1. Do not depend on any switch as the sole means of disconnecting
powe when installing o se vicing the fan.
2. Always disconnect, lock-out, and tag-out powe sou ce befo e installing
o se vicing. Failu e to disconnect powe sou ce can esult in fi e, shock,
o se ious inju y.
3. Moto will esta t without wa ning afte the mal p otecto t ips. Do not
touch ope ating moto ; it may be hot enough to cause inju y.
4. Do not place body pa ts o objects in fan o moto openings while moto
is connected to the powe sou ce.
5. All elect ical connections should be made by a qualified elect ician.
6. These utility exhaust fans a e fo gene al pu pose exhaust applications
only. Do not use these exhaust fans in an a ea whe e co osive o
explosive mate ials may be found.
7. Follow all local and state/p ovincial elect ical and safety codes in the
United States and Canada, as well as the National Elect ical Code (NEC)
and the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) in the United States,
and the Canadian Elect ic Code (CEC) in Canada.
8. Always disconnect powe sou ce befo e wo king on o nea a moto o its
connected load.
9. P otect the powe cable f om coming in contact with sha p objects.
10. Do not kink o c eate tight bends in the powe cable and neve allow the
cable to come in contact with oil, g ease, hot su faces, o chemicals.
11. Make ce tain that the powe sou ce confo ms to the equi ements of
you specific exhaust fan model. The fan f ame and moto must be
elect ically g ounded to a suitable elect ical g ound, such as a g ounded
wate pipe o g ound wi e system.
12. To educe the isk of inju y to pe sons, please obse ve the following:
In the United States, OSHA compliant gua ds a e equi ed when fan is
installed within 7 feet of the floo o wo king level. In Canada, CSA
compliant gua ds a e equi ed when fan is installed below 2.5 mete s
(8.2 feet) above the floo o g ade level.
