Preface
Thank you for purchasing the i-bin hygiene15. Please read the important safety information
and user instructions in this manual carefully before using the bin for the first time. This
manual contains important information. Please keep it for future reference.
Purpose of the service manual
The purpose of the user manual is to provide the user with information in such a way that
during its life, the i-bin hygiene is used correctly, efficiently and safely, even in the event of
reasonably foreseeable misuse, as described in section 1.2 of this manual.
The user manual contains instructions regarding:
•Personal operator safety
•Intended and non-intended use of the i-bin hygiene;
•Instructions for daily use
•Maintenance instructions
•Storage conditions
•Disposal of the i-bin hygiene
These instructions must be considered to avoid risks that could lead to physical and/or
material damage.

This user manual is intended for users of the i-bin hygiene15, as well as partners and
importers.

The i-bin hygiene15 may only be operated by a person who has correctly read and understood
the instructions in this manual or is trained by an experienced operator who has read and

1Introduction
The i-bin hygiene15 is a safe, user-friendly machine. This manual helps you to get started and
explains the operation and maintenance procedure. You will be pleasantly surprised by the
fast and effective use of the battery operated i-bin hygiene15.
This manual is intended for those use the i-bin hygiene15 and/or perform daily maintenance.
The manual must be read fully before the first actions. The manual describes the correct
method of use, safety measures, maintenance and transport.
The manufacturer continuously improves all their products based on user experience and
feedback. Any deviations between the texts and/or images from the manual and your
i-bin hygiene15 can therefore arise from the difference in model or from possible changes due
to continuous developments and innovations.
1.1 Intended use of the product
The i-bin hygiene15 is a specialized machine
for storing your hygienic waste.

1.2 Non-intended use of the product
WARNING
Non-intended use can have consequences for the safety of operators and
bystanders and will void the warranty on the product.
•DO NOT immerse the product in water or other liquids and do not rinse under a tap.
•DO NOT place hands or other items in the product during automatic packaging.
•DO NOT put flammable or explosives in the product.

•DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself or disassemble the battery. Doing so will
void your warranty.
•This product is not a toy and should not be used as such.
•DO NOT disassemble or destroy the battery.
1.3 Lifespan
Used in normal circumstances, the battery of the i-bin hygiene15 should last at least 14 days.
CAUTION
To ensure proper and safe operation throughout the life of the i-bin hygiene15, the
product must be checked by an authorized i-team partner every 3 months.
1.4 Modifications
It is not permitted to make modifications to the design of the i-bin hygiene15 without
consultation and permission from the manufacturer. This affects the warranty, see section 1.6
of this manual.

1.6 Warranty
The i-bin hygiene15 should be used as intended and described in this manual. Using the
i-bin hygiene15 outdoors will void the warranty on the product.
1.7 Identification
The serial number and production date can be found on a sticker on the back of the i-bin.

2Description
The compact i-bin hygiene15 consists of three main parts:
•The upper part that contains the foil lid, the working status light and the Indicator light.
•The stand that contains the IR-sensors, the Reset button, the Main switch, the Locking
mechanism and the Detachable base.
•The bottom part, the bin, see Figure 3.
The i-bin hygiene15 consists of:

Indicating
Battery
The Battery indicator light will start flashing when the battery has 15%
remaining. Replace the battery as describe in paragraph 5.2.2.
Foil low
The Foil low indicator will flash when there is foil remaining for only 5
bags. When there is foil remaining for only 2 bags, the i-bin hygiene15 will
stop working, thus preventing waste falling into the bin without sealed in
a bag. The Foil low indicator will be solid red. Replace the foil as
described in paragraph 6.1.
Bin full
The Bin full indicator will flash when the bin is almost full. The bin must
now be emptied to prevent waste from piling up at the top of the
machine.
The i-bin hygiene15 will stop working and the light will be solid red when
the bin is full. Remove and empty the bin as described in paragraph 5.2.2.

3Safety
Safety comes first. Therefore, please take your time to read and understand these safety
instructions. kindly follow the instructions correctly to avoid potential danger or injury.
Improper use can cause harm or void the manufacturer’s warranty.
3.1 General safety instructions
3.1.1 Indoor use
This product is intended for indoor use only.
3.1.2 Users
People with physical or mental disabilities should use the product only under guidance of a
guardian.
The product should only be used by people who are properly trained and have experience
with its usage.
3.1.3 Battery
When charging the battery, always use the cable provided by the manufacturer. Refraining
from doing so might result in fire, an electric shock or personal injury.
ATTENTION
Instead of using a cable when charging, also a special charger unit can be used to
charge multiple batteries. This charger unit is not included and should be ordered
separately.
CAUTION
During normal operation, the 11.1 V battery cause no safety hazard on its own.
Please adhere to the following safety instructions regarding the battery:
•Do not crush, pierce or damage in any way.
•Do not heat or incinerate.
•Do not short-circuit.
•Do not dismantle.
•Keep dry.
•Only charge between 5 °C~40 °C / 41 °F~104 °F.
•Only use between 5 °C~45 °C / 41 °F~113 °F.

3.2 Risks during operation
The i-bin hygiene15 is designed to close and seal bio friendly storage bags. The sealed bags
will drop and collect in a container at the bottom part of the machine.
CAUTION
The sealing mechanism of the i-bin hygiene15 can get very hot. Avoid
touching it.
WARNING
•The chemicals in the battery are located inside a sealed container
•They pose only a chemical hazard only if the battery is not used properly
or damaged.
•Avoid contact with the electrolytes.
•Contact with a damaged or leaking battery can result in chemical burns.
If exposure to any battery chemicals happens, act as follows:
Contact to the eyes:
•flush the eyes with plenty of water for a minimum of 15 minutes, lift the
upper- and lower eyelid occasionally;
•seek medical attention.
Inhalation:
•vacate from the exposure environment and move to an environment with
fresh air immediately;
•seek medical attention.
Ingestion:
•give at least two glasses of milk or water. Induce vomiting unless the
person is unconscious;
•seek medical attention.
3.3 Risks after operation
3.3.1 Remove battery
Remove the battery from the i-bin hygiene15 when it will not be used for 4 days or more.
3.3.2 Careful when storing
Do not store the i-bin hygiene15 on ramps or slopes. Always store the i-bin hygiene15 on a
level, hard surface.

4.1 General
CAUTION
Always store the i-bin hygiene15 in a dry environment.

5Assembly and installation
The i-bin hygiene15 does not require much assembly.
5.1 Unboxing
The i-bin hygiene15 is packed in a single box. Ensure that no items are missing and compare
contents with the list in Figure 4. lf one of the items listed is missing, contact your i-bin
hygiene15 dealer.

5.2 Assembly
5.2.1 Battery
Connect the charger to the battery. For first
use, charge the battery for approximately
5 hrs.

5.2.2 Install the battery
Press the metal handle on either side of the
i-bin hygiene15 down. The locking mechanism
will now release the bin.

Slide the bin out from the stand.

Open the battery compartment with the key
and insert the battery in the slot.

Press the ON/OFF switch to turn on the
machine.

Close the battery compartment and lock with
the key.
Click the bin back into the stand. The magnet,
fitted in the middle of the stand, will hold the
bin in place.

CAUTION
Please be aware of the integrated magnet fitted on the stand of the
i-bin hygiene 15.
5.3 In case of wall mount
CAUTION
Assure the is no electric wiring in the wall where the holes will be drilled.
Use the provided plugs and screws for mounting the i-bin hygiene15 to the wall, Figure 11

ATTENTION
To mark the holes to be drilled in the wall, use the included template.
CAUTION
Assure no electricity cables or water pipes are located at that location where the
i-bin hygiene15 will be installed.

Check if the wall where the i-bin hygiene is
to be placed, is smooth.
Place the template (pos 2, Figure 12) with
the bottom part on the floor. Check with a
water level (pos 1, Figure 12) if the template
is exactly horizontal,

Mark the four holes (Pos 1, Figure 13) on the
template with a hammer and a nail on the
wall. Drill the holes with a drill bit Ø6 mm
(1/4”). Depth 40 mm (1 3/8”),
Push the plugs inside the holes and ensure
they are flush with the wall.

ATTENTION
In order to fix the i-bin hygiene15 to the wall, the bin needs to be removed. Switch
off the machine, see Figure 17. Then follow the steps as indicated at Figure 6 and
Figure 7.

5.4 In case of wall mount with stickers
In case drilling in the wall is not possible, the i-bin hygiene15 can also be attached to the wall
using the provided 3M stickers.
ATTENTION
Prior to fixing the i-bin to the wall, mark with a thin pencil and a spirit level a
vertical line on the wall.
Stick the 3M adhesive sticker onto the
backside of the machine as shown in Figure
15.

6Operation
Check if the i-bin hygiene15 is assembled and installed properly, see paragraph 5.2 and 5.3 or
5.4.
6.1 Install the cassette
Switch off the machine and remove the bin as
described in paragraph 5.2.2.

Lift the top foil lid and remove the empty
cassette (if present).

Place a new foil cassette
Pull about 30 cm (12”) of the foil up and push
it back into the opening of the machine.
