ventilation.
• Do not install the unit where it is subjected to continuous
vibration. Do not subject the unit to physical impact.
• Environmental temperature must be within -5 to +55°C
(23 to 131°F) with relative humidity within 30 to 90% RH
in order to ensure adequate life span and operation.
• Be sure that the ventilation slits are not covered with ca-
bles, etc.
■WIRING
• Do not install cables close to noise sources (relay drive
cable, high frequency line, etc.).
• Do not bind these cables together with those in which
noises are present. Do not install them in the same duct.
■AND ....
• The unit is designed to function as soon as power is sup-
plied, however, a warm up for 10 minutes is required for
satisfying complete performance described in the data
sheet.
• With voltage output, do not leave the output terminals
shortcircuited for a long time. The unit is designed to
endure it without breakdown, however, it may shorten ap-
propriate life duration.

CHECKING
1) Terminal wiring: Check that all cables are correctly con-
nected according to the connection diagram.
2) Power input voltage: Check voltage across the terminal
13 – 14 with a multimeter.
3) Input: Check that the input signal is within 0 – 100% of
the full-scale.
4) Output: Check that the load resistance meets the de-
scribed specifications.
EQUATION
Xo = K(Xi + B) (proportional)
Xo = K(Xi + B) + 100% (inverted)
where Xo : Output (%)
K: Ratio
⎡Linear characteristics ⎤
⎢
0.1 to 4.00 (proportional)
⎥
⎣
-0.1 to -4.00 (inverted)
⎦
Xi : Input (approx. -10 to +120%)
B: Bias (-100 to +100%)
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
This unit is calibrated at the factory to meet the ordered
specifications and within the described accuracy.
Adjustment procedure is as follows:
(C) Ratio/Bias Selector
The front cover cannot be turned open by 180 deg.
when there is no extra space between units.
(A) Polarity Indicator LED
(B) Ratio/Bias Display
(E) Zero Adj.
(F) Span Adj.
(D) UP/DOWN Control
Top: Ratio
Bottom: Bias
• How to Set the Ratio
Turn the Ratio/Bias Selector (C) to the top.
The Ratio/Bias Display (B) shows the current ratio (0.10 –
4.00). Press UP/DOWN Control (D) until the display shows
a desired set value.
The Polarity Indicator LED (A) is red when the set value is
in positive range, green when in negative range.
• How to Set the Bias
Turn the Ratio/Bias Selector (C) to the bottom.
The Ratio/Bias Display (B) shows the current bias (0 –
100%). Press UP/DOWN Control (D) until the display
shows a desired set value.
The Polarity Indicator LED (A) is red when the set value is
in positive range, green when in negative range.
• Fine Calibration
Equation: Xo = K(Xi + B) (proportional)
Xo = K(Xi + B) + 100% (inverted)
1) Calculate the input signal Xi which results in 0% output.
Apply the calculated input and adjust with Zero Adj. (E)
the output Xo to 0%.
2) Calculate the input signal Xi which results in 100% out-
put. Apply the calculated input and adjust with Span
Adj. (E) the output Xo to 100%.
3) Apply the calculated zero point input again and check the
output Xo.
4) If the output has been shifted, go through (1) through (3)
again.
The unit is factory set and calibrated to the following ratio
and bias values.
Proportional characteristics: ratio (K) = 1, Bias (B) = 0%
Inverted characteristics: ratio (K) = -1, Bias (B) = 0%
MAINTENANCE
Regular calibration procedure is explained below:
■CALIBRATION
Warm up the unit for at least 10 minutes. Apply the input
signals which should lead the calculated results as 0%, 25%,
50%, 75% and 100%. Check that the output signal for the
respective input signal remains within accuracy described
in the data sheet. When the output is out of tolerance, re-
calibrate the unit according to the “ADJUSTMENT PRO-
CEDURE” explained earlier.
