the manufacturer to recharge.
13. Do not pick up anything that is burn-
ing or smoking, such as cigarettes,

14. Do not use without dust bag and/or
lters in place.
15. Do not charge the battery outdoors.

16. Use power tools only with speci-
cally designated battery packs. Use
of any other battery packs may create

17. Recharge only with the charger
specied by the manufacturer. A
charger that is suitable for one type of
batterypackmaycreateariskofre

18. When battery pack is not in use,
keep it away from other metal
objects, like paper clips, coins,
keys, nails, screws or other small
metal objects, that can make a
connection from one terminal to
another. Shortingthebatteryterminals
togethermaycauseburnsorare.
19. Under abusive conditions, liquid
may be ejected from the battery;
avoid contact. If contact acciden-
tally occurs, ush with water. If liq-
uid contacts eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquidejectedfromthe

This appliance is intended for house-

the charger instruction manual care-
fully before use.
2. Do not pick up the following materials:

FOR BUILT-IN BATTERY
1. Before using built-in battery, read all
instructions and cautionary mark-
ings on (1) battery charger, (2) bat-
tery, and (3) product using battery.
2. Do not disassemble built-in battery.
3. If operating time has become
excessively shorter, stop operating
immediately. It may result in a risk
of overheating, possible burns and
even an explosion.

4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes,
rinse them out with clear water and
seek medical attention right away. It
may result in loss of your eyesight.
5. Do not short the built-in battery:
1. Do not touch the terminals with
any conductive material.
2. Avoid storing built-in battery
in a container with other metal
objects such as nails, coins, etc.
3. Do not expose built-in battery to
water or rain.
A battery short can cause a
large current ow, overheat-
ing, possible burns and even a
breakdown.
6. Do not store the tool and built-in bat-
tery in locations where the tempera-
ture may reach or exceed 50°C (122°F).
7. Do not incinerate the built-in battery
even if it is severely damaged or is
completely worn out. The built-in
battery can explode in a re.
8. Be careful not to drop or strike
battery.
9. Follow your local regulations relat-
ing to disposal of battery.

Tips for maintaining maximum
battery life
1. Charge the built-in battery before
completely discharged.
Always stop tool operation and
charge the built-in battery when you
notice less tool power.
2. Never recharge a fully charged
built-in battery.
Overcharging shortens the battery
service life.
3. Charge the built-in battery with
room temperature at 10°C - 40°C
(50°F - 104°F). Let a hot built-in bat-
tery cool down before charging it.
4. Charge the battery cartridge once in
every six months if you do not use it
for a long period of time.
FUNCTIONAL
DESCRIPTION
Charging the built-in battery
CAUTION: Do not operate the cleaner during
charging. It may be damaged.
CAUTION: Always disconnect the charging
plug from the cleaner after charging.
CAUTION: Do not leave the charger in the
mains after disconnecting the appliance.Small
children may put the live plug in their mouth and
causeinjury.
Use only the Makita charger DC1001 to charge this
cleaner. Use of the other type chargers may cause the
batterytoburst,resultinpersonalinjuryanddamage.
Chargethecleanerwhenusingitforthersttimeor
uncharged for a long time. Connect the charging plug to
thechargingconnector,thenpluginthechargertothe
power receptacle.
Thebatterypowerlamplightsupandstartcharging.
Chargingtakesapproximately3hours.Thelightgoes
outafterthechargingiscomplete.Formoredetails,
refer to the instruction manual of battery charger.

CAUTION: Before using the tool, always
check to see that the switch trigger actuates
properly and returns to the "OFF" position when
released.
Tostartthetool,simplypulltheswitchtrigger.Release
the switch trigger to stop.

Whentheremainingbatterycapacitygetsmuchlower,
the tool stops and the battery power lamp lights up

the tool stops and the battery power lamp lights up
about10seconds.Thetooldoesnotactuateduringthe
lamp on.

CAUTION: Empty the cleaner before it
becomes too full, or the suction force weakens.
CAUTION: Be sure to empty out the dust
inside the cleaner itself. Failure to do so may
cause the lter to be clogged or the motor to be
damaged.

OPERATION
CAUTION: To connect attachments, such
as nozzle, twist and insert the attachment in
direction of the arrow to secure the connection
during use. To disconnect the attachments, twist
and extract it also in direction of the arrow. If an
attachment is twisted in the opposite direction when
beingconnectedordisconnected,thecapsulemay
become loose.

You can pick up powder and dust without nozzle.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is
switched off before attempting to perform inspec-
tion or maintenance.
NOTICE: Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,
alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or
cracks may result.

After use
Whenstoringorchargingthecleaner,lockthenozzle
head,andhangitfromahookavailableinthemarket.
NOTICE: Putting the cleaner against the wall
without any other support cause the cleaner to
fall down and be damaged.
Cleaning
From time to time wipe off the outside (cleaner body) of
the cleaner using a cloth dampened in soapy water.
Cleanoutalsothesuctionopening,dustbag/paperlter
mounting area and the dust stopper.
Washthelterinsoapywaterwhenitiscloggedwith
dust and the cleaner power becomes weak. Dry it out
thoroughlybeforeuse.Aninsufcientlydriedltermay
cause poor suction and shorten the service life of the
motor.
The nozzle cleaning
Whenthenozzlebrushgetsdusty,cleanupthedust
with sticky.

A Li-ion battery is built in this cleaner. Always remove it
before disposing of the cleaner.
Removing built-in battery
CAUTION: Do not touch the terminals with

water or rain.
CAUTION: Do not disassemble or alter bat-
tery unit.
CAUTION: The cleaner must be disconnected
from the supply mains when removing the battery.

Installing replacement battery
Toinstallthereplacementbattery,followtheremoval
procedure in reverse.
CAUTION: Route the lead so that it is com-
pletely stored inside the cleaner before putting
the rear cover back in the original position. Failure
to do this may damage the lead.
Afterinstallingthebattery(see"SPECIFICATIONS"),
charge the battery before use.

durée de service maximale de
la batterie
1. Rechargez la batterie intégrée
avant qu’elle ne soit complètement
déchargée.
Arrêtez toujours l’outil et rechargez
la batterie intégrée quand vous
remarquez que la puissance de l’ou-
til diminue.
2. Ne rechargez jamais une batterie
intégrée complètement chargée.
La surcharge réduit la durée de ser-
vice de la batterie.
3. Chargez la batterie intégrée à une
température ambiante de 10 °C à 40
°C (50 °F à 104 °F). Si la batterie inté-
grée est chaude, laissez-la refroidir
avant de la charger.
4. Rechargez la batterie tous les six
mois si elle n’est pas utilisée pen-
dant de longues périodes.

ATTENTION : N’utilisez pas l’aspirateur pen-
dant la charge. Cela pourrait l’endommager.

ATTENTION : Après avoir déconnecté l’ap-
pareil, ne laissez pas le chargeur branché sur
la prise secteur.Lesjeunesenfantspourraientse
blesserenmettantlachesoustensiondansleur
bouche.
Utilisez exclusivement le chargeur DC1001 Makita pour
charger cet aspirateur. L’utilisation d’autres types de
chargeur peut faire éclater la batterie et entraîner une
blessure ou des dommages.
Chargez l’aspirateur lors de sa première utilisation ou
s’il n’a pas été chargé depuis longtemps. Raccordez la
chedechargeauconnecteurdecharge,puisbran-
chez le chargeur sur la prise de courant.
Le témoin d’alimentation de la batterie s’allume et la
charge commence. La charge prend environ 3 heures.
