For Your Safety
Read all instructions carefully, even if you feel
that you are familiar with the appliance.
• To protect against the risk of electric shock,
DO NOT IMMERSE any part of this appliance
in water or any other liquid.
• The appliance is not intended for use by children
or inrm persons without supervision. Never
leave the appliance unattended when in use.
• Children should be prevented from playing with
the appliance.
• Switch off the power outlet and remove the plug
before cleaning or when not in use. To unplug,
grasp the plug and pull from the power outlet.
Never pull the cord. Never carry the appliance
by the cord.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged
cord or plug; if the appliance malfunctions; or if
it is dropped or damaged in any manner.
• Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of
a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Ensure
the cord does not come into contact with oil,
heat, sharp edges or rough surfaces and always
ensure it is in good condition.
• Do not operate or place any part of the
appliance on or near any hot surfaces (such as a
hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven).
• Do not use this appliance for anything other than
its intended use. This product is intended for
household use only.
• This appliance is intended to be plugged in a
240v outlet only.
• Do not attempt to repair, disassemble or modify
the appliance. There are no user-serviceable
parts.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Operate on a dry level uncluttered surface;
sinks, drainboards or uneven surfaces must be
avoided.
• The use of attachments or accessories not
recommended or sold by the manufacturer can
cause re, electric shock or injury.
• The foil cutter is not a toy. Ensure children do not
touch it as it contains a sharp knife. Cover the
opening of the Bottle Buddy™ with the foil cutter
whenever the Bottle Buddy™ is not in use.
• Store the appliance indoors in a dry location
out of the reach of children. Do not store it in a
location where the temperature may reach or
exceed 50˚C.
• Ensure that the Bottle Buddy™ is charged only
with the charger provided. Incorrect usage
can result in electric shock, overheating of the
appliance or leakage of corrosive liquid from the
battery.
COMPULSORY WARNING
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer or its service agent, or a
similarly qualied person, in order to avoid a hazard.
This product has not been designed for any uses
other than those specied in this booklet.

Congratulations on the purchase of your new Mistral
Bottle Buddy™.
Before rst using your new Bottle Buddy™, it is most
important that you read and follow the instructions
in this use and care booklet, even if you feel you are
familiar with this type of appliance.
Your attention is drawn particularly to the section
dealing with IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS. Find a safe
and convenient place to keep this booklet handy for
future reference.
This appliance has been designed to operate from a
standard domestic power outlet. It is not intended
for industrial or commercial use.
Cutting the foil
Place the foil cutter on the top of the bottle. Hold
the foil cutter down and press the button as shown
in Fig 1. Rotate the bottle while holding the foil
cutter in place. The foil will be cut after the bottle
has been fully rotated. Remove the foil, and the cork
will be exposed as shown in Fig 2.
The switch button
The switch button is a toggle switch (Fig 3). By
pressing the bottom side of the switch, the spiral
screw will turn in an anti-clockwise direction (to
penetrate the cork); by pressing the top part of
the switch button, the spiral screw will turn in a
clockwise direction (to remove the cork from the
bottle and the Bottle Buddy™).
Opening the wine bottle
Ensure the foil has been removed and the cork is fully
exposed before placing the Bottle Buddy™ on top of the
bottle. Press the bottom part of the switch button.
The spiral screw will gently penetrate the cork
.

Note: For best results, hold the Bottle Buddy™
as vertical as possible while operating (Fig 4).
The Bottle Buddy™ stops automatically when the
cork is fully removed from the bottle.
Lift the Bottle Buddy™ away from the bottle. Press
and hold the top part of the switch button to release
the cork (Fig 5).
Plug the charger into a standard domestic power
outlet. Plug the other end into the charging stand.
Place the Bottle Buddy™ in the charging stand,
ensuring it sits securely, as shown in Fig 6. The
indicator will light will be red when the battery
level is low. Leave the Bottle Buddy™ sitting on the
charging stand while it recharges.
The indicator light will illuminate green once the
Bottle Buddy™ has completed charging and is ready
for use.
The rst time the Bottle Buddy™ is charged, it should
be left on the charging stand for 48 hours. For
subsequent recharges, the Bottle Buddy™ will only
need two hours. Once the Bottle Buddy™ is fully
charged, it has the power to open 10 wine bottles.
Note: Ensure you charge the Bottle Buddy™ for
48 hours before rst use.
If the Bottle Buddy™ is subject to extended periods
of inactivity, the indicator light may ash between
red and green. This indicates that the battery is not
receiving a clear charge from the charging stand.
This is normal and the life of battery has not been
affected. To remedy this situation, simply place the
Bottle Buddy™ in the charging stand for 48 hours.
The Bottle Buddy™ will re-establish the connection
with the memory chip in the charging base, and will
be ready for use.
The male plug of the provided charger is designed
to engage to the charging stand only. Do not
attempt to plug it into any other area of the Bottle
Buddy™, or any other appliance. Failure to comply
may result in re, electric shock or injury.

Note: The use of chargers or attachments not
recommended or sold by the manufacturer can
cause re, electric shock or injury.
After Use
The Bottle Buddy™ should be stored in a dry
location, out of reach of children. To reduce the risk
of injury, cover the opening of the Bottle Buddy™
with the foil cutter.
Note: If a cork is not released automatically,
stab the bottom of the cork using a
screwdriver or fork and press the top switch.
This will stop the cork spinning and release it
from the Bottle Buddy™ (Fig 7).
The charging unit cannot be repaired. For safety
reasons the case is sealed and a damaged or non
functioning charging stand should no longer be
used.
When the battery in the Bottle Buddy™ is exhausted
and will no longer accept charge, it should be
disposed of in accordance with local regulations
with respect to rechargeable batteries. You should
contact your local council to determine the correct
procedure.
Note: Do not dispose of batteries by incineration.

addition to all implied warranties, other rights
and remedies in respect of the product which the
consumer has under the Trade Practices Act and
similar State and Territory Laws.
The original purchaser of this Mistral product is
provided with the following warranty subject to the
following conditions.
Mistral International Pty Ltd warrant this product for
a period of 3 years from the date of purchase for all
parts defective in workmanship or materials. This
product or defective parts will be replaced free of
charge.
WARRANTY CONDITIONS
1. This warranty is only valid for appliances used
according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. This appliance must not be modied
or changed in any way.
3. Connection must be to the voltage requirements
as specied in the ratings
label located on the product.
4. The manufacturer does not accept liability for
any direct or consequential damage, loss or
other expense arising from misuse or incorrect
installation and operation of the appliance.
5. Warranty will only be given where proof of
purchase is provided, e.g. original invoice.
6. Not designed or warranted for industrial
or commercial use.

Your Purchase Receipt/Invoice is proof of date of
purchase. You must be able to present it at the place

specications without incurring obligation. Whilst
every effort is made to ensure that descriptions,
specications and other information in this
