General Instructions
BEFORE YOU START PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
- Check the pack and make sure you have all the parts listed.
- When you are ready to start, make sure you have the right tools at hand (not supplied) including a Phillips screw-
driver, Stanley knife, Wood saw, Step ladder, Hammer and a Drill with 2mm bit.
- Ensure there is plenty of space and a clean dry area for assembly.
LOCATION FOR YOUR GARDEN BUILDING
A minimum of 60cm should be left around the perimeter of your garden building to allow access for maintenance,
annual treatment and to allow air ow around the building.
Where possible you should avoid placing your garden building underneath large trees to prevent the tree causing
damage to the building.
TIMBER
As with all natural materials, timber can be aected during various weather conditions. For the duration of heavy
or extended periods of rain, swelling of the wood panels may occur. Warping of the wood may also occur during
excessive dry spells due to an interior moisture loss. Unfortunately, these processes cannot be avoided but can be
helped. It is suggested that the outdoor building is sprayed with water during extended periods of warm sunshine
and sheltered as much as possible during rain or snow.
Once your garden building has been installed it will need to be treated as soon as possible and annually to prevent
the timber from deteriorating and to waterproof it. This is required to maintain the anti-rot guarantee.
Dip Treated buildings - Require a preservative treatment to protect against rot and decay and a waterproof treat-
ment to prevent water ingress
Pressure Treated buildings - Require a waterproof treatment to prevent water ingress
Log Cabins - Are supplied untreated and require a preservative and waterproong treatment.
BUILDING A BASE
When thinking about where the building and base is going to be constructed:
Ensure that there will be access to all sides for maintenance work and annual
treatment.
Ensure the base is level and is built on rm ground, to prevent distortion. Refer to diagrams for the base
dimensions, The base should be slightly smaller than the external measurement of the building, i.e. The cladding
should overlap the base, creating a run o for water. It is also recommended that the oor be at least 25mm above
the surrounding ground level to avoid ooding.
TYPES OF BASE
- Concrete 75mm laid on top of 75mm hard-core.
- Slabs laid on 50mm of sharp sand.
Whilst all products manufactured are made to the highest standards of Safety and in the case of childrens
products independently tested to EN71 level, we cannot accept responsibility for your safety whilst erecting or
using this product.
**Protim Aquatan T5 (621)**
Your building has been dip treated with Aquatan.
Aquatan is a water-based concentrate which is diluted with water, the building as been treated by the correct
application of Aquatan solution and then allowed to dry.
Aquatan is a decorative nish to colour the wood, which is applied industrially to timber fence panels and
garden buildings.
Aquatan undiluted contains: boric acid, sodium hydroxide 32% solution, aqueos mixture of sodium dioctyl
sulphosuccinat and alcohols: 2, 4, 6-trichlorophenol.

Door Panel (No. 1). Fix the T Hinges
(No. 17) onto the door and Door
Panel as shown (taking into account
on which side of the Door Panel
opening you want the Door to open).
Ensure that the screws go through the
cladding and into the framing behind.

**Please note: The side panels are all
interchangeable and can be posititioned in
a variety of congurations. Decide which
works best before assembly. See Page 2 for
suggested options.**
Fix the corners of the 4th Plain Panel (No. 5)
and a 2nd Plain Panel (No. 3) (or panel of your
choice) with 50mm screws as shown in diagram.
Do not secure the building to the oor until the
roof has been tted,
Position the panels so there is equal spacing
between the oor and cladding on all sides.

diagram.
Fix the end of the 3rd Plain Panel (No. 4)
(or panel of your choice) to the already standing
chosen panel with 50mm screws as shown in
diagram.
Do not secure the building to the oor until the
roof has been tted,

Fix the end of the 3rd Plain Panel (No. 4) (or
panel of your choice) to the already standing
chosen panel with 50mm screws as shown in
diagram.
Fix the corners of the 1st Plain Panel (No. 2)
to either side of the front of the building
depending on preference with 50mm screws as
shown in the diagram.
Do not secure the building to the oor until
the roof has been tted,
Position the panels so there is equal spacing
between the oor and cladding on all sides.

Step 2
Parts needed - No. 8 QTY 1
Place the oor panels (No. 8) onto a rm
and level base. Ensure the base has suitable
drainage, free from areas where standing
water can collect. See front page for base
requirements.

Place the Gable Tops (No. 7) central over the
end panels. Make sure that the cladding
slots together and x into position using
50mm screws.
Fix together using 8x50mm screws
staggering the screws so they don’t collide.

Fix the corner and end of the Door Panel
(No. 1) (or panel of your choice) to the already
standing chosen panel and 1st Plain Panel
(No. 2) with 50mm screws as shown in
diagram..
Do not secure the building to the
oor until the roof has been tted,
Position the panels so there is equal
spacing between the oor and
cladding on all sides.

Step 8
Parts needed - No. 14 QTY 1
No. 18 QTY 2
Place the ridge bar (No. 14) in between the
Gable Tops (No. 8) in line with the central
framing of the gable tops.
Fix the ridge bar to the gable using one
L bracket (No. 18) for each end. Fix with
4x20mm screws each.

Parts needed - No. 9 QTY 2
Place the Roof Panels (No. 9) on top of the
building making sure the framing in the roof
panels sits rmly within the Gable Tops (No. 7)
and on top of the Ridge Bar (No. 14).
**Make sure that you have got the roof panels
the correct way round with the recess at the top
of the apex as shown in the diagram.**
**The edges of the roof panels must be ush
with the outer cladding of the Gable Tops
(No. 7).**
From the top, x directly through the roof panels
(No. 9) and into the ridge bar (No. 14) below
using 5x60mm screws per roof panel .
It is essential that the ridge bar (No. 14) and roof
panel (No. 9) framing pull together when xed
with 60mm screws. You may require another person
pushing the ridge bar (No. 14) up from below to
achieve this.
HINT - Follow the nailing line of the framing on
the roof panel so that you are more likely to
x into the ridge bar below.

Use 40mm screws to x the roof (No. 9)
down the sides and at the bottom being
sure that the screws attach into the framing
below.

Once the roof is xed, attach the building
to the oor with 50mm screws.
Ensure the screws go through the panel into
the oor framing

Cut the felt (No. 20) into two sheets at
2200mm. Lay onto roof as shown in
diagram ensuring there is a 50mm
overhang around the sides.
Apply the felt tacks with a 100m m
space per tack..

Fit the Cover Trims (No. 13) over each
panel join and corner of the building
as shown in the illustration using
30mm screws. Pre drill to avoid
splitting.

Fit the Fascias (No. 11) to the roof over
the felt and secure in place with 40mm
screws as shown. Pre drill to avoid
splitting.
Followed by adding the Finials (No. 16)
over the Fascias using x2 40mm screws
per Finial.

Use 4x30mm Screws to x
each Door Beading Strips
(No. 12) onto the insides of
the Door Panel (No. 1)
opening. Ensure that the
screw is parallel with the
door frame when xing the
strip to the Door Panel as
shown in the close up view.

2x30mm screws, in the positions

Screw the Pad Bolt (No. 19) on to the door
(No. 6) and the retainer to the door panel
(No. 1) using 10x30mm screws. Make
sure that you screw into the framing behind.

Door Panel (No. 1) using 1x30mm
screw for each one.
