Installation Instructions
Description:
The 47A00-2 is a Wireless Quad Element PIR (Passive Infrared) Motion Detector that works with the HAI
45A00-1 Wireless Receiver. It has pet immune settings for both 33lbs. and 55lbs. The 47A00-2 also has a
sensitivity setting making it a perfect detector for both security and occupancy detection applications.

Notes:
1. During normal operation, when the PIR trips (because it senses motion), it will not trip again for 3
minutes.
2. During normal operation, the LED will never illuminate. The LED only illuminates during test mode.
3. The test mode serves two purposes:
a) Walk Test: allows you to check the coverage of the PIR
b) RF Test: allows you to verify signal strength between the PIR and the wireless receiver
4. To enter the test mode, with the backplate installed on the PIR, place the supplied magnet over the arrow
on the left side of the PIR for 2seconds and then remove it. The PIR will remain in test mode for 1
minute. While in test mode, each time you walk in the coverage path of the PIR, the LED will flash to
indicate that it senses motion and the PIR will send an RF transmission. Note: There is a 3 second delay
between each trip while in test mode.
5. You cannot manually exit enroll or test mode. The PIR will exit enroll and test mode automatically after
1 minute. Do not attempt to enroll another wireless device until the PIR exits enroll mode.

Select Mounting Location:
Select the mounting location so that an intruder will cross the beams of the selected pattern. As the detector is a
wireless transmitter, and in order to take full advantage of the sophisticated operation of the PIR, do not install
the detector in areas where large metal objects could interfere with the transmission of signals. It is also
advisable to avoid the following locations:
•Facing direct sunlight
•Facing areas that may change temperature rapidly
•Areas where there are air ducts or substantial airflows
•Installation on a metal wall
The 47A00-2 performs best in a constant and stable environment.
Mounting the Detector:
The 47A00-2 can be mounted in a corner like any standard PIR or can be easily mounted to a wall or ceiling by
using the supplied bracket. To mount, remove the screw at the bottom of the PIR and remove the backplate.
Standard Corner and Wall Mounting
1) For corner mounting, use the supplied long screws with anchors and mount the
PIR backplate using either the 2 upper corner mount screw holes or the 2
lower corner mount screw holes and mount the backplate at a height of 2.3
meters. Attach the PIR to the mounted backplate with the screw at the bottom
of the PIR.
2) For mounting the PIR on a flat wall, use the supplied long screws with anchors
and mount the PIR backplate using the 2 wall mount screw holes in the center
of the back and mount the backplate at a height of 2.3 meters. Attach the PIR
to the mounted backplate with the screw at the bottom of the PIR.
Bracket Mounting
The PIR can be mounted to a wall or ceiling using the
supplied bracket.
1) Screw part A to part B, and then screw part B to part C.
2) Select either the corner mount (part D) or flat wall
mount (part E).
3) Mount the selected bracket (D or E) at a height of 2.3
meters on the wall using the supplied long screws with
anchors.
4) Place the assembly of parts A, B, and C on the shaft of
the bracket.
5) Insert a screw from the top of part C to hold the
assembly to the shaft of the bracket.
6) Attach the PIR to the mounted backplate with the screw
at the bottom of the PIR.

LENS PATTERN
Configuring the Detector:
1) Remove the screw from the bottom of the PIR and remove the PIR from
the backplate.
2) Set the left jumper (PET IMMUNITY) to either 25K (55lbs.) for larger
pets or 15K (33lbs.) for pets less than 30 lbs.
3) Set the right jumper (SENSITIVITY) to either HI or LOW. The
sensitivity adjustment switch is used to set the detector for security
(LOW) or occupancy (HIGH) detection applications.
4) Install the CR123A battery making sure to observe the correct polarity.
Note: after installing the battery and reinstalling the backplate, wait
10 seconds for the power up delay.
Enrolling the 47A00-2:
The 47A00-2 can be enrolled while installed in its mounting location. To enroll the 47A00-2, put the 45A00-1
Wireless Receiver in to Setup mode and advance to an unused address location. Place the supplied magnet over
the arrow on the left side of the PIR for 2 seconds and then remove it. The 47A00-2 will then send a series of
transmissions to enroll the transmitter.
The PIR will exit enroll mode automatically after 1 minute. Do not attempt to enroll another wireless device
until the PIR exits enroll mode.
Refer to the Installation Instructions for the 45A00-1 for additional information.

Operation:
The 47A00-2 transmits the following event data:
Supervision: A periodic transmission at least once every 60 minutes to indicate detector is operational.
Alarm: Alarm transmission triggered by PIR motion detection.
Battery Low: Whenever the battery reaches a preset low level, a “Battery Low” signal will be sent with the next
message (i.e. Supervision, Alarm, etc.).
Tamper: Whenever the 47A00-2 is removed from the backplate, a “Tamper” signal will be transmitted.
Battery:
A 3V Lithium Battery powers the unit. The battery provides 3 years of continuous operation under normal
operation. If the battery reaches a factory preset low level, the “Battery Low” signal will be transmitted.
CAUTION:
THERE IS A RISK OF EXPLOSION IF THE BATTERY IS REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT TYPE.
DISPOSE OF THE USED BATTERIES ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS.
