Installation
Installation Design
Thepurchase ofthisalarm systemrepresents amajorstep forwardinthe protectionofthe propertyand its
occupants.Itis importanttoplantheinstallation beforeproceedingfollowingthe proceduresandadvice
containedinthismanual.
Planthe positionof eachpart ofthealarm systemand thecable runs.Detectors
shouldbe sitedwithparticular regardtothe degreeofcoverage required.
Allofthe systemwiringisconnected directlytothepanel.TheAccenta panelmay
beconcealed insideacupboard orloftspace, butitmust beinstalledwithin the
protectedpremisesand inapositionwhichis convenientforamains supply.The
Optimapanelmaybe installednearanentry/exitpoint.
TheRemoteKeypads(RKPs)should bemountedin positionswhichallows
easeofoperationfor thesystemusers,typicallywithinthe entry/exitroute
closeto thefinal doorandthe masterbedroom.
Additionalinternalsoundspeakersarerecommended,thesewill providehigh
volumealarmtonesand lowvolumeentry/exittones.Speakers should
bepositionedto providegoodsounddistributionthroughout thebuildingandso that
theexittone isaudibleoutsidethemain entry/exitdoor.Thiswillenablethe system
operatorto checkthatthe systemissetting correctly.
Thetotalcurrentoutputofthis controlsystem(inalarm condition)is 1Awhen
supportedbya fullycharged battery.Calculatethe totalincludingthepanel, remote
keypads,external sirenwithstrobe light(alsocalled abellbox) anddetectorsto
ensurethatthis ratingisnot exceeded.
Dependingonwhich areayoulive,you mayberequired,by lawtonotifythe
LocalAuthorityandPolice ofthenewsecurityalarm installation.Thelocal
authorityrequirementsmay differfromareato area,therefore,itisadvisable to
contactlocalenvironmentalofficertoobtain fulldetails ofyour arearequirements.

CAUTION:When positioningthe controlpanelmake surethatit islocatedin adryplace away
fromdampareas.
NOTE: TheAccentaMini enclosure isillustratedhere, howevertheprocedures fortheotherpanels is
similar.

2. Disconnect thetransformerwires fromtheboard, theseare
markedAC. Carefullyremovetheboardby gentlypushing
down theholding clipsonthe bottomedgeof theboard
andwithdraw itfromthebase.
NOTE: Whenreplacing theboardaligniton theround
supportpillars tothebottom andallowit to
clickdown pastthe clipsat the topof thecase.
Refitthetransformerwiresintotheterminal.

1. Remove thefrontcover(s)from thebaseassembly.
3. Fitthepaneltothewallwith suitablefixings. Ensurethe
wallsurface isflattoprevent basedistortion.There are
cableentry holesprovided inthe rearofthe baseand
aroundtheoutside edgesthroughthethinnedout plastic
sectionswhich maybecut awayasrequired.
NOTE: Thehole providedadjacenttothe mains
transformerisa dedicatedmainscableentry
hole.
 

Assupplied, wirelinksare fittedacross thePA(PersonalAlert)andTamper terminalsto representaclosed
circuit.
Wiring the System
CAUTION: Alwayspower downthe panelwhen wiringexternal circuitstopreventdamageto
thepanelelectronics.
Systematicallywireandtesteachcircuit:
Zone,Tampercircuitand PAcircuits
Finishbywiring anyadditionalextensionspeaker sounders,externalsiren(bell) /strobeandthe13V
supply.
Tamper Network
TheTamper circuitisusedto protectallcablesand detectorsinthesystem fromunauthorisedaccessincluding
thepanel andRKP covers.
Thezone andPA(PersonalAlert) tampersshouldbe serieswiredand connectedto theTAMPterminals.
TerminalsTandAarefor theexternalsiren tamper.TheTAMPterminals atthebottom leftofthe boardare
forthe RKPtampers.
Tamperalarmsthat occurwhenthesystem isunset,operate internalsoundersonly.Tamper alarmsinSet
causeafull alarmcondition.Tamperisindicated onthecontrol panelandRKPs.

Itis recommendedthat nomorethan 10magnetic contactsareconnected tothe samezone andthatthe
combinedcable lengthfor eachzonedoes notexceed 100metres.

1 SeparatetheRKPbaseplate fromthemainassembly byslackeningtheretaining screw.
2 Cutaway therequiredthin wallsectionsaround theedgesof thebaseplatefor cableentry.
3 Thebaseplate maybefitteddirectly tothewall usingscrewsand wallplugs.If thesearenot appropriate
forthewallthenusesuitablealternativefixings.
CAUTION: ThePCB boardmust notbe removedfrom thefront mouldingand doingso may
invalidatethewarranty.
4 Bringthe cablesintothe baseplateandwire totheterminal blockonthe baseplate.
5 RefittheRKP mainassemblytothe baseplatebylocatingthe topretainingclipsinto theinsidetoppart
ofthebaseplate. Closethemain assemblyontothebaseplate, ensuringthatthe wiringdoesnotfoul thetamper
switch/springor thePCBsupport pillars.Resecure thescrewin thebottomof thecase.
