GROUND-FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER (GFCI)
In the event of a ground fault, a GFCI will trip and quickly stop the flow of electricity to prevent serious injury.
Definition of a ground fault:
Instead of following its normal safe path, electricity passes through a person's body to reach the ground. For example, a
defective appliance can cause a ground fault.
A GFCI receptacle does NOT protect against circuit overloads, short circuits, or shocks. For example, you can still be
shocked if you touch bare wires while standing on a non-conducting surface, such as a wood floor.
NOTE:
GFCI's contain a lockout feature that will prevent RESET if:
• There is no power being supplied to the GFCI.
• The GFCI is miswired due to reversal of the LINE and LOAD leads.
• The GFCI cannot pass its internal test, indicating that it may not be able to provide protection in the event of a ground
fault.
GFCI TEST
Use an approved GFCI tester or plug an electrical device, such as a lamp into the receptacle on which you are working.
Turn the lamp or device ON. Then, press the TEST button on the GFCI box and power should immediately be switched
off. If not, contact an electrician. Press the RESET button to restore power.
The SLEDB-110V-6C from Larson Electronics is a Class 1 LED Beacon that works on 110/120V AC, offers a choice of
several colors and is equipped with an aluminum base. The SLEDB-110V-6C is also equipped with a 6 foot long cord that
is terminated in a choice of 125V general area cord caps.
INSTALLATION
This unit comes pre-assembled with the selected color from factory. Follow the steps below for installing and
maintaining the strobe light.
MOUNTING
Mount beacon to any flat surface utilizing the aluminum base predrilled with three holes for standard self
tapping screws. Mount in any direction. Run cable and connect to compatible power source following all local,
state, national NEC codes.
WIRING
Standard pigtail(flying leads) wiring
We strongly encourage a licensed electrician install this product, in all locations especially in outdoor areas
where weatherproofing may be required. Universal voltage driver permits operation at 110V/120V AC.
Warning: Check product label for correct input voltage!
Attach supply line wires to the appropriate light fixture wires as shown
in the diagram
Secure each pair of wires according to the diagram. Utilize a junction box or
similar device and take precautionary steps for weatherproofing all
connections if installed in a location where water may come in contact with the
unit. Ensure the unit is properly grounded and that wiring is done according to
all local and national electrical/building codes.
Standard Cord Cap
This unit comes pre-wired from factory with the selected cord cap. Take
precautionary steps for weatherproofing all connections if installed in a
location where water may come in contact with the unit. All outdoor
installations and indoor installations near a wet location require the use of a
GFCI device for safety, according to the National Electrical Code® (NEC).
Ensure the unit is properly grounded.

FLASH TUBE REMOVAL
WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock. Lamp MUST be removed from power source and discharged prior to
performing maintenance!
Flash tube is easily removed by inserting a flat blade screwdriver between socket and tube and prying
upward, working around the base of the tube.
Take precautionary steps for weatherproofing all
connections if installed in a location where water may
come in contact with the unit. Ensure the unit is properly
grounded.
If top light output is not required, a circular piece of
reflective tape is included to increase visibility to the sides.
Simply remove colored lens held in place by four screws,
peel off paper revealing the adhesive side, and stick
reflective tape to the top of lens from the inside with the
reflective side facing down, toward the light.

MAINTENANCE
Caution: To avoid personal injury, disconnect power to the light and allow the unit to cool down before
performing maintenance.
Warning: No user serviceable parts inside of fixture. Risk of electric shock. Removal of the lens will void
the warranty.
1. Perform visual, mechanical and electrical inspections on a regular basis. We recommend routine
checks to be made on a yearly basis. Frequency of use and environment should determine this. It is
recommended to follow an Electrical Preventive Maintenance Program as described in NFPA 70B:
Recommended practice for Electrical Equipment.
2. The lens should be cleaned periodically as needed to ensure continued photometric performance.
Clean the lens with a damp, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. If not sufficient, use mild soap or a liquid
cleaner.
3. Inspect the cooling fins on the luminaire to ensure that they are free of any obstructions or
contamination (i.e. excessive dust build-up). Clean with a non-abrasive cloth if needed.
4. Do not operate if the lens is cracked or damaged. All fasteners should be properly seated.
USE AND CARE
Unauthorized modification may impair the function and/or safety of this device and could affect the life of the equipment.
Always check for damaged or worn out parts before using the device. Store it in a secure place out of the reach of
children when not in use. Inspect for good working condition prior to storage and before re-use.
