Installation and Maintenance Instructions.
THESE INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE READ FULLY BEFORE COMMENCING INSTALLATION.
Owner / installer: The life of this apparatus and its eciency will be increased if
its use and maintenance is carried out in accordance with these instructions and
current statutory requirements. The installation and initial adjustments should
be carried out by a qualied and competent technician. Hydor Limited should be
consulted before substituting or tting parts from another manufacturer. It is the
responsibility of the installer to verify that the installation is in accordance with all
current statutory requirements and the owner is given the current User’s Manual.
1. General
1.1 It is important these Installation and Maintenance Instructions are fully
adhered to.
1.2 These instructions cover only the Hydor product.
1.3 The Baes are designed to t onto the fan cases.
1.4 Baes are specically sized the t the range of HV Belt Drive fans.
1.5 Baes are constructed of galvanised or Aluzinc steel cases with black
polypropylene corrugated vanes.
1.6 Baes can be tted to both internal and external faces of the fan,
depending on the situation, and can reduce light ingress from 150,000 lux
to 0.1-0.15 lux.
1.7 This product is not intended for use by young children or inrm persons
unless they have been adequately supervised by a responsible person.
Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the cover.
WARNING: The fan must be isolated from the power supply when the
 Baeisbeinginstalled.

3. Installation
3.1 Ensure that the fan is switched o and isolated from the supply.
3.2 Particular attention should be paid if the fan system involved automatic
controls.
3.3 The Bae has the same external dimensions as the case of the HV fan.
3.4 Across the top is a “hanger” and a “hook” must be xed to the
top edge of fan, either on the internal or the external surface, depending
on whether the Bae is to be tted internally or externally.
3.5 The “hook” along with the necessary xing rivets is supplied with
the bae.

3.6 The Bae should now be hung on the “hanger”. It is retained by two over-
centre clips, one on each side.
3.7 Two retainers are supplied with the Bae, and these must be tted to the
sides of the fan casing. Rivets are supplied.
3.8 These retainers must be xed so the retaining clips, when closed, are in
tension, so retaining the Bae securely against the fan casing.
3.9 With the Bae now securely xed the fan can now be operated either
manually or automatically, if controls are tted.
4. Maintenance
4.1 The Light Bae should be regularly inspected for the security of xings
every time maintenance is carried out on the fans.
4.2 The complete Unit should be removed and inspected for dust and dirt
build-up between the black plastic bae blades.
4.3 These must be kept clear, as any build up of dust will reduce the free
area of the air-ow and increase the resistance to the air-ow, decreasing
the eciency and performance of the fan.
4.4 Any dust should be removed by either high pressure air or high pressure
water being blown between each blade.
4.5 The casing has drain holes in the bottom, so the water will drain away.
4.6 Allow to dry, before retting the Light Bae Unit to the fan, making sure it
is securely retained.

Guarantee
Hydor or its agents will, within a period of one year from the date of dispatch
from their works, at its option, replace any goods, which are proven to have
defects as a result of defective materials or workmanship. The goods must be
inspected by a Hydor ocial and if necessary returned, with a Returns Note
Number, carriage paid, for further examination.
