Installation
Installation Design
Thepurchase ofthisalarm systemrepresents amajorstep forwardinthe protectionofthe propertyand its
occupants.Itis importanttoplantheinstallation beforeproceedingfollowingthe proceduresandadvice
containedinthismanual.
Planthe positionof eachpart ofthealarm systemand thecable runs.Detectors
shouldbe sitedwithparticular regardtothe degreeofcoverage required.
Allofthe systemwiringisconnected directlytothepanel.TheAccenta panelmay
beconcealed insideacupboard orloftspace, butitmust beinstalledwithin the
protectedpremisesand inapositionwhichis convenientforamains supply.The
Optimapanelmaybe installednearanentry/exitpoint.
TheRemoteKeypads(RKPs)should bemountedin positionswhichallows
easeofoperationfor thesystemusers,typicallywithinthe entry/exitroute
closeto thefinal doorandthe masterbedroom.
Additionalinternalsoundspeakersarerecommended,thesewill providehigh
volumealarmtonesand lowvolumeentry/exittones.Speakers should
bepositionedto providegoodsounddistributionthroughout thebuildingandso that
theexittone isaudibleoutsidethemain entry/exitdoor.Thiswillenablethe system
operatorto checkthatthe systemissetting correctly.
Thetotalcurrentoutputofthis controlsystem(inalarm condition)is 1Awhen
supportedbya fullycharged battery.Calculatethe totalincludingthepanel, remote
keypads,external sirenwithstrobe light(alsocalled abellbox) anddetectorsto
ensurethatthis ratingisnot exceeded.
Dependingonwhich areayoulive,you mayberequired,by lawtonotifythe
LocalAuthorityandPolice ofthenewsecurityalarm installation.Thelocal
authorityrequirementsmay differfromareato area,therefore,itisadvisable to
contactlocalenvironmentalofficertoobtain fulldetails ofyour arearequirements.

Refitthetransformerwiresintotheterminal.

Wiring the System
CAUTION: Alwayspower downthe panelwhen wiringexternal circuitstopreventdamageto

Finishbywiring anyadditionalextensionspeaker sounders,externalsiren(bell) /strobeandthe13V
supply.
Tamper Network
TheTamper circuitisusedto protectallcablesand detectorsinthesystem fromunauthorisedaccessincluding
thepanel andRKP covers.
Thezone andPA(PersonalAlert) tampersshouldbe serieswiredand connectedto theTAMPterminals.
TerminalsTandAarefor theexternalsiren tamper.TheTAMPterminals atthebottom leftofthe boardare
forthe RKPtampers.
Tamperalarmsthat occurwhenthesystem isunset,operate internalsoundersonly.Tamper alarmsinSet
causeafull alarmcondition.Tamperisindicated onthecontrol panelandRKPs.

switch/springor thePCBsupport pillars.Resecure thescrewin thebottomof thecase.

1. Each outputhasbeenconfigured asactivelow.
2. Where thecommunicatoris poweredfroman externalsource,not thepaneland theoutputsare being
usedwithoutrelays,the panelandexternalpowersupplywill requireacommonnegativesupply rail.
3. If thecommunicatoris notfittedinside thepaneland abortisbeing used,careshould betakento ensure
thatthe abortconnection cannotbedamaged orsevered asthiscould causetheARC toincorrectly
filteranalarmsignal.
4. It isveryimportantthatcommunicatingsystems arefully testedandthatallsignalsare correctlyreceived
attheARCwhenthe systemisinstalled andserviced.
Filtering of Intruder alarms
Theexactmethod offilteringshouldbedecided accordingtothesecurity services/keyholderrequirements
andARCprocedures.
Ingeneral,the panelsofferthefollowingmethods thatcouldbeused tofilteranalarm.
Set/UnsetASetorUnset signalwhich isreceivedby theARCat aroundthe sametimeas anintrudersignal
canbe usedtofilter thealarm.
AbortOutputTheabortoutput operateswhenevera usercodeis enteredtoswitch offan intruderalarm
condition.Whenanabort signalisreceived byARCat oraroundthesame timeasan intrudersignal,the alarm
canbefiltered.
Restoreof theIntruder OutputTheintruder alarmoutput isrestored to12V whenevera usercode is
enteredtoswitch offanintruder alarmcondition.Wherean intruderalarmisshortly followedbyarestore at
theARC, thiscanbe usedto filterthealarm.
