Screen Icons
Icon Meaning
Indicates the signal strength. The more the bars are, the
stronger the signal is.
There is an incoming call, a call is being set up, or the
phone is in conversation.
The keypad is locked.
A new message or a voice mail is received.
The memory for messages is full.
The General profile is activated.

Icon Meaning
The Meeting profile is activated.
The Silent profile is activated.
The Outdoor profile is activated.
The Headset profile is activated.
The Carkit profile is activated.
An alarm clock is set.
Indicates the battery power level. The more the bars are,
the more power of the battery is left.
The battery power level is extremely low.
The data service is activated.
The vibration mode is activated.

Installing the Battery

Installing the UIM Card
If the phone is powered on, press and hold for over two
seconds to power it off. Then remove the battery.

Charging the Battery
To charge the battery, do as follows:
1. Connect the travel charger to the charger interface at the bottom
of your phone.

2. Connect the charger to an AC power socket.
During the charging, the icon on the upper right corner of the
screen is in an animated status.
3. Wait until the phone is fully charged. If becomes static, the
battery is fully charged.
4. Disconnect the charger from the AC power socket.
5. Press the gray buttons on both sides of the charger connector
inward to disconnect it from the phone.

zDo not use a damaged battery or charger.
zBefore using the travel charger, ensure that the battery is
installed in your phone.
Powering On/Off the Phone
Press and hold for two seconds to power on/off the phone.
Using the Function Menu
To use the function menus, do as follows:
1. In the standby mode, press (Menu).

2. Press to select the desired function menu.
3. Press (Select) to display the selected menu.
4. Display the submenu in either of the ways:
zPress to select a submenu and then press (Select) to
display the selected submenu.
zPress the number key corresponding to the serial number of a
submenu to display the submenu.
5. Press (Back) to return to the previous menu or quit the
function menu.
To return to the standby mode, press .

3 Voice Services
Making a Call
1. In the standby mode, enter the phone number.
zTo make an international call, press and hold to enter the
international long distance code of “+”. Then enter the number to
be dialed, in the format of "country code + region code + phone
number".
zTo call a number with an extension, press to insert “P” or
press to insert “T” between the phone number and the
extension number.
2. Press to dial this number.
3. Press or (End Call)to end the call.
Note In the standby mode, press to select the desired
number from Dialed Calls. Then press to dial this
number.
Receiving a Call
When there is an incoming call, you can press or
(Answer) to answer it, or press to reject it.
zWhen there is an incoming call, you can press (Silence) to
mute the speaker and press (End Call) again to reject it. If
the phone is in the silent profile, you can just press (End
Call) to reject it.
zIf the any-key answer function is activated, you can press any key
except and to answer an incoming call.

zIf the headset auto answer function is activated, and the headset is
connected to the phone, the incoming call is answered
automatically.
Note You can set any-key answer function in the Call Settings
menu, set the headset auto answer function by selecting
Profiles > Headset > Edit > Headset Auto Answer.
Options During a Call
During a call, you can press or to increase the volume and
press or to decrease the volume.
Press (Options), and you can select one of the following
options:
zSave Number: Allows you to enter a new number and save it in
phonebook.
zPhonebook: Allows you to search or create a contact in
phonebook.
zMessages: Allows you to access the Messages menu.
zThird Party Call: This function depends on network. For more
information, consult your service provider.
zSpeaker on/Speaker off: Allows you to activate or deactivate the
phone speaker.

4 Text Entry
Text Input Modes
You can enter English Spanish or Portuguese letters/characters and
numbers by using the keypad.
While entering text, you can change the input mode by pressing
.The following table lists the input modes and their indicators.

Note zPress (Clear) once to delete the letter on the left of
the cursor. Press and hold (Clear) for about two
seconds to delete all letters at a time.
zIn any text input mode, on the upper left corner of the
screen displays the current editing status, including the
maximum letters for a piece of message and how many
letters you can continue to enter.

Entering English
Alphabetical Text Input
Alphabetical text input allows you to enter uppercase ("ABC") or
lowercase ("abc") English letters. You can press a number key
labeled with required letters once to enter the first letter on the key,
twice to enter the second letter on the key, and so on.
If the letter you want to enter is on the same key as the previous one,
you can enter the latter only after the cursor appears again or after
you move the cursor to the next space.
In the "ABC" or "abc" input mode, you can press once to enter
a space, twice to enter "0", and three times to move the cursor to the
next line.
You can press repeatedly to enter the commonly used
punctuations.
Smart English Input
The "eZiEn" input mode recognizes commonly used words according
to the numeric sequence of key presses and inserts the word into your
message. It requires only one key press per letter of the word that you
are spelling. If more than one word shares the same numeric
sequence, "eZiEn" provides the most commonly used words. Among
the possible words, you can press to select the desired one.
Entering Symbols
In any input mode, press to display a symbol list. You can press
to scroll to the desired symbol. Then press the number key
labeled with the symbol to enter this symbol.

6 Writing and Sending a Text
Message
1. Select Menu > Messages > Write Message. You can also access
the Write Message menu by pressing and holding for two
seconds in the standby mode.
2. Write the message. Select (Options) for one of the
following options:
zSend: Allows the phone to send the message without saving.
zSend&Save: Allows the phone to send the message and save it.
If the message is sent successfully, it is saved in the outbox, or it
is saved in the draft if it is sent unsuccessfully.
zSave: Allows the phone to save the message to the draft.
zInsert Template: Allows you to edit the message based on a
template.
zInsert Phone Number: Allows you to insert the phone number of
a contact in the phonebook.
3. While entering the number(s) of the receiver(s), you can select
Search > Search Phonebook to select the number(s) of one
contact from the phonebook, or select Search > Search Groups
to select the number(s) of a group of contacts.
4. Press (Send) to send the message.

7 Phonebook
Adding a New Contact
1. Select Menu > Phonebook > Add New.
2. Enter the name, and press (OK).
3. Enter the necessary information.
zIf the memory in use is the phone, you can enter the number in
General Number, Mobile Number, Home Number, Office
Number and Fax Number (At least one number field should be
set.). You can enter the E-mail of the new contact and select a
group, a ring and a picture for the contact.
zIf the memory in use is the UIM card, you can enter the
information in General Number.
4. Press (Save) to save the information. The new contact will
be saved to the phone.
Searching a Contact
1. Select Menu > Phonebook > Search.
2. Enter the name you want to search, and press (OK).
3. Press (View) to view the contact.
4. Press (Options) for one of the following operations:
zEdit: Allows you to modify or view the contact.
zDelete: Allows you to delete this contact.
zCopy To UIM (Copy To Phone): If the contact is saved in phone,
choose Copy To UIM to copy it to the UIM card. If the contact is
saved in the UIM card, choose Copy To Phone to copy it to the
phone.
zSend Message: Allows you to write a message. After selecting the
number, press (OK). Write a message, press (Options)
and select (Send) to send this message.

8 Alarm Clock
After the alarm clock is activated, the phone rings and/or vibrates
according to the preset mode at the specified time when the phone is
powered on. You can set five alarm clocks at most.
Activating the Alarm Clock
1. Select Menu > Fun&Utilities > Alarm.
2. Press to select an alarm clock.
3. Select Alarm On to activate the alarm clock.
4. Set the time, and press (OK).
5. Select the alerting mode:
zIf you select Once, the alarm clock alerts once.
zIf you select Everyday, the alarm clock alerts once a day.
zIf you select Custom, the alarm clock alerts at a specified time.
Note zWhen the alarm clock alerts, press any key to stop it
(except ) . Alternatively, press (Snooze) to
delay it for five minutes, after which the alarm alerts
again.
zIf nothing is done to the alarm clock when it alerts, it
stops temporarily and alerts again five minutes later. It
alerts for five times before it stops thoroughly.
Deactivating the Alarm Clock
1. Select Menu > Fun&Utilities > Alarm.
2. Press to select an alarm clock.
3. Select Alarm Off to deactivate the alarm clock.
Note You can select Cancel All to deactivate all alarm clocks.

9 Security
Activating/Deactivating the Phone Lock
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security > Phone Lock.
2. Enter the correct phone lock code and press (OK). The
default phone lock code is "000000".
3. Select On or Off to activate or deactivate the phone lock.
Changing the Phone Lock Code
You can change the default or your current phone lock code into any
numeric string of 4-8 digits. Do remember your phone lock code. If
you forget it, contact your local dealer.
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security > Phone Lock.
2. Enter the correct phone lock code and press (OK).
Select Change Code.
3. Enter a new phone lock code and press (OK).
4. Re-enter the new phone lock code and press (OK).
