Informationen zum Vorbild
Für die umfangreichen Transportaufgaben,
die die Deutsche Reichsbahn während des
zweiten Weltkrieges erledigen musste, wurden
leistungsfähige Lokomotiven benötigt, die auch
auf Strecken mit geringer Achslast eingesetzt
werden konnten.
Um in möglichst kurzer Zeit eine große Zahl
solcher Lokomotiven herstellen zu können,
wurde angestrebt, Konstruktion und Fertigung
gegenüber den bisherigen Bauarten erheblich zu
vereinfachen.
Aus der Lokomotivbaureihe 50 wurde daher
durch konsequente „Entfeinerung“ die Baureihe
52 entwickelt. Diese Baureihe wurde dann in den
Jahren 1942 bis 1945 mit über 6000 Exemplaren
in deutschen und ausländischen Lokomotivfab-
riken gebaut. Sie war in der Lage, Güterzüge mit
einem Gesamtgewicht von 635 Tonnen in der
Ebene mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 80 km/h zu
befördern, auf Steigungen von 10‰ konnte sie
noch 415 Tonnen mit 50 km/h ziehen.
Wegen der großen Stückzahl waren diese
Lokomotiven auch nach dem Krieg nicht nur in
beiden Teilen Deutschlands, sondern auch in
vielen anderen europäischen Ländern häufig zu
sehen.
Information about the Prototype
Powerful locomotives were required for the
extensive transportation tasks that the German
State Railroad had to take care of during World
War II. These locomotives had to have a low axle
load for routes with substandard track.
In order to be able to produce a large number of
such locomotives in the shortest possible time,
efforts were made to simplify the design and
manufacture in comparison to the predecessor
classes.
The class 52 was therefore developed from the
class 50 by means of consistent “reverse refine-
ment”. Over 6,000 of this class were built in
the years 1942 to 1945 by German and foreign
locomotives builders. They were capable of pull-
ing freight trains with a total weight of 635 tons
on level track at a speed of 80 km/h (50 m.p.h.),
on 10‰ grades they could still pull 415 tons at a
speed of 50 km/h (approx. 31 m.p.h.).
Because of the large number of these locomo-
tives, after the war they were often to be seen
not only in both parts of Germany, but also in
many other European countries.

Informations concernant la locomotive réele
Des locomotives performantes étaient nécessai-
res pour assumer les transports volumineux que
devait, prendre en charge les Chemins de fer de
la Deutsche Reichsbahn pendant la Seconde
Cuerre Mondiale. Elles devaient pouvoir être
utilisées sur des lignes avec faible charge axiale.
Afin de pouvoir fabriquer un grand nombre de
locomotives de ce genre en peu de temps, on
chercha à simplifier la construction et la fabrica-
tion par rapport aux types précédents.
C’est ainsi que l’on développa la série 52, en
simplifiant sans cesse la série de locomotives
50. Cette série fut ensuite fabriqués en plus de
6 000 exemplaires, dans des usines de loco-
motives allemandes et étrangères, entre 1942
et 1945. Elle était en mesure de transporter des
trains de marchandises d’un poids total de 635
tonnes en plaire avec une vitesse de 80 km/h.
Dans des montées de 10‰, elle parvenait en-
core à tracter 415 tonnes, à 50 km/h.
En raison du grand nombre d’unités, ces loco-
motives étaient courantes après la guerre, non
seulement dans les deux parties de l’Allema-
gne, mais aussi dans ce nombreux autres pays
européens.

Voor de uitgebreide transporttaken die de Deut-
sche Reichsbahn tijdens de Tweede Wereldoor-
log moet uitvoeren, waren sterke lokomotieven
nodig, die ook op trajecten waar geringe asdruk
toegelaten was, ingezet konden worden.
Om in zo kort mogelijke tijd een groot aantal van
zulke lokomotieven te kunnen produceren, werd
er naar gestreefd de constructie en de fabricage
ten opzichte van de gebruikelijke typen aanzien-
lijk te vereenvoudigen.
Uit de lokomotiefserie 50 werd daarom door
consequente „verfijnering” de serie 52 ont-
wikkeld. Deze serie werd vervolgens in de
jaren 1942 tot en met 1945 in meer dan 6 000
exemplaren in Duitse en buitenlandse loko-
motieffabrieken gebouwd. De lok was in staat
goederentreinen met een totaal gewicht van 635
ton op vlak terrein met een snelheid van 80 km/h
te vervoeren, op hellingen van 10‰ konden ze
nog 415 ton met 50 km/h trekken.
Door hun grote aantal waren deze lokomotieven
ook na de oorlog niet alleen in de twee Duitslan-
den, maar ook in vele andere Europese landen
vaak te vinden.

Sicherheitshinweise
• Die Lok darf nur mit einem dafür bestimmten Be-
triebssystem (Märklin Wechselstrom-Transformator
6647, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oder Märklin
Systems) eingesetzt werden. Keinesfalls Transfor-
matoren für eine Eingangsspannung von 220 V - für
USA 110 V - verwenden
• Die Lok darf nur aus einer Leistungsquelle gleichzei-
tig versorgt werden.
• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss
das Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das
Entstörset 74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist
das Entstörset nicht geeignet.
• Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise in
der Gebrauchsanleitung zu Ihrem Betriebssystem.
Jegliche Garantie-, Gewährleistungs- und Schadensersatzan
sprüche sind ausgeschlossen, wenn in Märklin-Produkten nicht
von Märklin freigegebene Fremdteile eingebaut werden und /
oder Märklin-Produkte umgebaut werden und die eingebauten
Fremdteile bzw. der Umbau für sodann aufgetretene Mängel und
/ oder Schäden ursächlich war. Die Darlegungs- und Beweislast
dafür, dass der Einbau von Fremdteilen oder der Umbau in bzw.
von Märklin-Produkten für aufgetretene Mängel und / oder Schä-
den nicht ursächlich war, trägt die für den Ein- und / oder Umbau
verantwortliche Person und / oder Firma bzw. der Kunde.

Safety Warnings
• This locomotive is to be used only with an
operating system designed for it (Märklin
6646/6647 AC transformer, Märklin Delta,
Märklin Digital or Märklin Systems). Under
no circumstances should transformers rated
for an input of 220 volts be connected to the
American 110 volt household current system.
• This locomotive must never be supplied with
power from more than one transformer.
• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent inter-
ference with radio and television reception, when the
locomotive is to be run in conventional operation.
The 74046 interference suppression set is to be used
for this purpose. The interference suppression set is
not suitable for digital operation.
• Pay close attention to the safety warnings in
the instructions for your operating system.
No warranty or damage claims shall be accepted in those cases
where parts neither manufactured nor approved by Märklin have
been installed in Märklin products or where Märklin products have
been converted in such a way that the non-Märklin parts or the
conversion were causal to the defects and / or damage arising.
The burden of presenting evidence and the burden of proof there-
of, that the installation of non-Märklin parts or the conversion in or
of Märklin products was not causal to the defects and / or dama-
ge arising, is borne by the person and / or company responsible
for the installation and / or conversion, or by the customer.

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité
• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec
un système d’exploitation adéquat (Märklin courant
alternatif -transformateur 6647, Märklin Delta, Mär-
klin Digital ou Märklin Systems). N’utilisez en aucun
cas de transformateurs pour une tension à l’entrée
de 220 V - 110 V pour les Etats-Unis.
• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant que
par une seule source de courant.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode con-
ventionnel, la voie de raccordement doit être dépa-
rasitée. A cet effet, utiliser le set de déparasitage réf.
74046. Le set de déparasitage ne convient pas pour
l’exploitation en mode numérique.
• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur
la sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi en ce qui
concerne le système d’exploitation.
Tout recours à une garantie commerciale ou contractuelle ou à
une demande de dommages-intérêt est exclu si des pièces non
autorisées par Märklin sont intégrées dans les produits Märklin
et / ou si les produits Märklin sont transformés et que les pièces
d’autres fabricants montées ou la transformation constituent
la cause des défauts et / ou dommages apparus. C’est à la

Veiligheidsvoorschriften
• De loc mag alleen met een daarvoor bestemd
bedrjfssysteem (Märklin wisselstroom transformator
6647, Märklin Delta, Märklin digitaal of Märklin Sys-
tems) gebruikt worden. In geen geval transformato-
ren met een ingangsspanning van 220 V - voor USA
110 V - gebruiken.
• De loc mag niet vanuit meer dan één stroomvoorzie-
ning gelijktijdig gevoed worden.
• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de
aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men
de ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale
bedrijf is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.
• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in
de gebruiksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.
Elke aanspraak op garantie en schadevergoeding is uitgesloten,
wanneer in Märklin-producten niet door Märklin vrijgegeven
vreemde onderdelen ingebouwd en / of Märklin-producten om-
gebouwd worden en de ingebouwde vreemde onderdelen resp.
de ombouw oorzaak van nadien opgetreden defecten en / of
schade was. De aantoonplicht en de bewijslijst daaromtrent, dat
de inbouw van vreemde onderdelen in Märklin-producten of de
ombouw van Märklin-producten niet de oorzaak van opgetreden
defecten en / of schade is geweest, berust bij de voor de inbouw
en/of ombouw verantwoordelijke persoon en / of firma danwel
