Get Your Device Ready
>Insert the Battery
1. Hold the device with both hands and push the back cover upward
with your thumb to remove the cover.
2. Align the battery’s contacts with those inside the battery compartment
and gently push the battery into place.
3. Replace the back cover.
>Insert the microSD Card
1. Remove the back cover. (See step 1 above.)
2. Insert the microSD card into the slot with the gold contacts facing
down. Carefully insert the card into the slot and gently press in until
the card clicks into place.
3. Replace the back cover.
>Charge the Battery
1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the phone charger.
2. Plug the phone charger into an outlet.
3. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the sync connector on
your device.

>Activate Your Phone
• IfyouboughtyourdeviceataSprintStore,itisprobablyactivated
and ready to use.
• Ifyoureceivedyourdeviceinthemail,anditisanewSprint
accountoranewphonenumber,yourdeviceisdesignedto
activate automatically when you first turn it on. To confirm your
activation,makeaphonecall.
• Ifyoureceivedyourphoneinthemailandyouareactivatinga
newphoneforanexistingnumberonyouraccount,youwillneed
to go online to activate the number on your new phone. From your
computer’sWebbrowser,gotowww.sprint.com/activateand
complete the onscreen instructions to activate your phone.
Whenyouhavenished,makeaphonecalltoconrmyour
activation. If your phone is still not activated or you do not have
accesstotheInternet,contactSprintCustomerServiceat
1-888-211-4727 for assistance.

>Set Up Your Voicemail
All unanswered calls are automatically transferred to your
voicemail,evenifyourphoneisinuseorturnedoff.Youshould
set up your voicemail and personal greeting as soon as your
phoneisactivated:
1. Press to display the Phone screen.
2. Press and hold on the Phone keypad.
3. Follow the system prompts to create your passcode and record
your name and greeting.

>Save a Phone Number
1. FromtheHomepanel,enteraphonenumberandpress
Save (left softkey).
2. Select New Contact > Outlook Contact or Windows Live to
createanewcontact,orselectanexistingcontacttoaddit
to that contact entry.
3. Selectacategoryforthenumber(suchasMobile,Home,or
Work),enteranamefortheentry,andaddanyother
information you wish to store to the contact.
4. Press Save (left softkey).
>Retrieve a Phone Number
1. FromtheHomepanel,pressContacts (right softkey).
2. Useyournavigationkeytoscrollthroughtheentries,oruse
your keypad to enter the first few letters of the contact entry.
3. Todisplayanentry,highlightitandpress .
4. Tocalltheentry’sdefaultphonenumber,highlightitand
press .

>Send a Text Message
1. FromtheHomepanel,scrolltotheMessagespanel
and press .
2. Select Text message.
3. Enter a wireless phone number or email address.
4. Use your keypad to enter a message or press Menu (right
softkey) > My Text,andthenselectapresetmessage.
5. Press Send (left softkey).
>Take a Picture
1. FromtheHomepanel,pressStart (left softkey) > All
Programs (left softkey) > Camera to activate the camera.

2. Usingyourdisplayasaviewnder,aimthecameralensat
yoursubject,andpress .
3. Press or toreturntoCameramode,oruseyour
navigation key to select View,Send,Go Back,Delete,or
Hide Menu.
