1 Safety Precautions
Please read the safety precautions carefully to ensure the correct
use of your mobile phone.
Do not crash, throw, or puncture your mobile
phone. Avoid the falling, squeezing, and bending of
your mobile phone.
Do not use your mobile phone in a moist
environment, such as the bathroom. Prevent your
mobile phone from being soaked or washed in
liquid.
Do not switch on your mobile phone when it is
prohibited to use phones or when the phone may
cause interference or danger.
Do not use your mobile phone while driving.
Follow any rules or regulations in hospitals and
health care facilities. Switch off your mobile phone
near medical apparatus.
Switch off your mobile phone in aircraft. The phone
may cause interference to control equipment of the
aircraft.
Switch off your mobile phone near high-precision
electronic devices. The phone may affect the
performance of these devices.
Do not attempt to disassemble your mobile phone
or its accessories. Only qualified personnel are
allowed to service or repair the phone.

Do not place your mobile phone or its accessories in
containers with a strong electromagnetic field.
Do not place magnetic storage media near your
mobile phone. Radiation from the phone may erase
the information stored on them.
Do not put your mobile phone in a high-temperature
place or use it in a place with flammable gas such as
a gas station.
Keep your mobile phone and its accessories away
from children. Do not allow children to use your
mobile phone without guidance.
Use only approved batteries and chargers to avoid
the risk of explosions.
Observe any laws or regulations on the use of
wireless devices. Respect others' privacy and legal
rights when using your wireless device.

2 Getting Started

Please read the section "Safety information" before using your phone
for safety tips and precautions.
Installing the Battery
Charging the Battery
When the battery icon changes to or the charging animation
becomes static, the battery is fully charged.
If the battery charge is fully depleted, it may take several minutes for
the phone to display the charging icon after the charger is plugged in.

Keys and Functions
In this guide, the navigation keys of the phone are indicated by ,
, , and .
Press... To...
Dial a number or answer a call.
Access Recent Calls in standby mode.
Power the phone on or off (press and hold the
key for about 3 seconds).
End or reject a call.
Return to standby mode.
Turn the backlight on or off in standby mode.
Turn the speaker on or off (press and hold the key
for about 3 seconds).
Go back to the previous screen.
Delete characters in editing mode.
Select the option displayed in the lower left corner
of the screen.
Select the option displayed in the lower right
corner of the screen.
Access the functions assigned to the navigation
keys in standby mode.

3 Call Functions
Making a Call
1. In standby mode, press the number keys to enter a phone
number.
You can also make a call through your call logs and contacts.
2. Press to dial the number.
3. Press to end the call or cancel the dialing.
Answering a Call
When you receive an incoming call, press to answer it or
to reject it.
If the Any Key answer function is enabled, you can press any key
except , , and to answer a call. To
set this function, select Menu > Settings > Call > Answer
Mode > Any Key.
If the Headset Auto-Answer function is enabled and a headset is
connected to the phone, the phone will automatically answer
incoming calls for a pre-defined period. To set this function, select
Menu > Settings > Call > Headset Auto-Answer.
Speed Dialing
If the speed dialing numbers are assigned to the number keys, you
can press and hold a number key for about 3 seconds in standby
mode to speed dial the phone number. Up to 8 speed dialing
numbers can be assigned.
For more details, see the section "Contacts" to learn how to assign
speed dialing numbers to the contact numbers.

4 Text Input
Changing the Text Input Mode
The current text input mode indicator is displayed in the upper
right corner of the text input screen. To switch between the text
input modes, press .
You can select Menu > Settings > Phone > Text Input Settings
to change the input language and enable or disable the predictive
input mode.
Entering English and Spanish
In multi-tap input mode, press the key labeled with the desired
letter to enter the letter once to enter the first letter on the key,
twice to enter the second letter, and so on.
In predictive input mode:
1. Press each key according to the spelling sequence of the
desired word. The phone displays candidate words that may be
spelt by the keystroke sequence.
2. Press or to scroll to the desired word.
3. Press or to enter the desired word, or
to enter the word followed by a space.
Entering a Number
To enter a number:
In "123" input mode, press the key labeled with the desired
number.
In any input mode other than "123" input mode, press and
hold the number key for about 3 seconds to enter the desired
number.
Entering a Symbol
To enter a symbol:

In any input mode, press to display the symbol list.
Press to scroll to the desired symbol. Then press
or to enter the symbol.
In multi-tap input mode, repeatedly press to switch
between the commonly used symbols.
In predictive input mode, press , and then press
or to scroll to the desired symbol.
5 Contacts
Creating a Contact
1. Select Menu > Contacts > Create Contact.
2. Edit the contact information.
3. Press or to save the contact.
Searching for a Contact
1. Select Menu > Contacts.
2. Enter the contact name, or the first several letters of a contact
name.
3. Press and to scroll to the contact.
Adding Favorites
1. Select Menu > Contacts > Favorites > Add Favorites.
2. Press and to scroll to the contact.
3. Press or to add the contact into your list of
favorites.
Adding a Group
1. Select Menu > Contacts > Groups > Add Group.
2. Edit the group name.
3. Select Members and press to mark the contacts to be
included in the group.

4. Press to save the members.
5. Press to save the group.
Assigning Speed Dialing to a Contact
1. Select Menu > Contacts > Options > Manage Contacts >
Speed Dialing.
2. Select a number from 2to 9and press or to
confirm.
3. Select a contact from the contact list or enter a number.
4. Press or to save the speed dialing number.
6 Messaging
Creating and Sending a SMS Message
1. Select Menu > Messages > New Message.
2. Add recipients by entering the phone numbers, or press
and then select the recipients from the contact list.
3. Edit the message.
4. Select Options > Send to send the message.
Emergency Alerts
Your network provider allows emergency alerts to be sent via text
message to your phone as issued by the Commerical Mobile Alerts
System (CMAS) adopted by the FCC.
You can customize the types of alerts you wish to receive under
the Menu > Messages > Settings > Emergency Alerts.
However, Presidential alerts cannot be disabled.

7 Security
Keypad Lock
When the keypad is locked, you can still press to answer a call or
make an emergency call.
To lock the keypad, press and hold for about 3 seconds in
standby mode.
To unlock the keypad, press , then .
If the Auto Keypad Lock function is enabled, the phone's keypad
will automatically lock after being idle in standby mode for a pre-
defined period. To set this function, select Menu > Settings >
Phone > Auto Keypad Lock.
Phone Lock
The phone lock protects your phone from unauthorized use.
By default, the phone lock is disabled. To enable or disable the
phone lock, select Menu > Settings > Security > Phone Lock.
Once you enable the phone lock, you must enter the password.
The default password to unlock your phone is the last four
numbers of the MDN (Mobile Directory Number), and it can be
changed to any numeric string of four to eight digits in length.
You can select Menu > Prepaid > My Phone Number to see the
MDN, and select Menu > Settings > Security > Change Phone
Lock Code to change the password.
Master Clear
Master Clear will restore your phone to its default settings, but
does not erase user data.
Select Menu > Settings > Security > Master Clear, then enter

your phone lock code. The phone will clear all the settings you
have configured.
You can see the section "Phone Lock" to find the default phone lock code,
and how to change it. If you Master Clear your phone, the phone lock
code will be restore to the default one.
Master Reset
Master Reset will restore the phone to its factory settings and
passwords, clear user data, and restart the phone. All of your
personal data stored on the phone, including your system and
application settings, your call logs and messages stored on the
phone, and any applications you have installed will be erased.
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security > Master Reset.
2. Read the warning and select Yes.
3. Enter your phone lock code. The phone will resets the settings,
and then restarts.
You can see the section "Phone Lock" to find the default phone lock code,
and how to change it. If you reset your phone to its factory settings, the
phone lock code will be restore to the default one.
8 TTY Operation
The Teletypewriter (TTY) is a typewriting device that is used to
communicate over a phone network. By enabling the TTY function
and connecting your phone to a TTY device, you can use the TTY
device to send or receive messages.
Configuring the TTY Settings
Select Menu > Settings > Phone > TTY Settings to configure

the following TTY settings:
TTY OFF: Use standard voice speaking mode and listening
mode.
TTY FULL: Send and receive TTY characters.
TTY VCO: Receive TTY characters but send by speaking into
the microphone.
TTY HCO: Send TTY characters but receive by listening to the
earpiece.
Using a TTY
To use the TTY function:
1. Set your phone to TTY mode and connect the TTY device into
the headset jack of your phone.
2. Make or answer a call.
3. When the call is set up, use the TTY device to send or receive
messages.
4. Press to end the call.
9 Troubleshooting
If you encounter any problem when using your phone, try to
rectify the problem according to the following table. If the
problem persists, contact the service provider or the dealer.

Problem Ensure that...
Your phone
displays "No
service found",
"Service
unavailable" or
"Network
problem".
You are in an area with very weak signal
or outside your service provider's
network coverage (in a tunnel or
surrounded by buildings). If so, move to
another area and try again.
Do not utilize the service option without
obtaining authorization from your
service provider.
10 Safety information
This section contains important information about the operation
of your device. It also contains information about how to use the
device safely. Read this information carefully before using your
device.
Electronic device
Do not use your device if using the device is prohibited. Do not
use the device if doing so causes danger or interference with other
electronic devices.
Interference with medical equipment
Follow rules and regulations set forth by hospitals and health
care facilities. Do not use your device where prohibited.
Some wireless devices may affect the performance of hearing
aids or pacemakers. Consult your service provider for more
information.
