InstallingtheBattery
If yourphone ison,pressandholdthe Power keytopoweroff your
phone.
RemovingtheBattery
If yourphone ison,pressandholdthe Power keytopoweroff your
phone.
Charging
1. Install the battery.
2. Connect thechargerplug tothechargerconnectorof yourphone.
3. Connect thepowercordof thetravelchargertothepowersocket.
4. Duringthe charging,theicon scrolls.When the icon stays
still, itindicatesthat thebatteryisfullycharged.
5. Disconnectthetravelchargerfromthe powersocketandyour
phone.

lUsethechragermanufactured orapprovedbyHuawei
only.
lDonot useanydamaged orwornout batteryorcharger.

lChargethe batteryforatleasteight hoursatthefirsttime.

1. Inthe standbymode, select Menu > Settings > Language.
2. Select English.
MakingaCall
ThroughtheKeypad
1. Inthestandbymode,press alphanumerickeystoenterthearea
code andphonenumber.
2. Press the Send keytodial.
FromthePhonebook
1. Inthestandbymode,pressthe Down keytodisplaycontactsof
the phonebook. Then, select the contact.
2. Press the Send keytwicetodial.
FromtheCallHistory
1. Press the Send keytodisplaycall records.Thenselectthe
record.
2. Press the Send keytodial.
FromaMessage
1. Pressthe Right keytoaccess theinbox.Then selectthe
message.
2. Select View > Options > Call todial.
SpeedDialing
Pressand hold 2to 9tospeed dialaphonenumber.

MakinganInternationalCall
1. Press the *keytwicetoenter +.
2. Enterthecountrycode, areacode and phone number.
3. Press the Send keytodial.
Answering/RejectaCall
Whenthereisanincomingcall,yourphonealerts.Thenyoucan press
the Send keytoanswerit.
If youhavesavedthe phonenumberofthe incoming callasacontact
tothe phonebook,yourphonedisplaysthe name and thephone
number. Otherwise, you phone onlydisplaysthephone number.
lPress the Send keyorthe left soft keytoansweranincoming
call.
lPress the Power keyortherightsoft keytorejectanincoming
call.
Youcanset theanswermode toauto, anykeyorflipopen.

AdjustingtheVolume
Pressthe Up or Down keytoadjust the earpiecevolume.
Muting
1. Select Mute.Afteryou mute the call,the otherpartycannothear

2. Press and holdthe #keytomanuallylock thephone.

InputModes
Youcan enterEnglishletters,numbers,andsymbols.The following
input modesareavailable:
lEnglishinput:YoucanenterEnglishthrough normalinputmode
orpredictiveinput mode.
l123 input: Enternumbers.
Duringtheediting,you can press the #keytoswitchbetweeninput
modes.
EnteringEnglish
Inthe Englishinput mode, press andholdthe *keytoswitchbetween
theABCmodeandthePredictiveInputmode,press and holdthe #
keytoswitch amongtheuppercase,lowercase,andsentencecaps
mode.
ABCInputMode
Youneedtopress thekeylabeledwiththerequired letters.
lPress oncetoenterthefirst letter.
lPress twicetoenterthe second letter.
Forexample, enter"Huawei".
1. Switchtothe ABCinput mode.
2. Switchtothe sentencecapsmode.
3. Press the 4keytwicetoenter"H".
4. Press the 8 keytwicetoenter"u".
5. Press the 2 keyoncetoenter"a".
6. Press the 9keyoncetoenter"w".
7. Press the 3 keytwicetoenter “e”.
8. Press the 4keythree timestoenter"I".
PredictiveInputMode
Inthe Predictiveinputmode,press keyslabeledwithrequiredletters
inasequence,yourphonewilldisplaycandidatewords.Youcan
pressthe Up or Down keytoselectapreviousornext word.Also, you
canpress the Left or Right keytoconfirmand movethecursortothe

left orright oraselectedword.
Forexample, enter"Book".
1. Press the #keytoswitchtothe Predictiveinput mode.
2. Switchtothe sentencecapsmode.
3. Press the 2, 6, 6, and 5keyonce. “Cool”isdisplayed.
4. Press the Up or Down keytoselect"Book".Press the 0keyto
enteraspace, and then enterthe next word.Or, press the Left or
Right keytoconfirmand movethecursortothe left orrightof
"Book".
ABCInputMode
Youcanenternumbersintwoways:
lPress the #keytoswitchtothe123 input mode.Thenpress
numerickeystoenternumbers.
lInanyinputmode,press andholdnumerickeystoenter

EnteringSymbols
Youcanentersymbolsinthreeways:
lInanyinputmode,press the *keytodisplaythe listof symbols.
Thenpressthe navigationkeystoselectthe symbol.Pressthe
left softkeytoenter. Or,you canpress andholdacorresponding
numerickeytoenterasymbol.
lInABCinputmodes,press the 1keyconsecutively toenter
symbols.
lInPredictiveinputmode,pressthe 1 keyto display “.”.Pressthe
Up or Down keytoselectothersymbols.

CreatingaMessage
Createamessagetosendit toaphonenumberorcontact.
1. Select Menu > Messages > WhiteMessage.Also,youcan
pressthe Up keytoaccess White Message.
2. Enterthecontent inthe Edit window. Theupperside of it displays
the remainingcharactersyoucan enter.
3. Select Options toselect:
ØSend: Sendthemessage toarecipient.
ØSend&Save:Send themessage toarecipient andsaveit
tothe outbox.
ØSave:Savethemessage tothe outbox.
ØPriority:Select Normal, Urgent or Emergency.
ØCall BackNo.: Set thecall back number.
ØInsertPhrase: Therearetenfrequentlyused phrasesto
select.
ØInsertNumber: Insert aphone numberof acontact inthe
phonebookintothe message.
ØInsertName:Insert anameof acontactintothemessage.
4. Select Send toaccessthe AddNumber menu.Youcanadd up
toten phonenumbers.
5. Afterselectingacontact, you canpressthe Send keytosendthe
message.Alternatively, you can select Option toselect:
ØSend: Sendthe message.
ØDelete: Deleteaselectedcontact.
6. Select Send tosendthe message.

5Phonebook
AddingaContact
Anewcontact issavedtothememoryinuse.
Dothefollowingtoaddacontact:
1. Select Menu > Phonebook > AddNew.
2. Enterthephonenumberand presstheleft soft keytoconfirm.
3. You canset thetype of the phonenumberto:
ØMobile
ØOffice
ØHome
4. Enterthename.Thenpressthe left soft keytoconfirmorpress
the right soft keytoclear.
5. Select Save.
SearchingforaContact
Contactsarearrangedinaccordancewiththe alphabeticorder.
Dothefollowingtosearchacontact::
1. Select Menu > Phonebook > Search toaccessthe Name
window.
2. Enterthe name ofacontactinthe Name window.Then select
OK.
3. Select View toviewdetails.
4. Select Options toselect:
ØWhiteMessage: Sendamessage tothe contact.
ØEdit: Editthename andphonenumberof the contact.
ØCopy Record: Copythe contacttoyourphoneorthe UIM
card.
ØDelete: Deletethecontact.
ØView: Viewdetails.

6AlarmClock
Yourphoneprovidesthreealarmclocks. Afteryouset thealarmclock,
yourphonealertsyouatthesettime inthe modeyouset. You can
pressthe Power keyortheleftsoftkeytoturnoffthealarmclock.
Alternatively,youcan press the rightsoft keytosnoozethe alarm
clock.
SettingtheAlarmClock
Afteryouset thealarmclock, appears.
1. Select Menu > Extras > Alarms.
2. Scroll toan alarmclockand select OK. Dothe followingtoset the
alarm clock:
ØOnoroff: Select On toenablethealarmclock.
ØSetthe time: Press the Left or Right keytomovethe cursor.
You canenterthetimedirectlyorpressthe Up or Down key
toadjust the time.If youusethe12-hourformat, pressthe
Up or Down keytoselect AM or PM.
ØSetthe repeat method: Set it to Once, Everyday, Mon-Fri or
Mon-Sat.
3. Aftersetting, select OK tosavethe setting.
Note: Ifyou donotturnoffthealarm clock, yourphone autosnoozes
itandplaysthe alarmtoneintenminutes.Yourphonecan
snoozethe alarmclockforthree times.
CancelingtheAlarmClock
1. Select Menu > Extras > Alarms.
2. Scroll toan alarmclock andselect OK.
3. Select Off.

SettingthePhoneLockCode
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security > PhoneLock.
2. Select Enable or Disable.
Afteryourphoneislocked, youcan still makeanemergencycall.
ChangingthePhoneLock
The default phone lockis"0000".
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security > ChangePhoneLock.
2. Enterthecurrent phone lockcode. Thenselect OK.
3. Enterthe newphonelock codetwice.Youcan changethecurrent
phonelock toanynumericstringof fourdigits.
PIN1
The personalidentitynumber(PIN)can protectyourUIMcardfrom
authorizeduse. If youenterwrong PINcodesthree timesinarow, you
need tousethepersonalunblockingkey(PUK)tounblock PIN.The
PINcodeisdeliveredwiththeUIMcard.
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security >PIN1.
2. Select Enable or Disable.
ChangingPIN1
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security > ChangePIN1.
2. Enterthecurrent PINcode. Thenselect OK.
3. EnterthenewPINcodetwice.ThenewPINcode shouldbeany
numericstringof fourdigits.
If youenterwrongPINcodesthree timesinarow,yourphonelocks
theUIMcard.Inthiscase,youneed touse the PUKcodetounblock
PIN.And ifyouenterwrong PUKcodesten timesinarow,thephone
will be locked. If thesituationoccurs, contactyourserviceprovider.
