HUAWEI TE40&TE50&TE60 Videoconferencing Endpoint
Quick Installation Guide

What's in the Box (TE60)
HD-VI cable (1)

Power cable (1) Network cable (1)
Used for main video input, this cable
connects the HD-VI ports on the endpoint
and HUAWEI VPC620 or VPC600.
DVI-HDMI cable (1)
DVI-VGA cable (1)
DVI-S-Video/VGA/CVBS cable (1)
This cable provides two male connectors, one
connecting to the endpoint's video output port
and one to a display device's HDMI port.
This cable provides two male connectors. It
is recommended that this cable be used to
connect the endpoint's presentation input port
to a presentation input source (a computer for
example).
This cable provides one DVI male
connector and one S-Video/VGA/CVBS
female connector. It transmits S-Video,
VGA, or CVBS signals to display devices
that support these signals.

S-Video/RCA cable (1)
Mounting ear (2) and screw (4)
This cable provides one DVI male connector
and one S-Video/HDMI/CVBS female
connector. It transmits S-Video, HDMI, or
CVBS signals to display devices that support
these signals.
The red and white RCA connectors connect
to external audio output devices (speakers for
example).
The yellow S-Video connectors are used for
S-Video signal input and output.
Mounting ears: Secure the endpoint to a
cabinet.
Screws: Attach the mounting ears to the
endpoint.

The item pictures are for your reference only. The cables in the box can be used only with the endpoint in the same box.

Installation
The voltage inside the endpoint is high. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover on your own. Follow the
instructions of a professional engineer.
The TE60, TE50, and TE40 have the same dimensions: H x W x D = 61.5 mm x 435 mm x 265.5 mm (2.42 in. x 17.13 in. x
10.45 in.). The installation instructions for these three endpoint models are also the same. The typical installation option is
horizontal placement.
Horizontal Placement
Place the endpoint on a flat tabletop and connect the cables.
Placement in a Cabinet
Ensure that the cabinet is a 19-inch cabinet compliant with IEC 60297, for example, the HUAWEI N68E-22 cabinet.
Reserve at least 2 U (2 U = 88.9 mm/3.5 in.) space above the endpoint for heat dissipation.
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the base by loosening the four screws holding it in place.

2. Remove the rubber pads at the four corners of the bottom.
3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, attach the mounting ears to the sides of the endpoint as shown.
4. Slide the endpoint into the cabinet and use screws through the mounting ears to hold the endpoint in place.
The screws in this step are not provided.

Connecting Cables
The cable connections shown in the following are recommended. The illustrations are for your reference only.
TE60
The VGAcable is not provided with the endpoint.
The HD-AI cable is provided with a microphone.

TE50

One VGAcable is provided with the endpoint. It is connected to the VGA/YPbPr input or output port.
The HD-AI cable is provided with a microphone.
TE40

One VGAcable is provided with the endpoint. It is connected to the VGA/YPbPr input or output port.

Loading the Configuration File
Using a USB Device
The endpoint automatically loads the configuration file on a USB device, such as a USB flash drive. After the configuration
file is loaded, the endpoint should work properly.
The USB device is provided by your operator or Huawei's reseller or service engineers. Huawei's service engineers provide
the configuration file, which you must not modify unless requested to do so.
To load the configuration file on the USB device:
1. Use the USB configuration tool to import the configuration file to a USB device. For details, see the HUAWEI
TE40&TE50&TE60 Videoconferencing Endpoint Deployment Guide.
2. Insert the USB device into the endpoint's USB port.
3. In the displayed dialog box, select Yes.
4. Using the remote control, enter the administrator password, which is 12345678 by default.
The endpoint automatically loads the configuration file and restarts.
If the endpoint is powered on for the first time and you do not operate it for 10 seconds, the endpoint also automatically loads the
configuration file and restarts.
5. After the restart is complete, remove the USB device.
