Köf III
Ab Mitte der 1950er-Jahre zeigte sich, dass die Kleinloks
der Leistungsgruppe II den Anforderungen nicht mehr
genügten. Daher begann ab 1958 die Entwicklung von
stärkeren Kleinloks der Leistungsgruppe III mit mehr als
150 PS, denn bei der Deutschen Bundesbahn (DB) war ein
Bedarf an stärkeren Kleinlokomotiven vorhanden, die auch
im Übergabedienst vor schwereren Güterzügen eingesetzt
werden konnten. Die Leistungsübertragung erfolgte vom
Motor über Gelenkwelle auf ein hydraulisches Getriebe und
weiter über Rollenketten auf die Radsätze.
Zwischen 1962 und 1966 wurden insgesamt 312 Exemplare
als Köf 11 006-317 mit 240-PS-Motor und Voith-Getriebe
geliefert. Das Fahrzeugteil bestand aus einem Rahmen mit
rückwärts angeordnetem Führerhaus. Der Rahmen setzte
sich aus kastenförmig zusammengeschweißten Blech-
trägern mit quer eingeschweißten Verbindungsblechen
zusammen, welche die nötige Steifigkeit der Konstruktion
gewährleisteten. Die tauschbaren Pufferbohlen waren an
den vorgebauten Bohlenträgern befestigt. Das Führerhaus
sollte eine gute Rundumsicht bieten und wurde daher so
tief wie möglich gesetzt.
Information about the Prototype
The Köf III
Starting in the mid-Fifties it was evident that the small
locomotives Performance Group II were no longer able
to meet expectations. For that reason development was
begun starting in 1958 for more powerful small loco-
motives in Performance Group III with more than 150
horsepower because there was a need on the German
Federal Railroad (DB) for more powerful small locomoti-
ves that could also be used to pull heavy freight trains in
transfer service. Power was transmitted from the motor
via universal joint shafts to a hydraulic transmission and
further by means of roller chains to the wheel sets.
Between 1962 and 1966 a total of 312 units as road
numbers Köf 11 006-317 were delivered with 240 hor-
sepower motors and Voith transmissions. These units
consisted of a frame with an engineer‘s cab arranged
facing the rear. The frame consisted of box-shaped sheet
metal members welded together with connecting sheet
metal cross member pieces welded into the structure
which ensured the necessary rigidity for the design. The
interchangeable buffer beams were mounted on prefabri-
cated plank-shaped metal members. The engineer‘s cab
was supposed to give a good view in all directions and
was therefore set as low as possible.

tracteurs de la catégorie II ne satisfaisaient plus aux exi-
gences. C est ainsi qu en 1958 débuta la conception de lo-
cotracteurs de catégorie III plus puissants (plus de 150 ch):
La Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) avait en effet besoin de loco-
tracteurs également capables de remorquer de lourds trains
marchandises pour assurer le service de remonte. La puis-
sance du moteur était transmise à un système hydraulique
via des arbres à cardans, puis aux essieux via des chaînes
à rouleaux.
Entre 1962 et 1966 furent livrés au total 312 unités Köf 11 006-
317 équipées d un moteur de 240 ch et d un système de trans-
mission Voith. La superstructure se composait d un châssis et
d une cabine de conduite placée à l arrière. Le châssis était
constitué poutres composées soudées en caisson avec des
tôles de raccordement transversales soudées qui assuraient
la rigidité nécessaire de la construction. Les traverses porte-
tampons interchangeables étaient fixées sur des supports
avancés. Afin d offrir une vue panoramique, la cabine de con-
duite avait été placée aussi bas que possible.

1958 begon men dan ook met de ontwikkeling van de krach-
tigere locomotors van vermogensgroep III met meer dan 150
pk, omdat bij de Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) de behoefte aan
sterkere locomotors bestond, die ook in de overgavedienst
van zwaardere goederentreinen konden worden ingezet. Het
motorvermogen werd via een cardanas op een hydraulische
aandrijving en vandaar via rollenkettingen op de wielstellen
overgebracht.
Tussen 1962 en 1966 werden in totaal 312 exemplaren als Köf
11 006-317 met 240 pk-motor en Voith-aandrijving geleverd.
Het voertuigdeel bestond uit een frame met een naar achte-
ren gerichte cabine. Het frame bestond uit gelaste kokerlig-
gers met dwars daarop gelaste verbindingsplaten die voor de
nodige stijfheid van de constructie zorgden. De vervangbare
bufferbalken waren op speciale liggers gemonteerd. De ca-
bine moest naar alle kanten een goed uitzicht bieden en werd
daarom zo laag mogelijk geplaatst.
