Connecting Earphones to the DVD Player(Optional Accessory)
You can attach anearphone with astereo mini-jack plug to the phonejack ( )for private listening. Its volume isadjustable
using the VOLUME control dial. You can also connect a second earphoneto the AUDIO OUT jack, but itsvolume cannot be
adjusted.
Note: When theearphone is connected to the PhoneJack ( ),the speaker will be disconnected.

Connecting DIGITAL-TV Antenna
Toreceive digital TV and radio,you need to connect an antenna to the player. Follow these steps:
1.Plug theantenna cable into the antenna socket on the Player.
2.Place theantenna on any surface.
3.The antenna hasa magnetic base which can be attached to anymetal surface.
Two antennapoles are includedfor vertical and horizontal placement. Whenplacing the antennaon a vertical surface, a 90 degree-bend
antenna maybe used.To change, simplyunscrew the polefrom the base and replace with the other pole.

Suggestions to Improve TV Reception
1.The locationof antenna is critical when watchthe TV indoor.
In general, placingthe antenna nearwindows will providea
better reception.
2.Place theantenna on a metallic surface will improve reception.
3.This playeruses active antenna, which is poweredby the player,
the amplifier providesan increased signallevel and avoidsthe
influence of noiseand cable-losses.

Connecting to an External Component
You can enjoy video from your VCR or camcorder on your DVD player.
1. Turnoff DVD player, VCRand other components.
2. Connect theaudio and video cables as illustrated below.
3. Slide INPUT/OUTPUT to INPUT.

Connecting to a TV
TIPS
If you wishto view videoon your TV only, close thedisplay panel of your DVD player.
With the displaypanel shut, usethe remote to control DVD player.
1. Turnoff DVD player and TV.
2. Connect theaudio and video cables as illustrated below.
3. Slide INPUT/OUTPUT to OUTPUT.
4.Turn on DVD player andTV.
5. Select correspondingVideo input which is connectedto DVD player.
6. Press PLAY on DVD player.
You can enjoy DVD quality video on your TV screen.

Connecting to a Stereo Component
1.Turn off both DVD player and your stereo system.
2.Connect theSPDIF to your stereo system as illustrated below.
3.Slide INPUT/OUTPUT to OUTPUT.
4.Turn on power ofDVD player.
By connecting the digital output (SPDIF) on the DVD player through a coaxial cable (optional accessory)
to a Dolby Digital/DTS amplifier or processor, you can enjoy full 5.1 channel surround sound. Follow
these steps for making the connection.
Depending on your amplifier system, you need to make the following selection from MENU:
1.Refer to ChangingAudio Output on page 33.
2.Select SPDIF/RAW if your amplifierhas 5.1-channel decoder.
3.Select SPDIF/PCM if your amplifierhas 2 channels.
4.Select OFF, if thereis no digital signal output fromthe DVD player.

Important !

When theAC adaptor isused for prolonged period of time,the adaptor mayheat up, this is normal andis not acause for concern.
When not usingthe adaptor,unplug it from the outlet.
To DC12V IN on the DVD player
This portable DVDplayer can be powered by AC through thesupplied switching power AC adaptor. It can also use the
supplied battery packto power.
When theAC adaptor is connected to the unit and powered,the unit will be automatically and electrically disconnected fromthe
battery pack andpowered by the AC power.

Using the Battery Pack
Installing the battery pack
Align and insertthe battery pack into the
corresponding slots onthe back of the unit. Slide the batterypack to the left until it clicksinto place.
Removing the battery pack
Slide down thelatch. Slide the batterypack to the right, and remove.
1.During charging theLED will blinkRED/GREEN.
2.If the batteryis disconnected duringcharging, the LED turns to
orange.
3.When the batteryis full charged,the LED turns to orange.

Charging the battery pack
1.TurnON the unit bysliding Power ON/OFFto ON.
Note: When theplayer is turned OFF the battery willnot be charged.
2.Attach thebattery pack to the unit.
3.Connect oneend of the AC cordto the jackon theAC adaptor.
4.Plug theother end of the ACcord into anAC outlet.
5.Connect theDC cord to the DC IN12V jack onthe DVD player.
6.The unitcan be charged in the PLAYmode and inthe STAND-BY mode.

Cautions in Using Battery Pack
Danger!
Strictly follow thesesafety information when using the batterypack, Otherwise, ashort circuit, overheating, smoke, fire,
or damage tothe product may result.
Never disassemble ormodify the batterypack in any way. Do not touch the terminal of the battery packwith a metal object.
Do not placethe battery packin direct sunlight, dashboard of avehicle, or hightemperature place. It can cause explosionor fire.
Do not exposethe battery packto water, fire, or heat.
Always usethe includedAC adaptor when charging the batterypack.
This battery pack is designed exclusively for your portable DVD player. Do not use it withother devices.

3. The battery pack may leak fluid thatis harmful toyour eyes.
If this fluidgets in your eyes, wash eyesimmediately with largeamounts of running water and getmedical attention immediately.

Adjust the screenangle for a comfortable
viewing. Press theREVERSE button to

Watching DIGITAL TV
1.Make surethe unit has the power either from the batteryor the
AC adaptor.
2.Make surethe antenna is connected to the player.
3.Slide INPUT/OUTPUT to OUTPUT (located on theside of the
player).
4.Slide POWER on the Playerto ON, the Playeris now onstandby.
5.Press STANDBY on the remotecontrol to turn on the Player, or
press and holdPLAY ( ) onthe Player for two seconds toturn
on. The player will startin TV (DVBT) mode.
Preparation for TV Operation
First Time TV Setup
When you firstuse the TV, the Player automatically starts the
installation wizard, followthrough the instruction to setup your
TV program.
2.Use toselect Country and to changecountry.
3.The languageand time zone will change automatically according
to the countryyou selected. Butyou still can make change.
4.Select NEXT to continue.

1.Press DVBT/DVD to switch toDVD player mode
2.Press SETUP on the remotecontrol.
3.Use thedirection keys ( ) to selectOSD language you want,
press on theremote (or ENTER on the Player)to confirm.
4.Press SETUP to get out.
5.Press DVBT/DVD to go toTV mode.

Changing TV Channel
You can change TV channel thefollowing three ways:
1.Press /CH+ or /CH- .
2.Enter thechannel number directly.
3.Press todisplay TV channel list, use to
select channel, press to confirm andview.

Press /PAUSE, to freezethe screen display.
Displaying Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
1.Press MARK/EPG to display theElectronic TV program guide.
2.Use / CH+ or / CH - to select program, and then press to
view program details.
3.Press / EXIT repeatedly to getout.
Displaying Teletext
1.Press GOTO/TELETEX to display theteletext.
2.Use tonavigate content or key-in page number to view
different pages.
3.Press / EXIT repeatedly to getout.
Displaying Current Channel Information
Press DISPLAY to display theinformation of currentchannel.
Muting
Press MUTE to silence thesound, press MUTE again to restoreit.
Watching Your Favorite TV programs
1.Repeatedly pressREPEAT/FAVORITE to turn onthe favorite
function, and FAV ON appears on thescreen.
2.Use / CH+ or / CH - to view the favorite TV programs you
have set upin the sectionof Setting Up FavoriteProgram List,
Changing Order,Deleting Program.
3.To turn off the favoriteTV program, press REPEAT/ FAVORITE,
and FAV OFF appears on the screen.
