Wiring your Dimmer –
Connect wires per WIRING DIAGRAM as follows: Twist strands
of each lead tightly together and, with circuit conductors, push
firmly into appropriate wire connector. Screw connectors on
clockwise making sure no bare conductors show below the wire
connectors. Secure each connector with electrical tape.
For all multi-location applications, the dimmer must be installed
in a wall box that has a Load connection. The remotemust be
installed in a wall box with a Line Hot connection and a Neutral
connection.
If you are unsure about any part of these instructions, consult a
qualified electrician.
NOTE: Maximum wire length from dimmer to all installed
remotes cannot exceed 300 ft.

Installing Dimmer by itself or with other devices:
If installing Dimmer in a single device application, proceed with the
INSTALLING YOUR DIMMER section. If installing Dimmer in a multi-
device application, proceed as follows:
MULTI-DEVICE APPLICATION
In multi-dimmer installations, there is no derating necessary.
Breaking off fins is not required on this device. Refer to the chart for
maximum load per dimmer.
Single-Pole Wiring Application:
WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS:
• To be installed and/or used in accordance with appropriate electrical codes and regulations.
• If you are unsure about any part of these instructions, consult a qualified electrician.
• To avoid overheating and possible damage to this device and other equipment, use only with the appropriate Lutron 120V Hi-lume®or Eco-10™ (EcoSeries)
electronic ballasts for controlling the specific fluorescent lamps.
• Acenti™ dimmers are not compatible with standard 3-way or 4-way switches. They must be used with compatibleAcenti™ remotes for multi-location dimming.
• Use only one (1) dimmer in a multi-location circuit with up to 9 coordinating remotes without LEDs or up to 4 matching remotes with LEDs. The remote(s) will
turn the light on at the brightness level selected at the dimmer.
• Only use lamps listed on ballast label. Compact Fluorescent lamps must have four pins for dimming.
• Lamps must be burned in at full intensity for 100 hours prior to dimming for proper dimming performance.
WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS:
• For new installations, wire a test switch before installing dimmer.
• Total minimum load must exceed 40W.
• Dimmer may feel warm to the touch during normal operation.
• Recommended minimum wall box depth is 2-1/2".
• Maximum wire length from dimmer to all installed remotes cannot exceed 300 ft.
• Disconnect power at circuit breaker or fuse when servicing, installing or removing fixture.
• Use this device only with copper or copper clad wire. With aluminum wire use only devices marked CO/ALR or CU/AL.
3-Way Wiring with Coordinating Remote (no LEDs)
Application:
For non-standard wiring applications, refer
to Wire Nut and Conductor Size Chart

The maximum current rating is 8A, which can be measured from the
incoming Hot (Black) on the dimmer. Refer to the ballast label to
determine the total load on the dimmer circuit. The total load is
calculated by adding all of the ballast input currents for all ballasts on
dimmer.
Preparing and connecting wires:
Pull off pre-cut insulation from dimmer leads. Make sure that
the ends of the wires from the wall box are straight (cut if
necessary). Remove insulation from each wire in the wall
box as shown.
Step 1 WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH;
TURN OFF POWER at circuit breaker or fuse and test
that power is off before wiring!

Installing your Alignment Plate:
Important Notice for Installer
To achieve proper aesthetic installation of the Acenti products, the
wall surface surrounding the wall box opening must be fairly flat and
free of irregularities. The wall box must be level and recessed or
flush to the wall surface. TheAcenti installation system allows for
adjustments that will correct minor flaws that may be present in the
installation area.
This device must be installed with the Acenti™Alignment Plate. The
Alignment Plate is packaged with the Acenti™Wallplate, which is
sold separately from this device.
The Alignment Plate will function properly only if it is mounted to a
flat wall surface as described above.
Leviton recommends to temporarily position the Alignment
Plate prior to wiring the device. If the wall box wires
extend at least 6 inches out of the wall box, it is also
possible to install the Alignment Plate after the device has
been wired (refer to Wallplate instruction sheet).
•The Alignment Plate must be installed with the tab towards the
bottom.
•Leviton recommends the following 3 methods to temporarily hold
the Alignment Plate –use of device mounting screw, use of wall
box wires, or use of electrical tape (refer to the following
figures):

ADVANCED PROGRAMMING FEATURES
Set Minimum Brightness: Set the minimum brightness level that
the lights can dim to prior to turning full OFF.
NOTE: Burn in lamps at full intensity for 100 hours prior to adjusting
this level as well as let them cool for at least 2 hours.
Set Dim-Lock: Set the brightness level that the lights will turn on to
regardless of the previous light level at which they were turned OFF.
Set Fade Rate: Set the amount of time (in seconds) that the lights
will have to turn ON or OFF. Fade rates can be set to one of five
different settings.
To Program:
NOTE: Have a flashlight handy if this dimmer controls the only light
source in the room.
1. Gently pull the bottom of the push pad forward until the bottom of
the pad slightly lifts off the strap to engage the air-gap switch on
and wait for 5 seconds.
2. Press and hold push pad for 7 seconds until the locator light
starts blinking. The top LED (LED 1) in the brightness display will
also start to blink.
3. Upon releasing the push pad, the locator light will indicate that
the dimmer is in Set Minimum Brightness mode (Mode 1) by
blinking once per second.
4. To change the current Minimum Brightness level, use the DIM/
BRIGHT Bar to choose the level desired from 1-50%. When
adjustment is made, the setting is automatically saved. Tap the
push pad and the locator light will blink twice per second to
indicate that it is now in the Set Dim-Lock Level mode (Mode 2).
5. To change the current Dim-Lock level, use the DIM/BRIGHT Bar
to choose the level desired from 0-100%. If the Dim-Lock feature
is not desired, press and hold the down arrow until no LED is lit.
When adjustment is made, the setting is automatically saved. Tap
the push pad and the locator LED will blink three times per
second to indicate that it is now in the Set Fade Rate mode
(Mode 3).
6. The LED Brightness Display is separated into 5 segments. To
change the current Fade Rate, use the DIM/BRIGHT Bar to move
the LED to the desired preset. Preset 1 is the LED closest to the
top and Preset 5 is the closest to the bottom (refer to chart for
settings). When the adjustment is made, the setting is
automatically saved. Tap the push pad to exit the programming
mode. If the sequence is not completed within 3 minutes, the
dimmer will return to its previous settings.
