Getting to know your phone
Thank you for choosing the HUAWEI smartphone.
First, et's take a ook at a few basics.
Press and ho d the power button to power on your phone. After
your phone is powered up, you can use the power button to turn
the screen off and on.

Preparing your phone
To insert a SIM card, the battery and a microSD card p ease
perform the few steps shown in the fo owing figures.
Your phone is shipped with the battery part ia y charged. It is
recommended that you fu y charge the battery before using it
for the first t ime.

Dua -Card Management
Your mobi e phone supports access to both WCDMA and GSM
networks. Fo ow the onscreen instruct ions or the quick start
guide to insta SIM cards.

Locking and un ocking the
screen
When you are not using your phone, press the power button to
turn off the screen.
After being id e for a specified period of t ime, your phone ocks
its screen automat ica y.

screen or open an app ication.

On the home screen, touch > to open

Touch the tab page to group your contacts for easier
management.

Adding a photo or audio c ip to a text message turns it into a

Touch to take a photo. Frame the scene and touch
to record a video.

Listening to music
On the home screen, touch > to open
Play Music.
You can copy songs to your phone and immerse yourse f with
extraordinary audio experience anyt ime.

Surfing the web
On the home screen, touch > to open
Browser
.
You can start surfing the web right away using your phone's
browser and stay on ba with up-to-date news and informat ion.
Your browser supports mu t i-page browsing. Touch to
switch between pages.

Persona information and data
security
The use of some funct ions or third-party app ications on your
device cou d resu t in your persona informat ion and data being
ost or becoming accessib e to others. Severa measures are
recommended to he p you protect persona and confident ia
informat ion.
P ace your device in a safe area to prevent it from
unauthorized use.
Set your device screen to ock and create a password or
un ock pattern to open it.
Periodica y back up persona informat ion kept on your
SIM/USIM card, memory card, or stored in your device
memory. If you change to a different device, be sure to
move or de ete any persona informat ion on your o d device.
If you are worried about viruses when you receive messages
or emai s from a stranger, you can de ete them without
opening them.
If you use your device to browse the Internet, avoid websites
that might pose a security risk to avoid theft of your
persona information.
If you use services such as Wi-Fi tether or B uetooth, set
passwords for these services to prevent unauthorized access.
When these services are not in use, turn them off.
Insta or upgrade device security software and regu ar y
scan for viruses.
Be sure to obtain third-party app icat ions from a egitimate
source. Down oaded third-party app icat ions shou d be
scanned for viruses.
Insta security software or patches re eased by Huawei or
third-party app icat ion providers.

Some app icat ions require and transmit ocation
informat ion. As a resu t, a third-party may be ab e to share
your ocation informat ion.
Your device may provide detect ion and diagnostic
informat ion to third-party app icat ion providers. Third party
vendors use this informat ion to improve their products and
services.

Safety information
This sect ion contains important informat ion about the
operat ion of your device. It a so contains informat ion about
how to use the device safe y. Read this informat ion carefu y
before using your device.
E ectronic device
Do not use your device if using the device is prohibited. Do not
use the device if doing so causes danger or interference with
other e ectronic devices.
Interference with medica equipment
Fo ow ru es and regu ations set forth by hospita s and
hea th care faci ities. Do not use your device where
prohibited.
Some wire ess devices may affect the performance of
hearing aids or pacemakers. Consu t your service provider
for more informat ion.
Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum
distance of 15 cm be maintained between a device and a
pacemaker to prevent potentia interference with the
pacemaker. If using a pacemaker, ho d the device on the side
opposite the pacemaker and do not carry the device in your
front pocket.
Protect ing your hearing when using a headset
To prevent possib e hearing damage, do not

symptoms, such as red spots and darker pigmentation, may

Using an unapproved or incompatib e power adapter,
charger or battery may cause fire, exp osion or other

the device manufacturer. The use of any other types of

regu at ions and aws, and may be dangerous. P ease contact
your retai er for informat ion about the avai abi ity of
approved accessories in your area.
Charger safety
For p uggab e devices, the socket-out et sha be insta ed
near the devices and sha be easi y accessib e.
Unp ug the charger from e ectrica out ets and the device
when not in use.
Do not drop or cause an impact to the charger.
If the power cab e is damaged (for examp e, the cord is
exposed or broken), or the p ug oosens, stop using it at once.
Continued use may ead to e ectric shocks, short circuits, or
fire.
Do not touch the power cord with wet hands or pu the
power cord to disconnect the charger.
