General Information
About this guide:
The information and instructions written in this
guide are merely for the safe operation and
use of the HORSCH Avatar SD drilling
machine.
This document is intended for the operator to
use and read thoroughly before operation of
the machine so as not to create ahazardous
situation and/or put anyone or themselves in
harm’s way.Failure to follow written
procedures may result in machine damage,
property damage and/or personal injury.
Please comply with all noted warnings and
cautions.
These instructions are for the basic operation
only for this machine.See model year specific
machine Owner’s Manual for further detailed
information and safety guidelines.

Machine Hook Up:
Avatar Hook-Up consists of the following connections:
1. Lift/Lower, Fold/Unfold Hydraulic Hoses
2. SOD Fan Hydraulic hoses
3. Case Drain Hose (single hose)
4. ISO Connector
5. Extra Power Connector
6. Road Lighting Connector
IMPORTANT!Always hook up Case Drain first, prior
to machine operation to avoid any issues!

Support wheels

Support Wheels
The support wheels stabilize the seed bar and guarantee auniform working depth
across the entire working width.The support wheels must rest on the ground when
the machine is folded out and lowered to working position.
Adjusting the Support Wheels
The clips may only be removed or inserted when the respective side is relieved.
Therefor it is necessary to raise or lower the tool bar.
•Always fill all adjustment areas (1) and (2) completely with clips.
•Insert clips, which are not required, in area (3).
•Adjust both support wheels evenly.
Raising the Support Wheels
• Slightly lift the machine.
•Remove clips from area (1).
•Lower the machine.
•Reinsert the clips again in the area (2).
Lowering the Support Wheels
•Lower the machine.
•Remove clips from area (2).
•Lift the machine.
•Reinsert the clips again in the area (1).

Adjusting the support wheels

Checking the correct setting (machine in working position)
•The seed bar must be levelled horizontally in the direction of travel.
•The height (a) of the frame above ground must be the same across the
entire machine width.
Note:
•Adjust the height of the support wheels to the ground conditions and
the tractor you are using.
•The sowing depth must be checked across the entire working width
before starting work and for of larger fields also occasionally while
working!

Pay attention to the sequence of the following steps!
•Connect the machine to the tractor.
•Connect all hoses, including the case drain!
•Fold in the railing on the catwalk platform.
• Switch on the E-Manager and select hydraulics Lifting in the display.
•Lift the machine until the symbols for unfolding/ folding change to black.
•Remove the aluminum clips from the support wheels.
• Switch on the hydraulic Folding function in the display.
•Fold the railing and confirm in E-Manager before the wings are folded.Risk
of damages!

Folding (continued)
•The machine must be folded in at standstill.
•If the machine is moving or aspeed signal is detected when switching on
the folding menu, this notice will appear (see picture to left).
•The folding menu will only be enabled at astandstill.
• Press the softkey for "Lift/Fold".The button changes to green.
•Lift toolbar with the tractor hydraulics.
IMPORTANT! Watch the wings when folding.They must move evenly!

•Once the wings have been completely folded, press the button to
rest the wings in the transport rack
•Keep power on the tractor hydraulics until the wings rest in the
transport rack

Unfolding

Unfolding
Pay attention to the sequence of the following steps!
•Connect the machine to the tractor.
•Connect all hoses, including the case drain!
• Switch on the E-Manager.
• Switch on the hydraulic Unfolding function in the monitor.
•The machine will only unfold at astandstill!
• Press the softkey for "Lift/Fold".The button changes to green.
•Lift toolbar with the tractor hydraulics.
•Lift both wings out of the transport racks and completely unfold the
wings.
• Press the button for lowering.The symbol becomes green and the
toolbar can be lowered.
• At 50°the distribution towers are automatically extended.
•After lowering the toolbar the machine is unfolded.

ISOBUS TC Save and Shutdown
Task Controller On, Auto Variable Rate Control
After work is finished navigate to ISOBUS TC, Current Task, and select
to stop the task. After task is stopped use back arrow to navigate back to
main menu and select the Logout icon to save the information on the USB.

Coverage information or fields can be loaded from a USB into the Track
Leader using the Information In icon, then select the desired
information/field from the list that is displayed on screen. After
selected, the information/field will be displayed on the map screen.

Save and Shutdown Information
When finished planting, before the display is turned off, the field coverage data can be saved to aUSB drive.Select the back arrow to navigate back to the
Track Leader main screen and then select the Storage Icon.From the Storage main screen select the Information Out icon and then adesired name can be
entered and select the check mark.Next select the send to USB icon and Yes to send the information of field to the USB.
Field data can be deleted
by selecting the delete
icon.
Note: Only save with this process if you’re not using variable rate maps!

Error Codes
Alarm screens
Anumber of alarm and warning messages is stored in the software
which will be displayed in the event of faults.These screens consist
of abrief explanation text and corresponding warning symbols.
Each of these messages bears an error code, typically displayed in
the right lower corner of the screen.
The error codes are divided into three different sections.
Symbols are displayed in the upper section.
Warning symbols for the respective topic are displayed in the middle
section.
The bottom section contains an explanation text.
Alist of these error codes and associated descriptions is available
each through the HORSCH error code app HORSCH Error Codes.
The app is available for iOS and Android devices.
