The HP 51626 Black Inkjet Print
Cartridge is available in two ink
capacities. As well as the original
HP 51626A (40 ml), an additional
cartridge, the HP 51626G “Light User”
(20 ml), has been introduced for the
occasional user. These, together with
a twin pack, HP 51626T (2 x 40 ml),
give customers an optimum choice
of cartridges to more closely match
the right cartridge capacity to their
printing needs.
Both capacity cartridges have the
same external dimensions to fit
the same printers, with a drop-in,
snap-out action for quick, clean and
easy replacement. However, for
high-volume office printers, such as
some HP DeskJet, HP DesignJet
and HP OfficeJet Printers, HP
recommends the HP 51626A Large
Black Inkjet Print Cartridges (40 ml).
These print cartridges deliver the
best value and convenience for
high-volume users.
Although having different capacities,
all cartridges contain the same high-
quality HP custom-designed, high-
density, dye-based ink, delivering
optimal print quality.
The HP 51626A (40 ml) produces
on average 794 pages at 5% density
and on average 1056 pages at 3.75%
density. The HP 51626G (20 ml)
produces on average 397 pages
at 5% density and on average 528
pages at 3.75% density.

3. Why does the new HP 51626G “Light User”
Black Inkjet Print Cartridge have the same
physical size as the HP 51626A Large Black
Inkjet Print Cartridge?
The exterior dimensions of the new HP 51626G “Light
User” Black Inkjet Print Cartridges (20 ml) are identical
to the HP 51626A Large Black Inkjet Print Cartridges
(40 ml) to allow both cartridges to properly fit the same
products. The inside of the cartridges hold either
20 ml or 40 ml of ink as indicated on the cartridge
label and box. Despite the similar appearance, you can
be confident your HP 51626 Inkjet Print Cartridges
will deliver the volume of ink you selected.
4. The print cartridge boxes look similar –
how do I know which cartridge I’m getting?
Simply locate your HP Inkjet Print Cartridge product
number on the front of the box. The new HP 51626G
“Light User” Black Inkjet Print Cartridges (20 ml) are
designated by the letter ‘G’ at the end of that five-
digit number while the HP 51626A Large Black Inkjet
Print Cartridges (40 ml) are identified by the letter
‘A’ following the five-digit number. The descriptor
‘Light User’ or ‘Large Black’ above the appropriate
product number provides additional identification.
