better option if
you are concerned about saving energy.
To set the heater, the digital control is equipped with two
(2) modes: (See Fig. 2)
Constant Heat Mode - Choose from two (2) heat settings:
1. Constant Low, press SET to LO ( ); this setting uses 900 watts
of power
2. Constant High, press SET to HI ( ); this setting uses 1500 watts
of power
your desired room temperature.The EnergySmart® thermostat
will automatically select the appropriate power level to best
accommodate your DesiredTemperature. As the air temperature
(CurrentTemp) in the room approaches the DesiredTemperature,
the heater will automatically lower the power consumption to
provide consistent warmth without wasting energy.

A. This 3 year limited warranty applies to repair or
replacement of product found to be defective in
material or workmanship. This warranty does not
apply to damage resulting from commercial, abusive,

11. Avertissement – Le fonctionnement de ce
radiateur prélève 12,5 ampères. Afin de ne
pas surcharger le circuit, ne le branchez pas
sur un circuit qui alimente d’autres appareils.

22. Attention – ÉTEIGNEZ le radiateur,
débranchez-le et laissez-le refroidir avant de
le nettoyer ou ranger et entre utilisations.
23. Attention – Posez le radiateur sur une
surface rigide, plane et d’aplomb, exempte
d’obstructions et située à au moins 0,9 m
(3 pi) des corps combustibles. NE le placez
PAS sur une surface instable – literie ou
moquette épaisse, par exemple. Veillez à ce
qu’il ne risque pas de faire trébucher enfants
ou animaux de compagnie. Ses pieds de
caoutchouc l’immobilisent fermement.
24. Attention – Si l’installation électrique de
la maison comporte des fils d’aluminium,
faites vérifier la connexion à la prise par un
électricien agréé. Utiliser tout radiateur de
1500 watts avec câblage d’aluminium peut
compromettre la sécurité.
25. GARDEZ CES
INSTRUCTIONS
Posez l’appareil sur une surface rigide, d’aplomb et inobstruée,
à au moins 3 pi (0,9 m) des murs et des matières combustibles.

Laissez-le refroidir pendant dix minutes.
Débranchez-le puis déplacez-le. Sa poignée de déplacement
commode vous simpliera la tâche.

MODE D’EMPLOI
Les radiateurs isolants EnergySmartMD viennent assemblés.
Surveillez assidûment tout radiateur qui fonctionne.
Branchez le radiateur sur une prise de courant murale.

Allumez le radiateur en appuyant sur la touche d’alimentation
(). Le voyant lumineux d’alimentation brillera. Fig. 1
Pour réduire vos frais d’énergie jusqu’à 35 %, réglez le bouton
de commande à la température désirée. Quatre (4) réglages de
confort sont prévus: 65 °F (18 °C), 70 °F (21 °C), 75 °F
(24 °C) et 80 °F (27 °C). Le thermostat EnergySmartMD choisira
automatiquement le niveau de puissance requis pour obtenir
cette température désirée. Quand l’air ambiant (température
actuelle) a presque atteint la température voulue, le radiateur
baissera automatiquement la consommation pour maintenir
une chaleur constante sans gaspiller l’énergie.
Des DEL indiqueront la température ambiante actuelle.
REMARQUE: Le réglage BAS (LOW) est uniquement conçu
pour fonctionner à moins de 55 °F (12 °C). Si la température
ambiante est de plus de 55 °F (12 °C), le radiateur restera au
repos jusqu’à ce qu’elle baisse au-dessous de ce niveau. Si
vous désirez que le radiateur chaue quand il fait plus de
55 °F (12 °C) dans la pièce, réglez le bouton de température à
un niveau plus élevé.
Allumez le radiateur en appuyant sur la touche d’alimentation
(). Il se réglera d’emblée au mode chaleur constante haute et
l’indicateur de température achera la température ambiante
actuelle. Fig 2.
L’indicateur d’énergie utilisée achera la consommation
énergétique du radiateur.

Pour avoir priorité sur la fonction EnergySmartMD et obtenir le dégagement de chaleur maximal, tournez simplement le bouton de
température en sens horaire pour le mettre à HAUT (HIGH). Le radiateur fonctionnera alors constamment à 1500 watts.
Pour mettre l’oscillation en marche, pressez la touche ( ) une fois. Pour l’arrêter, pressez la touche ( ) une autre fois. Veuillez
noter que l’oscillation cessera dès que le mode écoénergétique EnergySmartMD aura atteint la température désirée et que le
radiateur ne diusera plus d’air chaud. L’oscillation reprendra quand le radiateur recommencera à propager de l’air chaud.
Appuyez sur la touche d’alimentation ( ) et débranchez le radiateur quand il a ni de servir; le voyant d’alimentation s’éteindra.

CARACTÉRISTIQUES DE SÉCURITÉ
DÉPANNAGE
Ce radiateur isolant EnergySmartMD présente plusieurs dispositifs et caractéristiques qui rehaussent la protection.
- Il est fait de plastique de sécurité de haute qualité, grâce auquel l’extérieur reste «froid au toucher». Si vous touchez brièvement
la grille, vous ne vous brûlez pas. Par mesure de sécurité, ne laissez pas votre peau nue contre la grille plus que nécessaire.

Nous conseillons de nettoyer le radiateur au moins une fois par mois et avant le rangement de hors saison (gardez la boîte d’emballage).
• ÉTEIGNEZ( ) le radiateur et débranchez-le. Laissez-le refroidir.
• Dépoussiérezlessurfacesextérieuresavecunchionsec.N’UTILISEZNIEAU,NICIRE,NIPRODUITÀPOLIR,NISOLUTIONCHIMIQUE.
• Avantlerangement,nettoyezleradiateurisolantEnergySmartMD tel qu’indiqué ci-haut. Enroulez le cordon autour de l’enrouleur,
sous le socle. Placez le radiateur dans sa boîte d’emballage d’origine et mettez celle-ci dans un endroit frais et sec.
Si le radiateur s’éteint inopinément ou cesse de fonctionner, l’une des caractéristiques de sécurité a peut-être été activée pour
empêcher la surchaue.
• Assurez-vousquel’appareilsoitbranchéetquelaprisedecourantfonctionne.
• VériezleréglageduthermostatEnergySmartMD. La température ambiante était peut-être atteinte, causant l’extinction.
• Vériezqu’iln’yaitpasd’obstructions–s’ilyenaune,ÉTEIGNEZleradiateuretdébranchez-le.Laissez-lerefroidir,enlevez
l’obstruction puis attendez au moins 10 minutes avant de le rebrancher. Suivez alors les instructions du MODE D’EMPLOI.

L’indicateur de température ambiante achera la température
actuelle de la pièce.
Au mode EnergySmartMD, l’indicateur d’énergie utilisée indiquera
le niveau de puissance auquel s’est automatiquement réglé le
radiateur pour maintenir ecacement la température désirée.
Pour avoir priorité sur la fonction EnergySmartMD, ÉTEIGNEZ ( )
le radiateur ou pressez SET pour sélectionner un mode de chaleur
constante.
Mode écoénergétique EnergySmartMD - Un thermostat
intelligent qui aide à économiser l’énergie. Pressez la touche SET
pour sélectionner l’un des quatre (4) degrés de confort: 65 °F (18
°C), 70 °F (21 °C), 75 °F (24 °C) et 80 °F (27 °C). Celui-ci constitue
votre température choisie. Le thermostat EnergySmartMD réglera
REMARQUE: Le fonctionnement au réglage bas nécessitant
moinsd’énergie,c’estleplusécoénergétique–sivoussouhaitez
économiser l’énergie, il constitue votre option de choix.
La commande numérique présente deux (2) modes pour le réglage:
Mode de chaleur constante - Deux (2) réglages de chaleur
1. Bas (Low), presser SET et LO ( )–consommationde900watts
2. Haut (High), presser SET et HI ( )–consommationde1500watts
automatiquement le niveau de puissance approprié pour obtenir
cette température choisie. Quand l’air ambiant (température
actuelle) a presque atteint la température choisie, le radiateur
abaissera automatiquement la consommation pour maintenir
une chaleur constante, sans gaspiller d’énergie.
