BASIC DESCRIPTION
The APCETHD is designed to control humidity, temperature and CO2. The controller has four (4)
receptacles and a remote combinaon probe with highly accurate temperature, humidity and light
sensors. The remote combinaon sensor is designed to quickly react to changes in the growing area
and to resist EMI/EFI from electronic ballasts. The remote sensor can be placed up to 15 feet from the
controller.
INSTALLATION
1. Secure the unit to a wall.
2. Determine the best locaon for the remote probe. Place the probe in an area with good air
movement preferably at plant height. Avoid placing the probe in direct sunlight or under direct
HID lighng.
CAUTION: Do not place the sensor probe where it will come in to contact with water. The unit is
not waterproof!
3. The remote probe has a quick disconnect to easily remove or connect the probe. Secure the quick
disconnect to the unit by securing the QD screw to the unit.
4. Plug the power cable into a standard NEMA 5-15 wall outlet. A 120V power supply is required.
5. Ensure that all of the devices being connected to the controller have the proper voltage and will
not exceed the maximum amperage rang of this unit.
Note: Now is the me to customize your sengs prior to connecng any equipment.
PHOTOCELL SENSITIVITY
The sensivity of the photocell may be adjusted.
Press both ENTER/RESET and UP buons and hold for 3 seconds. The current photocell seng will be
displayed. Press UP to increase the number displayed and the sensivity (requires less light to acvate
photocell). Press DOWN to decrease the number and the sensivity (requires more light to acvate
photocell). Press ENTER/RESET to accept the change.
BUTTON FUNCTIONS
The een (15) buons located on the front face control all the funcons. Pressing each buon will
display a funcon and/or current seng(s) in the green LED window. Some buons perform more
than one funcon.
Several small green LED lights or status indicators located on the front panel will light up to show
selected funcon when certain buons are pressed.
UP - Press buon to increase seng
DOWN - Press buon to decrease seng
ENTER/RESET -
Press buon, hold for 3 seconds to ENTER new seng and to reset the Min/Max range.
TEMPERATURE BUTTONS
DAYTIME SETTING - Press buon to set day temperature seng.
NIGHT SETTING - Press buon to set night temperature seng.

DEADBAND - Press buon to set the temperature deadband seng.

HUMIDITY SETTING - Press buon to set Day and Night humidity Sengs.
HUMIDITY MODE - Press buon to select the humidicaon (rH Incr) or de-humidicaon (rH decr)
mode.
DEADBAND - Press buon to set the humidity deadband seng.
CO2BUTTONS
CO2Mode - Press buon to change the CO2 Mode. Selecng dAYlocK will disable the CO2 output when
the Cooling output is turned on (exhaust fans are running) Selecng dAYFrEE will allow the CO2and
Cooling outputs to be on at the same me. Use this mode if you are using air condioning to cool.
CO2 ON me - Press this buon to set the amount of me the CO2 output will be turned ON for. CO2
will be released or produced during this me.
CO2 OFF me - Press this buon to set the amount of me the CO2 output will be turned OFF for. The
CO2 device will remain turned OFF during this me.
NOTE: The CO2 mer can also be used as a standard DAYTIME recycling mer if it is not used as a
CO2 mer. (Select dAYFrEE mode)
SPLIT MODE BUTTONS
TEMP/HUMIDITY LOCK - Press buon to lock or split the humidity and temperature funcons. The
user has the opon to run both at the same me or independently.
MIN/MAXIMUM TEMP - Press this buon to recall the stored high and low recorded levels for
Temperature. Press and hold the ENTER/RESET buon while the recorded value is displayed to reset
the Min/Max values.
MIN/MAXIMUM HUMIDITY - Press this buon to recall the stored high and low recorded levels for
Humidity. Press and hold the ENTER/RESET buon while the recorded value is displayed to reset the
Min/Max values.
NOTE: To change the temperature reading from F to C, press and hold both the UP and DOWN
buons simultaneously for 2-3 seconds.
ERROR LEDS
The APCETHD is smart enough to monitor the temperature and humidity levels and to alert the user to
a problem with any of the devices connected to the APCETHD. Here is how it works.
As the unit funcons normally, the environmental condions (temp & humidity) will be slowly but
steadily changing. These small changes are detected by the controller.
If the controller does not detect a slight change in one (or more) environmental condions within a
1-hour period, the unit will de-acvate the aected output and the appropriate green error LED will be

ashing to indicate which device may have a problem.
This safety feature is extremely important and useful to eliminate “runaway” condions which could
result in crop damage or other more serious problems.
If any of the error LEDs are blinking, the user should refer to the example below to help idenfy the
actual cause of the error.
EXAMPLE: If the Cooling error LED is ashing, it means that the device connected to the Cooling
output either did not turn on OR that there is a problem with the temperature sensor. Check the
cooling device for proper operaon and verify that the remote sensor is reading properly.
NOTE: To reset an error, press the ENTER/RESET buon.
FACTORY SETTINGS
The APCETHD comes pre-programmed with factory sengs. These sengs may be adjusted by the
user. For best results, verify changes aer adjusng any sengs. The controller can be easily reset to
factory sengs. (See below)

RESET FACTORY SETTINGS - Press and hold the ENTER/RESET and DOWN buons together for 3
seconds. The display will read f.Set. Press the ENTER/RESET buon again to restore the factory default
sengs. When the factory reset is complete, the unit will say donE.
NOTE: To change the temperature reading from F to C, press and hold the UP and DOWN buons
for 2-3 seconds.
OVERVIEW

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE SETTINGS
UP - Press buon to increase seng
DOWN - Press buon to decrease seng
ENTER/RESET - Press buon, hold for 3 seconds to restart mer or to adjust the seng. The mer will
always start in the “ON” cycle.
TEMPERATURE DISPLAY - Press and hold both the UP and DOWN buon for 3 seconds to change
display. C for Celsius and F for Fahrenheit.
DAYTIME SETTING - To set the Day temperature press the TEMP DAYTIME SETTING, dAY__F will be
displayed. To change sengs press the UP and DOWN buons. Press ENTER to accept new seng.
NIGHT SETTING - To set the Night temperature press TEMP NIGHT SETTING buon, Nit__F will be
displayed. To change sengs press the UP and DOWN buons. Press ENTER to accept new seng.
TEMP DEADBAND – Press this buon to change the Temp deadband. To set the deadband, press
TEMP DEAD BAND. d.b_ _ _F will be displayed. To change sengs, press the UP and DOWN buons.
Press ENTER to accept new seng.
HUMIDITY SETTING - There is a day humidity seng and a night humidity seng.
• To set the daytime humidity, press the HUMIDITY SETTING button. day_rH will be displayed.
Press the UP or DOWN button to change daytime humidity setting. Press ENTER to accept new
setting.
• To set the nighttime humidity, press the HUMIDITY SETTING button a second time nit_rH will be
displayed. Press the UP or DOWN button to change the nighttime humidity setting. Press ENTER
to accept new setting.
HUMIDITY MODE – Use this buon to select humidify or dehumidify. Press Humidity mode and the
display will read the current seng, either humidify (rH Incr) or dehumidify (rH dEcr). Press the UP
and DOWN buons to change the seng. Press ENTER to accept new seng.
HUMIDITY DEADBAND - Pressing HUMIDITY DEAD BAND will display the current seng. Press the
UP or DOWN buons to change the seng. Press ENTER to accept new seng.
CO2ON TIME - To change the mer sengs, press the UP or DOWN buon to change hours seng
(le 2 digits) then press ENTER to change to the minutes (center 2 digits), use UP or DOWN to change,
then press ENTER to advance to the seconds seng (right 2 digits). Pressing ENTER a nal me accepts
the new sengs.
CO2OFF TIME - Repeat the procedure above to change the CO2 OFF mer sengs.
TEMP/HUMIDITY LOCK - Use this funcon to interlock (COnnEct) or split (SPLit) humidity and
temperature. Press Temp/humidity lock buon to display the seng. Press the UP and DOWN buons
to change the seng. Press ENTER to accept new seng.
1. Select connect (COnnEct) if using venlang fans only for cooling and removing humidity. The
fan will turn on when the sensor detects a rise above the seng in either the humidity or
temperature.
2. Select split (SPLit) if using a venlang fan or AC unit as a cooling device and a dehumidier to
remove humidity. Each device is controlled independently. The cooling device will turn on when
the temperature rises above the seng and the dehumidier will turn on when the humidity rises
above the seng.

3. Select split (SPLit) if using a fan or AC unit as a cooling device and a humidier to add humidity.
Each device is controlled independently. The cooling device will turn on when the temperature
rises above the seng and the humidier will turn on when the humidity goes below the seng.
MIN/MAXIMUM TEMP - Press to “recall” or display the minimum and maximum temperature
recorded values. Each me the buon is pressed, the next seng will be displayed.
MIN/MAXIMUM HUMIDITY - Press to “recall” or display the minimum and maximum humidity
recorded values. Each me the buon is pressed, the next seng will be displayed.
TO RESET THE MIN/MAX VALUES – When the recorded value is displayed, press the ENTER/RESET
buon and hold for 3 seconds.
Q & A
• What if my temperature is reading high? Make sure the remote probe is not in direct lighting
from HID lights or sunlight.
• Do I need to calibrate my humidity sensor? No. Like the temperature sensor, the humidity
sensor is digital and does not require calibration.
• Why is the display reading Err SEn? The remote probe is not connected and/or communicating
with the controller. Check the quick-connect cable and that the remote probe is getting power.
Contact the factory for more info.
• What if one of the small green error LEDs are on? One or more environmental conditions are
not acting correctly. Refer to the Error LEDs sections to diagnose the problem.
• What if the CO2timer is not keeping correct time? The battery may need to be replaced. The
lithium battery has an average life of 5 years. Battery is a lithium CR1220 3 volt.
• What if there is no power? Reset the power switch (circuit breaker). If the problem continues,
reduce the number of devices connected or use a power multiplier / expander to control devices
with larger amperage.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE
1. Save these instrucons. These safety and operang instrucons must be kept in a safe place for
future reference.
2. Heed all warnings. All warnings on this product and in the instrucons must be observed closely.
3. Follow all instrucons. All operang instrucons must be followed.
4. If the instrucons as provided by the manufacturer are not followed, damage to the product may result.
5. Install your controller at least 8 feet away from any devices that produce large amounts of
electronic noise, such as electronic ballasts or ozone generators.

6. The symbol on the enclosure represents that the receptacle beside it may have an output
voltage, which can be dangerous. The output voltages are the same as the input voltage. This
receptacle can only be inserted with standard Nema 1-15P and Nema 5-15P plugs. Don’t insert
any other plug in it.
7. Do not use this controller near water. For example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, or
laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, and the like. The controller should not
be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects lled with liquids, such as vases, should be
placed on this product. The product is not waterproof or shock-proof.
8. Any factory-serviceable spare parts of the product can only be checked or replaced by the
manufacturer or authorized agencies. An unauthorized person is NEVER allowed to open the
enclosure.
9. If the power cable insulaon is broken, please stop using the product! Immediately unplug the
unit and contact the retailer you purchased it from.
10. The product is equipped with a circuit breaker for short circuit or overcurrent situaons. The
circuit breaker will automacally shut down the product at once. All outlets of the product have a
safety ground.
11. Do not install the enclosure near any heat source.
12. Do not block any venlaon openings.
13. This product is a Safety Class I Controller. The main plug should be inserted in a power socket
outlet only if provided with a protecve earth contact. Any interrupon of the protecve
conductor inside or outside of the product is likely to make the product dangerous and is
prohibited.

DESCRIPCIÓN BÁSICA
El APCETHD está diseñado para controlar la humedad, la temperatura y el CO
2
. El controlador ene cuatro (4)
receptáculos y una sonda remota combinada que incluyen unos sensores de temperatura, de humedad y de luz de
gran precisión. Este sensor remoto combinado está diseñado para reaccionar rápidamente a los cambios de la zona
de culvo y para resisr a la interferencia electromagnéca (EMI/EFI) de los balastos electrónicos. El sensor remoto
puede colocarse hasta a 4,5 m del controlador.
INSTALACIÓN
1. Fije la unidad a la pared.
2. Determine la mejor ubicación para la sonda remota. Colóquela en una zona con buena aireación y
preferiblemente a la altura de las plantas. Evite exponer la sonda a la luz solar directa o lámparas
de descarga de alta intensidad (HID).
PRECAUCIÓN: No coloque la sonda en lugares expuestos al agua. Esta unidad no es sumergible.
3. La sonda incluye un disposivo de desconexión rápida para poderla conectar y desconectar con
facilidad. Fije el disposivo de desconexión rápida (QD) a la unidad con el tornillo que incluye el
disposivo.
4. Enchufe el cable de alimentación a una toma de corriente NEMA 5-15 estándar. Se necesita una
fuente de alimentación de 120V.
5. Compruebe que todos los disposivos que van a ser conectados al controlador enen el voltaje
adecuado y no sobrepasan la intensidad máxima de esta unidad.
6. Nota: Antes de conectar un equipo es recomendable congurar la unidad.
SENSIBILIDAD DE LA FOTORRESISTENCIA
La sensibilidad de la fotorresistencia puede regularse.
Mantenga pulsados los botones ENTER/RESET y UP durante 3 segundos. Aparecerá la conguración actual de la
fotorresistencia. Pulse UP para aumentar el número mostrado y, por lo tanto, la sensibilidad (la fotorresistencia
necesitará menos luz para acvarse). Pulse DOWN para disminuir el número mostrado y, por lo tanto, la
sensibilidad (la fotorresistencia necesitará más luz para acvarse). Pulse ENTER/RESET para aceptar los cambios.
BOTONES DE FUNCIÓN
Existen quince (15) botones localizados en el frontal de la unidad y que regulan sus funciones. Al pulsar cada uno de
ellos se acvará la función y/o conguración actual en la pantalla verde de LED. Algunos botones llevan a cabo más
de una función.
Los pequeños LED verdes o indicadores de estado ubicados en el panel frontal se iluminarán para indicar la
conguración seleccionada después de pulsar ciertos botones.
UP - Pulse este botón para aumentar los valores establecidos
DOWN - Pulse este botón para disminuir los valores establecidos
ENTER/RESET - Mantenga pulsado este botón durante 3 segundos para ENTER (INTRODUCIR) una nueva
conguración o para RESET (RESTABLECER) los valores Min/Max.

MIN/MAXIMUM TEMP - Pulse este botón para recuperar los valores de temperatura máximos y mínimos
registrados. Mantenga pulsado el botón ENTER/RESET mientras el valor registrado se muestra en la pantalla para
restablecer los valores Min/Max.
MIN/MAXIMUM HUMIDITY - Pulse este botón para recuperar los valores de humedad máximos y mínimos
registrados. Mantenga pulsado el botón ENTER/RESET mientras el valor registrado se muestra en la pantalla para
restablecer los valores Min/Max.
NOTA: Para cambiar la temperatura mostrada de F a C, mantenga pulsados simultáneamente los botones UP y
DOWN durante 2-3 segundos.
INDICADORES LED DE ERROR
El APCETHD es capaz de controlar la temperatura y los niveles de humedad y avisar al usuario de que existe un
problema con alguno de los disposivos conectados al APCETHD. Funcionamiento:
Si la unidad funciona con normalidad, los estados ambientales (temperatura y humedad) cambian de forma lenta
pero regular. Estos pequeños cambios son detectados por el controlador.
En el caso de que el controlador no detecte ningún cambio en uno (o más) de los estados ambientales en un
periodo de una hora, la unidad desacvará la salida afectada y el LED verde de error correspondiente parpadeará
para indicar que el disposivo puede tener un problema.
Este sistema de seguridad es muy importante y úl para evitar situaciones de “descontrol” que podrían provocar
daños en los culvos u otros problemas más serios.

Si alguno de los indicadores LED de error parpadea, el usuario debería consultar el ejemplo mostrado a
connuación para idencar la causa del error.
EJEMPLO: Si el LED de error “Cooling” parpadea, signica que el disposivo conectado a la salida de refrig-
eración no está encendido O que el sensor de temperatura ene algún problema. Compruebe que tanto el
disposivo de refrigeración como el sensor remoto funcionan correctamente.
NOTA: Para restablecer la unidad y eliminar un error, pulse el botón ENTER/RESET.
CONFIGURACIÓN PREDETERMINADA
El APCETHD viene programado con los valores de fábrica. Esta conguración puede ser modicada por el
usuario. Para conseguir unos mejores resultados, compruebe los cambios después de ajustar la conguración. El
controlador puede restablecerse con los valores de fábrica de forma sencilla. (Véase más adelante)

Para restablecer los valores de fábrica - Mantenga pulsados el botón ENTER/RESET y el botón down
simultáneamente durante 3 segundos. La pantalla indicará f.Set. Pulse de nuevo el botón ENTER/RESET para
restablecer los valores de fábrica. Una vez los valores de fábrica se hayan restablecido, la unidad mostrará donE.
NOTA: Para cambiar la temperatura mostrada de F a C, mantenga pulsados los botones UP y DOWN durante
2-3 segundos.
INFORMACIÓN GENERAL
• Los botones del APCETHD facilitan los cambios de la configuración.
• Pulse un botón y la pantalla mostrará la configuración actual.
• Para modificarla, utilice los botones UP (arriba) y DOWN (abajo).
• Después, pulse ENTER para aceptar los cambios.
