DAS VORBILD
Um die Zugkraft der bewährten F7-A Lokomotiven zu erhö-
hen, entwickelte die General Motors Electro Motive Division
(EMD) eine F7 Diesellok ohne Führerhaus. Diese „B-Unit”
wurde an eine oder mehrere F7-A Loks gekuppelt. Alle Loks
konnten dann von einem Lokführer im Führerhaus der
„A-Unit” bedient werden.
THE PROTOTYPE
To increase the pulling power of its popular F7-A locomotive,
General Motors’ Electro Motive Division (EMD) designed
a matching diesel locomotive without a cab. This “B-unit“
could be coupled to one or more F7-A locomotives and
controlled by a single engineer in the cab of the “A-unit.“

Afin d‘augmenter la force de traction des locomotives
F7-A éprouvées, la General Motors Electro Motive Division
(EMD) a mis au point une locomotive diesel F7 sans poste de

Funktionen
• DasModellistfürdenBetriebaufLGB-Zweileiter-Gleich-
strom-Systemen mit herkömmlichen LGB-Gleichstrom-
Fahrpulten vorgesehen (DC, 0 - 24 V).
Dieses antriebslose Modell einer F7-B Diesellok ist zur
Verwendung mit LGB F7-A Modellen vorgesehen. Die elek-
trische Verbindung zwischen der „A-Unit” und der „B-Unit”
erfolgtüberzweiKabel(Abb.1):
- einzweipoligesKabelfürdenFahrstromvomGleis
- einvierpoligesKabelfürdenSoundunddieElektronik
des Mehrzugsystems.
VerbindenSiebeiallenMehrfachtraktions-Kombinationen
(z. B., A-A, A-B, A-B-A) alle Loks mit den zweipoligen Strom-
kabeln. Verwenden Sie jedoch die vierpoligen Elektronik-
Kabelnur,umB-UnitsmitA-Unitszuverbinden.Verbinden
Sie nie zwei B-Units oder zwei A-Units mit den vierpoligen
Kabeln.
Achtung!WennSiezweiB-UnitsmitdenvierpoligenKabeln
verbinden, kann das zu Schäden an den Verstärkern der
B-Units führen.
Hinweise:
- Ein zweipoliges Stromkabel liegt jeder A-Unit bei.
ZweivierpoligeElektronik-KabelwerdenmitjederB-Unit
geliefert.
- Damit Glocke und Signalhorn vorbildgetreu ausgelöst
werden, stellen Sie die B-Unit so auf die Schienen, dass
die Rückwand mit dem Betriebsartenschalter (Abb. 3)
zum hinteren Zugende weist (entsprechend der normalen
Fahrtrichtung des Zugs).

Betriebsarten
Dieses Modell ist mit einem Lautsprecher und zwei Verstär-
kern ausgestattet. Ein dreistufiger Betriebsarten-Schalter an
derRückwand(Abb.3)ermöglichtfolgendeBetriebsarten:
Pos. 0 Sound ausgeschaltet
Pos. 1 Die Lautsprecher in der vorderen und hinteren
A-Unit sind eingeschaltet. Diese Position ist
fürdenBetriebeinerA-B-ALok-Kombination
vorgesehen. Der Lautsprecher in der B-Unit ist
ausgeschaltet.
Pos. 2 Die Lautsprecher in der vorderen A-Unit und in
der B-Unit sind eingeschaltet. Diese Position
istfürdenBetriebeinerA-BLok-Kombination
vorgesehen.
Ein Lautstärkeregler an der hinteren Wand regelt die Laut-
stärke beider Lautsprecher.
Geräuschelektronik
Sie können die Glocke und das Signalhorn auch mit dem
LGB-Gleis-Schaltmagneten (17050) betätigen, der diesem
Modell beiliegt. Sie können den Schaltmagneten zwischen
die Schwellen der meisten LGB-Schienen klipsen.
Der Magnet des Schaltmagneten ist unter dem eingeprägten
LGB Logo eingegossen. Wenn Sie den Magneten auf einer
Seite der Schwelle plazieren, löst er das Signalhorn (2x
lang, 1x kurz, 1x lang) aus. Wenn Sie den Magneten auf der
anderen Seite der Schwelle platzieren, löst er die Glocke (8
Glockenschläge) aus.
Das Modell benötigt keine Batterie.
Mehrzugsystem
Das Modell ist bereits werkseitig mit Decoder on board für
das LGB-Mehrzugsystem ausgerüstet. Es kann unverän-
dert auf herkömmlichen analogen Anlagen oder mit dem
digitalen Mehrzugsystem eingesetzt werden. Zum Einsatz
mit dem LGB-Mehrzugsystem ist das Modell auf Lokadresse
03 programmiert.
Beim Betrieb mit dem Mehrzugsystem können Funktionen
der Lok ferngesteuert werden. Über die Funktionstasten
werdenfolgendeFunktionenbetätigt:

Hinweis: Um beim Analogbetrieb bei ausgeschaltetem
Trafo und bei Fahrtrichtungswechseln Standgeräusche zu
erhalten, muss die Standgeräusch-Stromversorgung 65011
eingebaut werden.
WARTUNG
Schmierung
Die Achslager hin und wieder mit je einem Tropfen LGB-
Pflegeöl (50019) ölen.

Functions
• ThismodelisdesignedforoperationonLGBtwo-railDC
systems with conventional LGB DC train controllers or
power packs (DC, 0 - 24 volts).
This unpowered F7-B model is designed to be used with the
LGB F7-A models. The electrical connection between the
“A-unit“andthe“B-unit“ismadewithtwocables(Fig.1):
- a two-wire “track power“ cable
- a four-wire “electronics“ cable for sound and Multi-Train
System electronics.
In all arrangements of units (for example, A-A, A-B, A-B-A),
connect all the units together with two-wire track power
cables. However, only use the four-wire electronics cable
to connect B-units to A-units. Do not use the four-wire
electronics cable to connect two B-units together or two
A-units together.
Attention! If you connect two B-units together with the
four-wire sound cable, the sound amplifiers in the B-units
may be damaged.
Hints:
- One two-wire track power cable is included with each
A-unit.
Two four-wire electronics cables are included with each
B-unit.
- For proper operation of the horn and bell sounds, place
the B-unit on the track with the rear wall (Fig. 3) facing
the rear of the train (opposite the normal direction of
travel).

Operating Modes
This model is equipped with one speaker and two amplifiers.
To control the amplifiers, this model has a three-way sound
controlswitchontherearwall(Fig.3):
Pos. 0 Sound off
Pos. 1 The speakers in the front and rear A-units are
on. This position is for an A-B-A combination.
The speaker in the B-unit is off.
Pos. 2 The speakers in the front A-unit and the B-unit
are on. This position is for an A-B combination.
A volume control on the rear wall controls the volume of
both speakers.
Sound
The horn and bell can also be triggered by the LGB Sound
Magnet (17050) included with this model. The 17050 snaps
between the ties of most LGB track sections.
The magnet in the 17050 is mounted under the LGB logo
molded into the case. If the contact is installed with the logo
on one side of the track, it will trigger the horn (2 long blasts,
1 short , 1 long). If the contact is installed with the logo on
the other side, it will trigger the bell (8 rings).
This model does not require a battery.
Multi-Train System
The model is equipped with a factory-installed onboard de-
coder for the LGB Multi-Train System. It can be used without
modifications on analog or digital layouts. For operation with
the Multi-Train System, the model is programmed to loco
address 03.
When operating with the Multi-Train System, you can remo-
tely control the loco’s functions. Press the function buttons
tocontrolthefollowingfunctions:

Hint: To obtain standing sounds with analog operation
while the throttle is turned off and when reversing the
locomotive‘s direction, the 65011 Sound Unit Power Storage
must be installed.
SERVICE
Lubrication
The axle bearings should be lubricated occasionally with a
small amount of LGB Maintenance Oil (50019).

Fonctionnement
• Lemodèleestprévupourêtreexploitésurdessystèmes
deux rails c.c. LGB avec des pupitres de commandes LGB
classiques en courant continu (DC, 0 - 24 V).
Ce modèle réduit sans entraînement d‘une locomotive diesel
F7-B est prévu pour être utilisé avec les modèles réduits
LGB F7-A. Le raccordement électrique entre la «A-unit» et la
«B-unit»estassuréparl‘intermédiairededeuxcâbles:
- un câble bipolaire pour le courant de traction en prove-
nance du rail
- un câble quadripolaire pour le son et le système électro-
nique du système multiple.
Ces câbles sont fournis avec la «A-unit». Reliez toujours la
«A-unit» à la «B-unit» avec les deux câbles (Img. 1).
Attention! Ne raccordez jamais deux «B-unit» avec le câble
quadripolaire.
Cela se solderait par des détériorations sur les amplifica-
teurs des «B-unit».
Pour garantir un fonctionnement correct de la cloche et du
klaxon, placez la «B-unit» sur les rails de manière à ce que
la face arrière avec le sélecteur de modes de service
(illustr. 3) soit orientée vers l‘arrière du train (correspondant
donc au sens normal de marche du train).

Modes d’exploitation
Ce modèle réduit est équipé d‘un haut-parleur et de deux
amplificateurs. Un sélecteur de modes de service à trois
positions placé sur la face arrière (Img. 3) permet d‘avoir les
réglagessuivants:
Pos. 0 son arrêté
Pos. 1 les haut-parleurs de la «A-unit» de tête et
de queue sont en marche. Cette position est
prévue pour l‘exploitation d‘une combinaison
de locomotives A-B-A. Le haut-parleur de la
«B-unit» est à l‘arrêt.
Pos. 2 les haut-parleurs de la «A-unit» de tête et de
la «B-unit» sont en marche. Cette position est
prévue pour l‘exploitation d‘une combinaison de
locomotives A-B.
Un régulateur de volume placé sur la face arrière permet de
régler le volume des deux haut-parleurs.
Système électronique de bruitage
La cloche et le klaxon peuvent être également activés au
moyen de lêaimant de commutation pour rails (17050) qui est
livré avec ce modèle. L’aimant de commutation s’emboîte
entre les traverses de la plupart des rails LGB.
L’aimant de commutation est scellé sous le logo LGB
incrusté. Si vous placez l’aimant d’un côté de la barrière, le
klaxon est déclenché (2 x long, 1 x court, 1 x long). Si vous
placez l’aimant de l’autre côté de la barrière, c‘est la cloche
(8 coups de cloche) qui est déclenchée.
Ce modèle réduit ne requiert pas de piles.
Système multiple
Ce modèle est équipé d’un décodeur embarqué de série
pour le système multitrain LGB. Il peut être utilisé sans
modification sur les réseaux analogiques ou numériques.
Pour utilisation avec le système multitrain, le modèle réduit
est programmé à l’adresse de locomotive 03.
Vous disposez des avantages du système multiple une fois
que les décodeurs sont installés dans la «B-unit» et dans la
«A-unit» couplée.
Appuyer sur les boutons de fonction pour commander les
fonctionssuivantes:
1. Coups de l’avertisseur sonore «passage à niveau» (2
coups brefs, 1 coup long, 1 coup bref)
2. Bruit du freinage
3. Cloche
4.Ordre:«Pleinsgaz,Patrick!»
5. Sonnerie d’alarme
6.Marche/arrêtmoteurdiesel
7. Relâchement de la pression des freins
8.Marche/arrêteffetssonores
Conseil : Pour entendre les bruits à l’arrêt en fonction-
nement analogique alors que la commande de réglage
de vitesse est au zéro, il faut installer l’accessoire 65011
Alimentation générateur d’effets sonores.
ENTRETIEN
Lubrification
Les roulements des essieux doivent être lubrifiés de temps à
autre avec une goutte d’huile de nettoyage LGB (50019).
