1. Your phone meets the international standards and its temperature rise is lower that most
products of its class in the industry.

Based on the EN 60950-1, the maximum temperature for metal is 60 degrees, glass 70 degrees,
and plastics 85 degrees for short-term contact; the maximum temperature for metal is 55
degrees, glass 65 degrees, and plastics 75 degrees for long-term contact.
1.2 Does my phone support fast charging?
Your phone comes with a standard 9 V 2 A charger. When your phone's battery is low, charge
it for 10 minutes and you'll get enough power to make around 2 hours of calls. The exact time
depends on the network conditions.

1.3 How long will my phone's battery last?
Your phone is equipped with Huawei's proprietary power-saving technologies. Tests show that
the battery will last for a whole day for heavy users.
1.4 Does my phone support reverse charging?
Yes. Your phone supports reverse charging.
1. Your phone can be used to reverse charge other phones. To use this function, you need a
connecting cable (micro USB to micro USB) to connect the two phones.
2. Your phone can also be used to reverse charge Huawei noise reduction headsets.
1.5 Does my phone's battery contain graphene?
No. Your phone uses a lithium battery. No graphene is used.
1.6 Does my phone support wireless charging?
No.
1.7 Why does my phone charge more slowly after reaching
80% charge?
The Huawei Mate 8 uses a 4000 mAh high energy density battery and a high voltage quick
charger (9 V/2 A). Your phone only takes 2 hours and 20 minutes to be fully charged. It takes
about an hour to reach 80% charge; and then constant voltage charging starts and takes
control of the charging current. This is a normal phenomenon due to the nature of the battery.
1.8 How long does the battery last on the Huawei Mate 8?
This can only be used to answer one-to-one questions by users on the hotline and is not
to be published on the Internet or elsewhere.
For regular users, the Huawei Mate 8's battery lasts for 2.36 days; for heavy users, 1.65 days
(data acquired from lab tests). The actual usage time depends on specific user habits and the
amount of time the screen stays on.
When the phone is set to default brightness and fully charged:
Battery lasts for 14 hours for home screen operations (one slide on the screen every 5
seconds)
12 hours for instant messaging,

1.9 Why does my hand feel numb from touching the
phone when it is charging?
1. The numb sensation is because the user's body exchanged a small amount of electric
charge with the environment, which stimulated the user's nerves. It's like the static
electricity discharge when you take off your sweater on a winter night. Our charger has
passed global safety certification. Each of our chargers has been tested for safety issues
comprehensively before it is delivered to the user.
2. Please make sure you are using the charger that came with your phone or a Huawei
charger purchased from Huawei authorized stores. All of our chargers have passed
rigorous tests and have received Chinese and international safety certifications. They
meet both CCC and IEC 60950 safety standards. There is no risk of electric shock during
normal usage. Chargers purchased through unofficial channels may not have undergone
strict design reviews or tests and verifications, and may not have any safety certificates.
There is no guarantee that they are safe to use.
3. If your charger doesn't function normally and has a damaged chassis, there is a risk of
electrical leakage. Please do not use it and replace it with an official Huawei charger.
4. Please make sure that you use the charger with a normal household electrical
supply
1.10 Why does my Huawei Mate 8 have a short battery
life?
If you feel your phone's battery life is too short, it is recommended that you follow the
instructions below:
1. It is recommended that you update your phone to the latest version. Connect your phone
to Wi-Fi, touch Settings > Updater > Check for updates, touch refresh, and then
download and install the firmware update.
2. Adjust screen brightness (you can enable Automatic Brightness to allow your phone to
adjust the screen brightness to suit its environment, or manually drag the brightness
slider down).

3. It is recommended that you use Smart mode rather than Performance mode. (Steps:
Settings > Advanced settings > Battery manager >Smart).
4. Close all unneeded applications running in the background. To do this, touch the Recent
key on the virtual navigation bar, and slide up to close all applications.
5. Uninstall unneeded power-intensive applications. (Touch Settings > Advanced
settings > Location access to check if there are applications consuming a large amount
of power, and choose the ones you wish to uninstall.)
6. Do not use live wallpaper. Live wallpaper will significantly reduce your battery life. It is
recommended that you use static wallpaper.
7. Turn off functions you are not currently using: Wi-Fi
hotspot/Wi-Fi/GPS/Bluetooth/Mobile data/NFC. Switch off the Auto-Sync
button/Smartcare.
8. Disable Mobile data always on (Settings > More > Mobile network > Mobile data
always on).
9. Select Never (increases data usage) under Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep (Settings >
Wi-Fi > Menu > Advanced settings).

Both the SIM card slots support 4G, but only one can be used in 4G mode at any one time.

2.1.2 Why doesn't my phone recognize the SIM card I inserted?
Please make sure you are using a standard nano-SIM card. Do not use a non-standard
SIM card or cut the SIM card yourself. Manually cut SIM cards may not be recognized
or may even damage your phone. It is recommended that you replace it with a standard
nano-SIM card from your network carrier.
Please make sure you place the card correctly into the slot. The angled corner of the SIM
card must be placed to fit correctly in the card slot (as shown below).
If your SIM card has been in use for a long time, you can try wiping the card's metal
contacts with alcohol, or you can replace it with a standard nano-SIM card from your
network carrier. A SIM card's metal surface can become oxidized after being used for a
long time, which can make the SIM unrecognizable.
Please do not insert or remove your SIM card while your phone is on. Try restarting your
phone after you've inserted a SIM card.
If the problem persists, take your phone to an authorized Huawei service center along
with the purchase invoice to be checked and repaired.
2.1.3 What card should I place in each SIM card slot?
Put a nano-SIM card in card slot 1 (internal card slot).
Put a nano-SIM card or microSD card in card slot 2 (external card slot).
2.1.4 What colors are included in the color scheme?
There are currently four colors: moonlight silver, space gray, champagne gold, and mocha
gold.
2.1.5 Why does the camera flash catch on my hand?
The camera flash is slightly recessed to prevent it from catching and causing injury. Please
note that this does not affect performance.

2.1.7 Why is there a step difference and rough feel between the
plastic part of the antenna gap and the rear cover?
The amount of metal and plastic removed by the polishing process during manufacturing can
be different, which has caused the step difference and rough feel. Please rest assured, this will
not affect your phone's performance.

2.1.8 Why are there three faint marks either side of the receiver on
the gold edition?
In order to combine functionality and looks, the front indicator light, camera flash, and

2.1.9 Why do the power key and volume key protrude by
different lengths from the phone?
The power and volume keys are moving parts and are subject to manufacturing limitations.
This means they are not entirely uniform. This issue is not considered a fault unless
performance is affected.

2.1.10 paint has rubbed off my gray/coffee phone, leaving white
marks visible. Why?
All phones are checked thoroughly for cosmetic defects before they are shipped.
Paint near micro-USB connectors, headset sockets, SIM card trays and pin holes is susceptible
to scraping. Paint on the phone's rear housing can be rubbed off when the phone is placed on a
table or in pockets.
The above issues are common to all dark-colored metal phone housings and are not
considered faults unless they affect the functioning of the phone.

2.1.11 rear cover on the phone bends when pressed. Why?
The thickness of phone batteries varies with charge. By design, there is a safety gap between
the battery and rear cover. If the rear cover is pressed, there will be some movement, but this
is entirely normal. Please rest assured that all Huawei phones must pass strict quality checks
before they are shipped.

2.1.12 tempered glass screen protective film has an uneven surface.
Why?
Screens are rigorously checked for defects before shipping. The phone features a Corning
Gorilla Glass 3 screen which is highly scratch-resistant and can withstand ordinary scrapes
and knocks.Additional screen protective film is not required.
If the issue persists even when the official Huawei super-thin (0.2 mm thick) tempered glass
screen protective film is used, users should take their phone to a Huawei service center where
the official Huawei protective film can be applied by a technician.

2.1.13 After some use, the phone's front and rear covers have
dents. Why?
1. Huawei phones comply with industry quality standards and are checked rigorously before
they are shipped.

2. The rear cover is made of aluminum alloy, which can be dented by hard impacts. It is
recommended that you use a protective phone case.

2.1.14 What do I do if the phone's rear camera is cracked or
scratched?
Ask the user if the rear camera was damaged at the time of purchase or if it became damaged
after use. If the latter is the case, any breakages, cracks or scratches the user finds on the rear
camera lens after leaving the place of purchase are considered to be caused by the user and
will not be covered by warranty. The user should take the phone to an authorized Huawei
service center for repair.
It is recommended that a protective cover is used for the phone. The user must keep the phone
away from sharp objects (such as keys and sand etc), and avoid pressing the phone hard.
The phone's rear camera lens is made of Corning tempered glass. After surface treatment, it
has a Moh hardness of ≥ 7, and a pencil hardness of 1 kgf > 9 H. All our lenses have gone
undergone strict inspections to ensure durability and resist scratches from daily usage.
However, sharp and hard can objects could still break or crack the lens.

warranty.
2.1.15 Why is there a big gap between the battery cover and the
structure of the phone, and between the screen and the front
cover?
Due to thermal expansion and contraction and production stability, it is impossible to achieve
a zero gap or absolute evenness.
The industry standard gap is smaller than or equal to 0.3 mm and Huawei's standard is smaller
than or equal to 0.2 mm.
To save going to a service center, please first try inserting two pieces of A4 paper into the gap.
If you cannot insert two pieces of A4 paper, then the gap is smaller than 0.2 mm, because the
thickness of a standard sheet of A4 paper is 0.1 mm. Therefore, the gap complies with the
Huawei standard (0.2 mm) and you can rest assured. If two sheets ofA4 paper can be inserted
into the gap, take your phone to an authorized Huawei service center and check whether there
is a quality problem.
2.1.16 Why is there a step difference between the antenna slot on
the side of the battery cover?
Before being colored, the surface of the battery cover is polished and electrolyzed. As a result
of the electrolyzation, the cover metal part will be lower than the plastic part, hence the step
difference.
Huawei has strict quality control regarding such step differences to ensure they comply with
Huawei's standards of less than 0.05 mm. Please rest assured.
This is a normal phenomenon, which is not covered by warranty.
