About This Document
This guide is intended for technicians who install the HUAWEI TP1102 uni-screen (TP1102
uni-screen for short) and HUAWEI TP1102 dual-screen (TP1102 dual-screen for short)
telepresence systems.
The TP1102 uni-screen and TP1102 dual-screen have the following components:
lThe TP1102 uni-screen has one rack and one high definition (HD) display (55-inch or 65-
inch).

Countersunk
screw
The heads of common screws protrude from the surface objects into which
they are driven, resulting in an uneven surface finish. Countersunk screws'
heads are shaped to be driven into a recess on the surface of the object to

1 Installation Precautions
When installing the telepresence system, strictly follow the precautions and safety instructions
in this guide.
General Precautions
lWhen performing operations, obey the local safety laws and regulations. The safety
precautions detailed in this guide are supplementary to the local safety regulations.
lWhen installing the telepresence system, strictly follow the precautions and safety
instructions in this guide.
lOnly trained and qualified personnel should install, replace, or service the telepresence
system.
Electrical Safety
lThe installation of AC power supply devices must be done in accordance with the local
safety regulations. Only personnel qualified to perform high voltage AC operations should
install AC power supply devices.
lDuring operations, do not wear any conductors such as metal watches, chains, bracelets,
or rings.
lIsolate the power supply before installing or removing power cables.
lBefore connecting power cables, verify that the labels on the connected cables match those
on the connectors to which they are connected.
lUse the correct, special-purpose tools to perform high voltage AC operations. Do not use
general purpose tools, or your own tools.
ESD
Electrostatic charge builds up on your body when you move, rub against cloth, walk across the
floor, or hold plastic items. The charge will then remain until it discharges by either gradually
leaking away to ground or in a fast discharge spark. Before touching any of the devices or tools,
ensure that you are wearing an ESD wrist strap and that the strap's other end is properly grounded
to prevent electrostatic discharge from damaging sensitive components.
Working at Height
lBefore working at height, inspect all lifting devices.

lBefore working at height, take safety protection measures, including wearing a helmet and
protective gloves.
lWhen working at height, keep operation tools and devices with you at all times to prevent
them from falling.
lWhen working at height, maintain balance to prevent yourself from falling.
Sharp Edges
Wear safety gloves when moving and lifting the system to mitigate the risk of cutting your hands
on the system’s sharp edges.
Signal Cable Bundling
Signal cables must be bundled separately from heavy-current or high-voltage cables. The
minimum distance between bundles is 150 mm.

To unpack and install the telepresence system safely and quickly, have the following tools ready
in advance:

2.2 Packing List
This section describes the TP1102 packing list.
The TP1102 uni-screen and TP1102 dual-screen have the following differences in their packing
lists:
lThe TP1102 uni-screen has one component carton and one HD display carton.
lThe TP1102 dual-screen has two component cartons (containing two interface boxes) and
two HD display cartons.
A component carton contains multiple sub-cartons, and each sub-carton contains multiple
components. A label on a side of each carton contains the following information:

2.3 Unpacking Check
To ensure that all the components are intact following shipping and that the telepresence system
can be successfully installed, you must unpack the cartons and check the items inside before
acceptance.
Conduct the unpacking check in the following sequence:
1. Check the wooden or paper carton before opening it.
2. Unpack the carton.

3. Conduct the acceptance check.
Pre-unpacking Check
CAUTION
lEnsure that products or components do not collide with the door, wall, or cargo shelf during
transportation.
lDo not touch the unpainted metal surfaces of the equipment or components during
transportation, carrying, or installation if you are wearing a pair of sweaty or dirty gloves.
Table 2-5 lists the items requiring inspection before the carton is unpacked.

If all the items meet the criteria set out in Table 2-5, unpack the cartons for acceptance. If any
carton is severely damaged or soaked, or any equipment is rusty or soaked, do not unpack the
carton. Trace the causes and feed back to the supply chain.
Unpacking a Wooden Carton
Wooden cartons are usually used to package heavy components such as racks and bases. A
wooden carton consists of wooden boards, angle steel, tongues, and foam wrap angles.
CAUTION
lA wooden carton must not be placed upside down; otherwise, the products inside may be
damaged.
lIt is recommended that you unpack wooden cartons at or near the installation site to prevent
damage to the equipment that may occur when carrying it without the protection of the carton.
lWhen moving the equipment, hold the solid parts of the rack, such as the holder or framework,
to prevent any damage to the rack or any accident. Do not hold the beam of the holder.

CAUTION
Carton No. 5 contains fragile screen-sealing glass that leans against one of the inner sides. You
must remove the wooden side board as illustrated in the figures.
1. Insert one end of the wrench into the tongue hole on the wooden board cover, and bend the
wrench to pull the tongue straight, as shown in Figure 2-1. You can also use a screwdriver
rather than the wrench.

2. Pull all the tongues on the cover straight, and remove the cover, as shown in Figure 2-2.

3. Pull all tongues on the side board of the wooden carton straight, as shown in Figure 2-3,
and remove the side board.

4. Dismantle the rack's lining board.
5. Carry the equipment to the installation site.
Unpacking a Paper Carton
Paper cartons usually contain cables, boards, and codecs. It is recommended that one person be
responsible for each carton, and check the unpacked carton to ensure that all items inside are
unpacked. Use a paper carton containing boards as an example, as shown in Figure 2-4.

To unpack a paper carton:
1. Check the carton label for the type and quantity of boards inside.
2. Cut the packaging strap with diagonal pliers.
3. Cut the pressure-sensitive tape along the sealing joint on the carton cover with a utility
knife.
CAUTION
Do not insert the utility knife too deeply; components inside may get scratched.
4. Unpack the paper carton, and remove the foam boards.
5. Check whether the items inside the carton are consistent with those on the Packing List,
and take out the board boxes.
6. Check the type and quantity of items inside the carton according to the Packing List, and
sign for acceptance.

Precautions for Unpacking the Boards
WARNING
Electronic circuits can be easily damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Wear an ESD wrist
strap that is properly grounded when handling components such as boards and touch only the
edges of the components.
Boards are transported inside ESD bags. Pay attention to the following items when unpacking
the boards.
lAdopt antistatic measures to protect the equipment from ESD damage.
lNote the influence of temperature and relative humidity. An ESD bag usually has a
desiccant sachet in it, which absorbs moisture in the air inside the bag, keeping the inside
of the bag dry.
After the equipment is moved from an environment with lower temperature and relative
humidity to somewhere with higher temperature and relative humidity, wait for at least 30
minutes before unpacking the equipment. Otherwise, moisture will be condensed on the
equipment surface, causing damage to the equipment.
To unpack the boards:
1. Check the package for obvious damage.
2. Wear an ESD wrist strap.
3. Unpack the boards, and check them for damage.
For boards that are already unpacked, do the following:
lTo install a board immediately, place the board on an ESD surface to discharge any static
electricity that has built up, and then install the board.
lTo install a board later, package the board with its original packing materials, and store the
board in a cool and dry environment out of direct sunlight and without strong
electromagnetic interference.
Post-Unpacking Acceptance
To check and accept the equipment after a carton is unpacked:
1. Check the type and quantity of the equipment inside the carton according to the Packing
List, and sign onsite to accept the equipment.
2. If any items are missing or wrong, fill in the Cargo Shortage and Miscarriage Report.
3. If any damage is found, fill in the Cargo Replacement Application Form. Meanwhile, the
process supervisor must fill in the Cargo Shortage and Miscarriage Report, and report to
the local branch office within three days.
4. If any items are inconsistent with those stipulated, store the unpacked equipment indoors,
photograph the storage environment, rusty or corrupted equipment, cartons, and packing
materials, and archive the pictures. Cartons and packing materials must also be properly
stored.
5. After all the items in a carton are taken out, check that the carton is empty, and then proceed
to unpack the next carton.
